One Piece: Gambling to The Top

Chapter 217

Seeing how he had performed so far, Josh believed that he, in his base form, is at an Emperor League. And he also had to admit, the shockwaves from him and Big Mom were enough to destroy this island. Not to mention that, above them, all of the clouds were cut in half. 

"It's time to get over with this and get back  to Birthday Cake." As she licked her lips, Big Mom dashed toward the near Josh, joined her hands together, and chopped down, as if she was holding an axe. But Josh was fast enough to leave an afterimage. The whole Totto Land shook, cracks spread everywhere, and water came from the sea to fill them. Linlin lifted her head. Josh was there, flapping his wings. Linlin focused her power on her legs and jumped. 

Scoffing, Josh flapped his wings and circled around Linlin and was now beneath her. Linlin lowered her head, and she reached for her hat. Once she pulled it, a great sized sword appeared. The grip of the sword had eyes and mouth, it seems. It was alive. 

Josh landed on the ground and lifted his hand. A ball of light appeared and aimed it at the big woman. 

The beam left, and its length was at the size of a ship. Josh let a scoff, and the size of the beam grew bigger. Linlin was blinded for a second. The light beam became a pillar, and in length, it was larger than the island. Linlin chopped down with her sword, infusing her Haki within it. And she clenched her teeth. But alas, even she didn't have enough power to stop it. 

Everyone around saw how the pillar made its way to heaven. They were blinded. Such an attack, if it was landed down, they would have been wiped from existence. 

"I'll call this, semi Final Flash." Josh shook his hand. The light vanished, and a big hole appeared in the sky. 

Josh was sure that the whole New World saw this. 

Other people from other seas won't see it. Unless One Piece World is flat.

Josh turned his head slowly, having the feeling that this won't be over any soon. 

He there saw Smoothie, stabbing the people with her sword. Each time her blade entered someone, they would dry up, and she would grow larger. Looking at the trail of the fallen people behind her, Josh could see why she is large, and that she had been doing this for a long time. 

"Now, I wonder. Why does her sword grow with her." Josh couldn't understand the logic behind the powers of the Devil Fruits.

Smoothie became a giant that would make Linlin little. She had absorbed many people and became somehow above a hundred meters in height. Looking down at Josh, she raised her sword. 

"Go to the hell!" Smoothie growled, and she was about to chop her very large sword. When the blade was about to meet him, Josh raised his Great Devil Sword with one hand. The ground beneath him cracked. But Josh, in his demon form, could hold still and push back. 

"Rest in Peace." Replied Josh. 

From nowhere, a couple of giant arms appeared on her back. They wrapped around her neck and the hands held her head. Despite relatively looking smaller, the arms held so much strength. When they moved, Smoothie's neck was broken, and she fell on her knees. Her size became normal — not that normal, and she fell down. 

Robin shook her hands. She was far, but Josh could see her. He just waved his hand at her and smiled. With her strength, Josh doubted that anyone's neck can handle so much pressure. Even his. But he can always work out his neck. 

"Okay. I have to deal with this now." 

Josh lifted his head. 

He had a feeling that Linlin hadn't died. Somehow, she had managed to survive, and he was curious why. 

A point appeared in the sky, falling. Josh looked at his wrist as if he was waiting. Soon, the point grew bigger and bigger, and Linlin's figure appeared. She was covered in blood from head to toe. Linlin landed on her feet, and she started panting. 

"Ha… Ha… That was one quiet trip to the sky." She breathed heavily, but sturdy. 

"I can't believe that you survived that flash." Josh furrowed his eyebrows. "Wait. Hold on. You didn't!" 

Linlin smirked. "I've given it a piece of my soul when I was about to leave the planet. I guess I should thank you for such a large light beam." Linlin lifted her head and laughed. "That's better than bearing your children. A giant living pillar of light under me. That's way stronger than an ancient weapon. Mama Mama! With that, I can destroy any territory of the world." 

Linlin clapped her hand. 

A light beam descended from the sky and it hit the sea. A great explosion occurred, and wind surged everywhere. 

