Chapter 1096: A Different Kind of Absurd
"...I've definitely gotten a lot more than I was expecting."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Whoosh!
Stepping through the rift that brought him back to his plot of land, Valyr briefly thought back through everything he'd done while in the inheritance.
After he was done mulling over the memories he'd obtained and its connection to Vaughn's plans and the Shard of Defiance that was embedded in his mind, the young man then paid a brief visit to Ecalos to meet up with Ryvrthe and the others.
Once there, he talked with Ryvrthe regarding the plot of land he'd bought and their plans of gradually moving all of the Forsaken Ones back into Veldanyr.
Naturally, the two also talked about the plans they'd made in the past, which eventually made the young man think about heading to the Blacksmith Guild after he returned to Veldanyr. "Though I'm curious as to why that man ultimately has something to do with Vaughn's plans, I know for a fact that I'm not yet at a level high enough to obtain such information," said Valyr to himself as he briefly thought back to the train of thought he had earlier.
"I don't even know where to start looking for that."
"Well... I could always ask Vaughn more about it, but that would just attract its attention," said the young man as he continued to think out loud. "If anything, I should probably reach the requirements needed to make full use of the Shard of Defiance first before doing that." "Now that I think about it, I haven't taken a look at the description of the skill I just got," continued Valyr as he decided to pay a visit to Jacques before heading to the Blacksmith Guild. Activating [Flight of the Azure Dragon], the young man soon began to zoom through the dark skies, his attention now focused on the screen he'd brought up.
Ding!
[Eyes of the Sagacious One] (Lv. MAX)
Rarity: ???
Most of the description has been omitted.
The Sagacious One knows all, sees all, comprehends all. Even falsehoods become an infinite set of truths under his gaze.
This skill allows the user to toggle between their normal vision and the vision of the Sagacious One, the latter allowing one to understand all concepts the user sets their mind on at the cost of both HP and MP.
No matter what concept it may be, even those that stem from falsehoods, all of them shall become truths under the gaze of the Sagacious One, showing one truths that even the universe would have difficulty showing.
This skill also allows the user to willfully enter a primordial state of being, temporarily ascending themselves to a higher state of existence that renders all of the user's actions as effective, while also rendering all of the opponent's actions less effective.
This skill also boosts the user's WIS and PER by 20%.
"So that's why my attacks against the Lee brothers at the end finally had an effect on them." Reading through the description of his newly obtained skill, Valyr nodded in understanding as he now had an idea of what the ethereal state did.
Though he wasn't too sure as to what the skill meant by temporarily ascending him to a higher state of existence, his instincts told him that it had something to do with how those below Rank 5 would always lose against those at Rank 6 or above.
Well... almost always.
Aside from that, he took note of the fact that the skill's function of allowing him to understand concepts remained, though it was both upgraded and degraded in some ways.
"If I remember correctly, there was no cost to understanding concepts back when the skill was still in its previous version," muttered Valyr to herself. "Then again, the previous version didn't have an option for me to choose a specific concept."
"How about I try it out for a bit?" Seeing as it would took a while for him to arrive to where Jacques was, Valyr went ahead and made use of [Eyes of the Sagacious One], feeling his vision immediately shift in response.
Whoosh!
In less than an instant, the young man began to feel like all of the truths surrounding him were laid bare in their purest form, just waiting for them to picked up and comprehended by him.
Though, before he could even take advantage of the vision he was given, Valyr immediately felt immense exhaustion from the core of his body, causing him to be forcibly returned to his original state.
Knowing that this exhaustion stemmed from having his HP and MP being consumed, the young man went ahead and brought up his screen, only to be greeted by the sight of his HP and his various energies be all at one point each.
"...Damn." Being given a grim reminder that he might possibly die if he were to force himself to try using it again, Valyr decided to lock the skill up for now, thinking that he would need to at least be at the level of a Legend before trying to use it again.
Grabbing one of the Intermediate-level health and mana potions he'd concocted back in the Mystic Plane from his spatial bracelet, the young man did not hesitate to consume the two of them in one go as he arrived where Jacques was not long after.
...
"So, how did the visit to your new plot of land go?"
After telling Jacques to keep up the good work while also making a promise to make him a forging hammer, it went without saying that Valyr made his way to the Blacksmith Guild after his talks with Ryvrthe reminded him of some stuff.
Giving Julian a heads-up through a couple of messages along the way, Valyr eventually decided to head straight for the man's workshop after getting a reply that the man was still there at such a late time.
"Well, some of the plans will have to go through a couple of changes," said the young man in response to Julian's question. "However, most of them would probably have no problems being implemented."
"I think it'd be better if you paid a visit personally," continued Valyr, to which Julian pondered over for a bit.
"I'll try to pay a visit sometime in the future, but no promises," said the man after some time, only to then shift the topic to something else. "Anyways, what brings you to the Blacksmith Guild late at night? Surely, it's not just to talk to me about your land, right?"
"Of course not." Valyr shook his head before giving Julian a playful smile. "If anything, I have
a question."
"Does the Blacksmith Guild perhaps have an Elder Wyvern Core available?"
