Chapter 375
Chapter 375 - Feng Nichang's Doubt the Optimistic Jiang Family
Jiang Hao's information was hardly a secret; Feng Nichang had already secured it through other means.
Yet, scouring his records revealed no hints whatsoever.
Her visit to the Soong family was a strategic move to glean more about Jiang Hao.
Indeed, fortune favors the bold.
Today's conversation between Soong Wanzhong and Uncle Hai made it clear they were privy to certain details!
Moreover, she was astonished to discover not one, but five martial cultivators within the Soong estate!
Uncle Hai was not only a martial cultivator but his prowess rivaled that of Aunt Hong!
This was at odds with the intel she had previously acquired.
Rumors had circulated that the Fifth, Seventh, and Eighth Elders from the White Tiger Hall under the Nether King's Hall had all visited the Soong Mansion.
Yet only the Fifth and Seventh Elders had left in disgrace, with the Eighth Elder presumed dead.
With Uncle Hai and the other four martial cultivators' combined strength, they shouldn't stand a chance against the Nether King's Hall's menace.
Could the assailant be someone else?
Perhaps the enigmatic Jiang Hao?
In that moment, Soong Wan, reassured by Soong Wanzhong and Uncle Hai's confidence, approached Feng Nichang with an invitation in hand.
“Sister Nichang, join us at the culinary showdown tomorrow!”
“Brother Hao's cooking is scrumptious. We might even get to sample his creations!”
Feng Nichang had been contemplating how to attend the next day's culinary battle, but Soong Wan had preempted her with an invite.
A smile graced Feng Nichang's face.
“Absolutely, I was hoping to do just that!”
……
The following day, Jiang Hao rose early, his spirit cleansed by a melody on the strings. He then calmly awaited Xue Zixi's arrival.
Jiang's parents and his sister, Jiang Zixuan, upon learning of Jiang Hao's upcoming kitchen duel, were eager to go and support him.
Jiang Hao was happy to have their encouragement.
Promptly at nine, Xue Zixi arrived to fetch Jiang Hao.
“Mr. Jiang, I've come to escort you!”
Jiang Hao nodded in agreement.
“Just a moment, please!”
He called out to the inside of the house.
“Dad, Mom, Zixuan, we're leaving!”
“Understood!”
“We're on our way!”
Soon after, Jiang's father, Jiang's mother, and Jiang Zixuan emerged, each dressed to the nines and beaming with joy.
To the uninitiated, it might seem as though they were setting off on a vacation!
Xue Zixi, witnessing the scene, broke into a sweat.
“Don't they realize how perilous being a Chef Dou Shi is?”
“Or could it be that their faith in Mr. Jiang is unwavering?”
Xue Zixi set aside these concerns for the moment and exchanged pleasantries with Jiang's parents and Jiang Zixuan.
“Miss Xue, shall we head out?”
Jiang Hao spoke up, prompting Xue Zixi to respond hastily.
“Mr. Jiang, have you forgotten something?”
Jiang Hao looked at her, puzzled.
What could he have possibly forgotten?
“What is it?”
Seeing the look on Jiang Hao's face, Xue Zixi felt a twinge of apprehension.
“Mr. Jiang, aren't you bringing your specialized kitchen tools?”
Jiang Hao paused, taken aback by the question.
“Aren't kitchen tools provided at the Chef Dou?”
Xue Zixi couldn't help but facepalm at his response.
She began to doubt whether Jiang Hao was even aware of the Chef Dou's regulations.
She quickly clarified.
“Mr. Jiang, while kitchen tools are indeed provided during the competition, chefs typically prefer to use their own specialized tools.
This way, they don't have to waste energy getting accustomed to unfamiliar equipment during the competition.”
Jiang Hao caught on immediately.
He had assumed that participants were required to bring their own kitchen tools. With this new understanding, he realized he might need to bring along that old kitchen knife from home!
