MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1123 Saint and Saintess

1123  Saint and Saintess

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the Azure Blade," said Zuo, his voice intentionally loud enough for almost everyone in the barracks to hear. "Planning to head out for a mission?"

Taking note of the faint malicious glint underneath the man's jade green eyes, Valyr inwardly let out a sigh as he frowned in response. "Are you seriously going to do this here?"

"I've already told the two of you yesterday. No matter how much you pester me, I'll reject it every time."

"Valyr, what's going on?" Seeing a considerable portion of the people in the barracks gathering around them, a slight frown appeared on Hal's face as he decided to send Valyr a private message.

Receiving this message not long after, Valyr went ahead and gave him a brief explanation of the entire situation, allowing the two to finally understand what was happening.

With their brief conversation happening through the system's chat feature, both Zuo and You remained oblivious to it as they looked at the young man with malicious smiles on their faces. "Just because you've become a 6-star mercenary in a week doesn't mean the world revolves around you," said You, his expression and tone incredibly haughty. "Keep in mind that I'm a Colonel."

"On the other hand, Zuo here's a Major," continued the man, causing a few murmurs to arise from the crowd.

"And?" Valyr merely raised his eyebrow in response. "What do you want me to do about that?"

"What we're trying to tell you is that, you're either going to accept our offer of joining our War Squad…" Zuo replied to Valyr's question, unleashing a bit of his aura at him. "…Or else."

"Or else… what?" asked Valyr back, deciding to unleash his aura in its entirety as a reminder to the two. "What do you plan on doing with me if I don't accept, huh?"

Whoosh!

At the very moment Valyr flared out his aura, almost everyone in the barracks was left at a loss for words with how overbearing it was. Even Gerald, who'd taken notice of what was going at the side looked at the young man with surprise.

As for Hal and Vera, the two did not have much of a reaction towards Valyr's aura on the outside. After all, the two of them already knew what he was capable of back in the inheritance.

However, that did not stop the two of them from looking at each other with disguised shock, only now realizing that Valyr had grown far more than they thought he did since the last time they saw each other.

"Hmm?" Just as the situation seemed likely to escalate even further, You eventually noticed the couple standing behind Valyr.

Feeling as if he'd seen the two somewhere before, it did not take long for him to realize who they were, causing him to look like as if he'd seen a ghost all of a sudden.

"Hey, Major…" whispered You in Zuo's ear as the latter still looked at Valyr with great ferocity. "I'd suggest you shift your attention to the two people behind Ylvar."

"Hmm?" Knowing that his brother wouldn't say things without reason, Zuo went ahead and did as told, only to react the same way You did the moment he realized who they were.

"Wait a minute…" Of course, with how both Zuo and You acknowledged the presence of the two behind the young man, it went without saying that the crowd also began to take notice of both Hal and Vera.

With that, gasps of shock and surprise soon erupted throughout the crowd as they began to mention the nicknames the two had earned during their time in the battlefield.

"Isn't that the Northern War Saint?"

"Yeah… yeah! That is the Northern War Saint! Wait… then the girl beside him is…?"

"Who else could it be? Obviously, that's the Benevolent Saintess!"

"Was she always called the Benevolent Saintess? Pretty sure she used to be called the Northern Arcane Saintess sometime ago." n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"That used to be the case… but then she healed ten squads and empowered their stats to successfully fend off against an onslaught of orcs!"

"That's… uh… doesn't Puppeteer of the North sound better for something like that?"

"Northern War Saint… Benevolent Saintess…" Naturally, Valyr heard all of the conversations that were going on around him.

Hearing the nicknames the two had gotten for themselves while at the battlefield, the young man could not help but inwardly let out a sigh as he thought to himself, 'When would I get a nickname like that?'

"Er… Major Shou, was it?" Whilst the crowd was still discussing about their appearance in their barracks, Hal decided to appear beside Valyr as he looked at the pair with a slight smile. "Mind if you two moved aside for us?"

"After all, neither of us would want to see what will happen if you refuse, right?" asked the man to the two, his words carrying a domineering undertone.

Swoosh!

Seeing as the two intentionally deliberated on giving him a reply, Hal went ahead and flared out his aura in its entirety in response, its presence not losing out to the aura Valyr was letting out.

Because of that, the two were forced to move to the side after having two overbearing auras press down on their bodies.

Though, it did not take long for them to realize that if they decided to stay where they were any longer, perhaps a third aura of the same type would have pressed down on them as well.

With a hint of fear in their eyes, Zuo and You watched the three made their way to the battlefield as the crowd seemingly fawned over all of them.

However, that fear immediately disappeared once the three left the barracks for good as the two decided to return to the military base after that.

Ignoring the gazes they were receiving, as well as the words being spoken about them, Zuo looked at You beside him before asking, "At this point, we have to make a move, right?"

"But of course." You nodded in agreement, his expression turning grim as he recalled what happened earlier. "Though it would be great to have him join our War Squad, I'm starting to not care whether or not he joins in the end."

Gritting his teeth as anger gradually built up inside him, the man eventually let out a slight exhale as he came to a decision. "You know what? I've stopped thinking that he'll join our War Squad. I don't even care if he does join it anymore."

"However, what I do care about is all the humiliation we've received because of him."

"What you mean by that is…?" Hearing those words, it did not take long for Zuo to understand what was going on, a slight glint appearing in his eyes.

"Naturally, he'll pay the price for the humiliation he's given us," said You with conviction. "I'll make sure he pays for it in the end."

"Even if it costs him his life."
