Chapter 1249  Terrifying Spiritual Power (Part 2)

Swish!

With a sharp, piercing sound, a nearly ten-meter-long spear shadow—formed entirely from burning deep orange flames—shot forward with devastating speed, aimed straight at a mid-level Rank Three vampire.

However, before the spear shadow could reach its intended target, three shimmering shields made of condensed blood energy materialized in its path, each standing resolutely to intercept its advance.

As the blazing spear shadow struck the first shield, it shattered the barrier in an instant, scattering fragments of blood energy into the air. However, the intense flames surrounding the spear visibly dimmed as a result, their destructive glow fading slightly.

When the spear shadow clashed against the second shield, it stalled momentarily, its momentum briefly halted before the flames erupted in a fiery explosion, obliterating the shield. Though it continued onward, its force was noticeably diminished.

Finally, upon colliding with the third and final shield, the spear shadow wavered. Despite its intense heat evaporating a significant portion of the blood energy making up the shield, it could no longer sustain its form and with a soft hiss, the spear collapsed into flickering embers, its energy spent.

From the moment the spear collided with the first shield to its eventual disintegration against the last, the entire sequence of destruction took no longer than a single second. Yet, in that brief moment, the three vampires surrounding Blaze had already moved, retreating rapidly to a safer distance, ensuring they remained beyond the reach of any potential follow-up attacks.

Blaze's expression darkened with fury when she saw this, her face flushed red as veins visibly throbbed on her forehead. It was clear to anyone watching that she was utterly pissed.

Blaze's strength lay in her ability to decimate her enemies using overwhelmingly powerful destructive skills, but the current situation severely constrained her. She couldn't afford to unleash most of her devastating abilities here.

The reasons were twofold: firstly, doing so would undoubtedly attract the attention of other treasure hunters lurking in the Dark Forest, and secondly, because the Dark Forest was under Alaric's jurisdiction.

Alaric permitted adventurers and treasure seekers to explore the outer and inner regions of the Dark Forest freely and only the central area remained off-limits, strictly forbidden to outsiders.

While Alaric tolerated exploration and minor skirmishes within his domain, large-scale destruction was another matter entirely. Even though agreements existed between Alaric and the other major factions of Utopia, the Dark Forest was still his territory, and no ruler would tolerate having their lands ravaged by reckless destruction.

"Just give up already and hand over that thing, and we will let you leave," Said the Peak Rank Three vampire smugly, his tone laced with arrogance as he smirked at Blaze.

Blaze, however, ignored his taunts, her attention shifting instead to her guard. The mid level rank four phoenix was currently engaged in combat against the Peak Rank Four vampire in the distance. Her brows furrowed deeply as she observed the ongoing battle.

Although her guard was undeniably powerful, the rank disparity between him and the vampire leader posed a significant challenge.

The vampire's displayed abilities were formidable, making it clear that he was not an ordinary opponent. If the two were of equal rank, her guard would likely have emerged victorious without much difficulty. However, under the current circumstances, Blaze wasn't sure how long her guard could hold his own—or if he could even secure a victory.

As she weighed her options, Blaze began to consider the possibility of unleashing one of her more powerful skills to force an escape, even if it meant risking the consequences.

However, before she could reach a decision, she suddenly sensed a new presence nearby, and her expression changed instantly, her instincts kicking in as she quickly turned to face the newcomer.

When her gaze landed on the figure approaching from the shadows, she froze, her pupils narrowing in shock and instinctively, she took a cautious step back.

"Sister, long time no see," Said Evan, his warm smile contrasting sharply with his perpetually lazy demeanour, giving him an oddly disarming appearance.

The three vampires, however, did not find Evan's approach disarming in the slightest. Hearing him address Blaze as "Sister," their expressions grew wary, and their gazes shifted uneasily between the two.

Blaze, for her part, immediately heightened her guard. Her spiritual senses expanded outward, scanning the surroundings for any sign of a trap. Her mind raced with suspicion, certain that Evan had ulterior motives for appearing here.

Given their last encounter in the Tomb of the Ancient—where Evan had deceived her and Voidscar, turning multiple factions against them—it was only natural for her to assume he had come to set her up once again.

When Evan noticed Blaze's wariness, her eyes darting around the area as if expecting an ambush. His lips twitched, a faint hint of exasperation flickering across his face. Still, he couldn't blame her. After everything he had done in the past, her suspicion was more than justified.

Choosing to ignore her reaction, Evan took a casual step forward, his smile unwavering.

"Sister, what are you doing here?" He asked, his tone light and conversational. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Blaze immediately retreated further and warned in a cold voice.

"Stay away from me."

Evan halted when he heard Blaze's words and let out a small sigh as he shook his head.

"Sister, are you still angry about what happened last time?" He asked, his face adopting an exaggeratedly guilty expression as if he was feeling really sorry about what he did last time.

Blaze, however, wasn't swayed by his feigned remorse and was ready to unleash her skills at the slightest provocation.

Blaze wanted to issue another warning upon seeing Evan was once again moving towards her. But before she could, a sudden movement caught her attention.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Peak Rank Three vampire spring into action, targeting Evan instead of her.

Blaze's eyes lit up with anticipation when she saw this and she was ready to escape by taking advantage of the opportunity.

Suddenly, Evan, who was focused on Blaze heard a sharp whistle of air slicing toward him from behind and a blood-red wire—thinner than a strand of hair—shot toward his head like a bullet.

For an ordinary mid-level Rank Three core evolver, the attack would have been fatal, their head pierced before they even had time to react.

But Evan remained motionless, not even bothering to turn around.

Just as the blood-red wire was mere centimetres from his head—close enough to make Blaze and the vampires believe he was doomed—the wire abruptly stopped, suspended in midair.

The moment the wire stopped, the atmosphere shifted dramatically as a suffocating spiritual pressure descended upon the area, making Blaze and the Vampires feel as if their heads were struck by a hammer.

Evan's black eyes glowed faintly with a hazy white light, his spiritual energy churning like a storm.

His time in the Blood Dungeon had significantly enhanced his spiritual power. With every thousand steps he climbed, his soul had been bathed in milky-white energy, strengthening and refining it.

Currently, his spiritual power rivalled that of a mid-level Rank Four Core Evolver. However, its purity was unparalleled, far beyond the capabilities of his rank.

Where once his power had been a vast, turbulent ocean, it was now condensed into a solid, controlled core.

After stopping the blood red wire, Evan turned to look at the three Vampires and with a mere thought, unleashed tangible waves of spiritual energy.

Under the pressure of the spiritual power, the three vampires froze, their bodies immobilized as if held by unseen hands.

Evan, using his spiritual power for telekinesis for the first time, struggled with control... And because he couldn't control the force properly—

Bang!

One vampire's head suddenly imploded, reduced to a gruesome paste before the others could react.

The eyes of the remaining two vampires opened wide in terror when they saw this, and they fought desperately to escape.

Evan frowned when he wasn't able to control the force properly, displeased with his lack of precision, but quickly shrugged as he could still turn them into a shadow undead even if their heads explods.

Without delaying any further, he increased the pressure on the remaining two vampires and the next moment—

Bang! Bang!

Two more booming sounds echoed, and the heads of both of the vampires exploded in unison, leaving silence in their wake.
