116. Forgoten

It took but an instant for Tomoka’s speed force accelerated mind to understand what she was seeing, and at that moment she knew, she, fucked, up. It’s said that arrogance and hubris is the poison of the powerful. Oh how the great have fallen. To think that she wouldn’t take into account Danzo’s most powerful weapon.

Why hadn’t she made counter measures for such a powerful eye? Why hadn’t she entertained the idea of Danzo using the eye on her? It all boils down to arrogance and hubris. Tomoka believed herself to be too powerful to fall under it. She believed that she could kill Danzo before he uncovered the eye. That wasn’t the case and now she was paying for it.

Inside Tomoka’s mindscape a massive mangekyo sharingan covered the sky. Infinitely far yet infinitely big. Its red light assaulting Tomoka’s mind with relentless fervor. Her entire mindscape quaked as the red glow attempted to reach her library, her books, her memories.

“¡AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” The head splitting headache Tomoka felt reduced her to a screaming mess as her phantoms broke like glass. However, she wouldn’t go down so easily. She had suffered far worse even if she couldn’t remember how or when.

“Kurama!” That was all she needed to say for the fox to open the floodgates of his chakra. Normally he would allow Tomoka to use only five tails, six if she asked nicely for it. Now he couldn’t hold back or Tomoka would suffer a fate worse than death.

Now with an overabundance of chakra Tomoka recalled all external clones as well to increase the amount even more. Then she did the only thing that might help in the situation. She began creating phantoms, tens, hundreds, thousands of them. Every single one of them with a single purpose, shielding her mind.

They phantoms broke and reformed as they used Tomoka’s unyielding will to create a mind shield. A crud protection but the best they could do as of now. The shield would stand strong for as long as Tomoka’s will did so. However, under the relentless attack of the kotoamatsukami even her will wouldn’t hold.

In the real world barely half a second had gone by while inside Tomoka’s mind a full thirty torturous minutes had passed. She was starting to lose her grip while her and Kurama’s chakra started to dip. She wouldn’t be able to hold for much longer. At most an hour, maybe two with some luck but not much more.

The cracks riddling the library and the world within her mind were a strong testimony of the struggle. Yet no one realized that there was a part of Tomoka’s mind that was unshielded and had been receiving the brunt of the attack. High in the skys of the mindscape a bright orb of fire that shun in the guise of a sun began to crack.

A moment, that is all it takes. A single moment where a mistake could take place. Tomoka had made a grave mistake by underestimating Danzo. While Danzo had made a mistake by attacking Tomka’s mind in such a brutal and all encompassing way.

The sun cracked and broke and from it a nightmare was given form. Black wispy memories of a torturous eternity flew around the mindscape drowning the red light of the  kotoamatsukami. Memories of an eternity, infinity, and nihility. The black wisps sought to take their rightful place within Tomoka’s mind.

Black books with words written in blood sought to take their place within the library. Their contents are a garbled mess of words attempting to describe the pain, madness and despair caused by an indescribable experience. Hundreds, thousands, millions of cursed books bringing memories of nothing more than a soul rending pain.

¡AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” Tomoka screamed anew with bloody tears falling from her eyes. Her sanity and ego slowly but surely being eroded by the insanity brought from such cursed memories. At this point where her whole being was about to be destroyed there was only one thing she could do. One last ditch effort to save herself from the torture within her own mind.

ODITOMNIA!” And the world would know hate.