"Meet my new friend. Lucifer!" Linlin chuckled as she raised her hand. Once Josh lifted his head, he saw a shiny light ball. It looked to rival the sun as it eliminated any shadow. In the middle, Lucifer had eyes and a nose. 

With its size and light properties, Lucifer can erase any island by simply passing by it. 

"Yes, Mama!" Lucifer said. He started shrinking in size and landed next to Linlin. Linlin moved her sword and smirked. "Let's kill this bastard." 

The light entered the sword, creating an aura around it. 

"I like your Devil Fruit." Josh smiled. "But If I beat you to get it, it will take time. It's better to kill you next to the kitchen." 

Josh held his Great Devil Sword with both hands. The sword's colour started changing, turning pitch black. Black fog danced around it. As he infused his Haki with it, lightning danced around it. 

Linlin's lips twitched. Lifting the glowing sword, she slashed forward. An air blade left the blade, and the light was covering it. 

Josh found that he needed to use his speed and took a quick step to the side. 

The air slash was at the speed of the light. 

Behind Josh, everything was cut. 

*BAM* 

Josh couldn't help but turn his eyes. Even the sea behind him was cut in half. 

Once he turned his eyes back, Linlin was in front of him. She slashed the light covered sword at him, and Josh lifted his sword. Josh clenched his teeth as he was pushed to the ground. Linlin was pushing with her utmost power, screaming. Her screams Haki mixed surely can make the strongest people bend on their knees. Then what about Josh whose hearing senses were higher many times than normal people. 

It didn't bother him at all since all of his focus was there. Between her light sword and his dark sword, sparks appeared. 

Josh put more power, and Linlin's momentum was stopped. The giant blade shook back and the light vanished from her sword. Just as Linlin was about to pull her sword back, Josh put his hand above the blade, and hug it to his body, holding it between his greatsword and hand. 

"What!" Linlin was shocked by Josh's power as he twisted his body. She tried to resist, but her body's weight was pulled. 

Josh span, lifting the sword and Linlin, before throwing both of them to the sky. Josh jumped after her, landing on her foot and putting the great sword on his back. Josh then started running on her body and took the Katana. He started running, waving his sword repeatedly down as he reached her chest level and sheathed. Linlin left her sword and clapped. Josh slide and bent backwards, letting the giant hands clash above him. The Demon made a smiling face as he unsheathed his sword, creating an arc of silver light.

Linlin's eyes shook as she felt the pressed air pass by her hands. By the time, Josh was above her neck, he was holding the Great Devil Sword. He stabbed down, and the giant Linlin's movement was redirected to the ground. 

"More More, Speed x225," Josh said. 

Her body then flew like a nuke to the ground. Every destroyed pile flew with the shockwave. What was left on her original spot was her legs and hands. 

Josh took his sword back. He looked at Linlin, who was so shocked about what was going on. Her Devil Fruit power wasn't there because of the darkness, and her arms and legs had been cut by Josh. 

Josh took his greatsword out of her throat and waved it, shaking the blood away. He then put it on his back. 

Linlin was struggling to breathe, but she was already defeated. She wanted to put her hand on the ground and stand up, but there were no legs to stand on, nor hands to support her weight. 

[Dang. The Gamble is completed] 

[Rewards are transferred to the system.] 

But Josh barely heard that as he was observed by the moment. He took the Devil Vessel out of his storage, and he put it next to Linlin. She was still struggling, so the vessel couldn't take her Devil Fruit. Josh's demonic energy attribute switched to sloth, and he put his hand at her. Linlin started freezing, slowly sleeping. 

The vessel shone, and Josh reached his hand. Taking his hand out, he was holding a new Devil Fruit. 

Josh smirked, opened his mouth, and took a bite. 

What Josh just claimed out of this victory was Soul Soul fruit.

"The taste of the victory makes it better." He gulped. Josh thought that he can get used to this taste. 

But on the good side, Josh will never have to deal with the taste of Devil Fruit again. 

Josh then extended his hand to the frozen body of Linlin. Wrath flame left his hand and swallowed Linlin, turning her into ashes. 

Josh felt no pity for her. He then looked at his arm, thinking about his new Devil Fruit ability. 

An azure fog danced around his hand.. "So, this is my soul."
