Picking Up Beautiful Girls In The Post-Apocalyptic World!

Cipher was truthful enough to admit that although his men were the best when it came to silent killing and infiltration, a brawl was not the best thing for them. They were not as physically fit and their numbers were half of what the underground possessed. He had to get there as soon as possible to help them! Those men would die if he isn’t there!

Cipher rushed to his door and opened it, only for him to come face to face with the barrel of a gun.

Ka-cha!

“Shit!”

Cipher jumped to one side.

Ratatatatattatataataattatata!!!!

The person holding the gun started to shoot immediately while walking into the house. Cipher grabbed a gun out from his holster and cocked it. He aimed at the person shooting and released a flurry of bullets. The man shooting hid behind the door to block the bullets before his voice echoed to Cipher.

“This is a pretty small place. I thought the leader of the shadow killers would live in a bigger house!”

He charged around the door and pointed his gun at Cipher, only for him to grow shocked when he didn’t see Cipher there anymore.

Clang!

A sound from behind him made him turn around and release a flurry of bullets but he was even more shocked when there was still no one there! It was only a metal pole that fell!

Where did Cipher go!?

“Yes, the leader of the shadow killers should live in a big house and have hundreds of servants”

Up!

The man turned his gun up, but it was already too late. Cipher pointed his gun down at the man and a bullet dug into the man’s forehead before he could release his own bullets. Cipher let go of the rope he had tied to the roof for this exact reason and jumped down as the man fell to the ground.

So they sent a hired killer to his house? How annoying. The underground was going to war with them now!? All because of that Han Luo!? Cipher may not know the full extent of Han’s influence in the underground, but if he is able to call these many people to fight for him, then he is a big boss there.

Cipher walked past the body and grabbed his bag from the floor again. But then his ears perked up as he heard footsteps coming from outside his room. His eyes trailed towards the window on the other side of the room as some low voices came through the door

“Is this it?”

“Yes, that idiot went ahead of us and I heard gunshots. I don’t know if he’s still alive”

Three men carrying guns came into the room quickly and aimed at three areas around the room. They were the hired killers that Tao Long sent to kill Cipher. But their eyes widened when they only saw a single bag hanging from the middle of the room and ten grenade rings scattered over the floor.

“Shit! Shit! Shit! Run!!”

Cipher watched the room explode from the other side of the road before he holstered his bag higher and disappeared into the crowd running away. So the underground was serious about killing him. But didn’t they know that just four men weren’t enough to even make a scratch on him? They wouldn’t just send four men to kill him. Cipher was sure they just sent these men here to hold him back from going to the aid of his other men. He needed to get there as quickly as possible.

But first, he had to make sure his family didn’t get caught up in this war. He made a call and Fen Ren picked up quickly.

[Cipher, is there something wrong?]

Fen Ren was shocked that Cipher called him. This man never calls him unless it was something his father wanted. They were never that close. But Cipher’s next words made him realise that this was more than just instructions from his father.

“The seaside airport. Grab everything important to you that can be stuffed inside a bag and drive there as quickly as possible. If you’re late then you’ll be left behind”

Cipher clicked the phone shut before Fen Ren could even say anything else and then he called Hou Ren.

[Cipher. Don’t tell me you’ve succeeded already?]

Cipher grit his teeth. His father sounded so hopeful. He didn’t like giving bad news to his father, but he would have to do it so that Hou Ren doesn’t get into trouble.

“I’m sorry father, but I failed. I want you to go to the seaside airport. There will be a plane there to take you away for now. I promise to bring Dori back to you”

[Dori? What happened to her!? Cipher! Tell me what’s going on right now!]

“Father please listen to me for once. This useless son of yours is begging you to listen to him! Just trust me!”

Hou Ren went silent for a while before he growled and clicked off the phone. Cipher knew that Hou Ren would realize how difficult the situation was and he will move to the airport. Once his family is safe then he will make this city into a battlefield.

Tao Long took his comms out of his ear and massaged them. So Cipher used explosives to kill his hired killers? What a dangerous man! He almost went deaf from that explosion!

Tao Long was still at the hangar where Dori Ren was being held. He didn’t want to leave this girl here and go with his men because his boss told him to look after her. Tao Long didn’t know why his boss made him stay back with her, but there must be a plan in place so he wasn’t worried.

“Boss, there is a call coming through. It’s from Cipher,”

Tao Long couldn’t stop a smile from blooming on his face as he grabbed the phone.

“Cipher? So you’re still alive even after that explosion?”

[I’m coming for you. I’m going to kill you and everyone you know. Even if you surrender right now I will make sure the underground doesn’t exist tomorrow]

Tao Long sighed before frowning. And here he thought Cipher was a smart man. Tao Long didn’t give a shit about the underground. His only loyalty was to his boss. And there was nothing Cipher could do to his boss.

Tao Long didn’t know why the boss was allowing him to take care of the shadow killers, but he would make sure not to fail his boss. If Cipher wants to fight them let him come!

“I don’t think you need to look for me Cipher. In fact, I’ll tell you exactly where I am. Come and meet your maker”

Then Tao Long told Cipher the address of the hangar before shutting down the phone. Cipher knew that it was a trap. He knew there was no way he would go there and not meet many men from the underground waiting for him, but there is no way he would leave Dori Ren there alone.

His men from the shadow organization were too busy handling the other men from the underground and if he tries to call them out then the underground would surely kill them all. He had to do this alone!

Cipher swerved his car around and drove straight for the hangar.

Fen Ren was panicking intensely. The call he received from Cipher made him afraid. What was going on? Why did he have to leave all of a sudden? Was he being targeted by someone?

Fen Ren didn’t even bother to wait in his office after his call was disconnected. He immediately raced out while grabbing his jacket. His car was parked in the garage under the building and he rushed to get to it. The first place he need to go was his house. He needed to get some clothes and then money to last him for a while!

But before that, he would go over to the upper estate of City C because he needed to grab someone!

Miss Kim was shocked when she opened her door to see an out-of-breath Fen Ren standing there. She was wearing simple shorts and a shirt and she folded her hand across her chest while frowning at his appearance.

“What are you doing here? I thought I told you that I wanted space?”

Miss Kim was not happy because Fen Ren was here. She knew that they were engaged, but she also knew she did not like this man. He was not someone she could get along with for many reasons!

“I don’t care for your bitching right now, grab your things and get ready to leave! We’re going out of the city!”

Fen Ren suddenly said this and Miss Kim’s eyes narrowed. What did he mean by that!? There was no way she was going anywhere all of a sudden!

When some time passed and Miss Kim still didn’t move, Fen Ren suddenly pushed her inside.

“I said grab your things now!”

“Don’t push me, you bastard!”
