Chapter 341: Godly Meeting

Chapter 341: Godly Meeting

"Home? What do you mean?" Adam asked. "I'll be gone from here in two hours, aren't I?" "No." Mistress Death shook her head. "A part of you will."

"What do you mean by that?"

"The players will never stay here." Mistress Death said. "That's what you think, right?"

"Yeah..." Adam nodded with a frown.

"A part of you will leave. A version with your memories, minus the memories of this place." Mistress Death pointed at him. "However, you will stay here for all eternity."

"What the hell is that?" Adam felt his heart beat rapidly. "I can't leave?"

"Death is death." She said. "It wouldn't be much of a death if you can just leave."

'I can log off at least, right?' Adam checked his interface and breathed a sigh of relief that logging off was still an option.

'How does that work, though? I will forget all my memories every time I log back in and off from this place?

'That doesn't really make sense.

'But I will get fake memories of my other self that will leave this place in two hours. That's so confusing and a complete mind-fuck. Why was such a thing created?'

"I know it takes time to get used to." She said. "However, this place is bliss."

"Can everyone enter this place?" Adam asked. "Even those who've drenched their hands with blood of the innocents?"

"Yes, everyone." Mistress Death said. "This place will cure the malicious hearts."

"That's why the level and strength are reset." Adam said. "It's because a new version of ourselves will appear in the New World."

"That's right." She nodded.

"That means if this me leaves this place, I keep my strength and level, correct?" Adam asked.

"Yes, but before you get any wild ideas, you're not allowed to leave." Mistress Death said with her sweet voice. "That's what God Almighty Himself has decreed."

"I think you're a sweet lady, but..." Adam stood up and cracked his neck. "Unfortunately, I have to rebel against that."

"I love your rebellious spirit." Mistress Death stood up and caressed his cheek. "Why would you want to leave? You can have everything you've ever wanted right here with me."

"..." Adam looked at her beautiful face and said. "I have to go back."

"I can't help you with that." Mistress Death said sadly. "Only one person can help you with that, and He has much bigger problems on His plate. I am sorry."

"I understand." Adam turned around and headed off to the exit. "I will find another way out."

Mistress Death smiled and sat back down on her pillow.

"Goodbye, Adam."

...

Walking through the street, Adam kept his hands inside his pockets, his mind running ideas.

It was clear that he didn't really belong to this place, as everyone else wore white clothes while he was wearing ragged black clothes.

At that moment, he bumped shoulders with someone.

"Ah, I am sorry!"

Adam turned to look at the person and aid, "That's alr-"

However, at that moment, his words got stuck inside his throat as he saw someone he didn't expect to see.

"Victor?"

"Ah, it is you." Victor Vash smiled kindly and shook his head. "Long time no see!"

"Eh?" Adam frowned. "What the hell happened to you?"

"This place..." Victor looked around with a smile on his face. "Saved me. I know I was a hideous, disgusting piece of human trash. I killed, stole, and lied without any regard for others. But now, I have found redemption."

"..." Adam was speechless.

"It was nice to meet you again." Victor patted him on the shoulder. "I've forgiven you! I hope you can forgive me as well!"

Adam kept walking away, a weird feeling in his chest.

He never expected this place to actually be able to fix the malicious hearts of others.

However, unfortunately enough, the other self that returned to the New World didn't have any memories of the afterlife.

Thus, they stayed the exact same as they were before their deaths.

Therefore, this place was, in a sense, quite useless in making the world a better place.

"Hey, young man."

Adam stopped walking and saw a pair of men sitting in the cafe's outdoor patio, one of whom was waving him over.

"Mind we have a word with you?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Uh, alright?" Adam took a seat across them and thought that the two men looked strange.

The man sitting on the left had a pale white face with a face that made it unclear whether he was actually a young man or elderly.

The eyes were pale white with snow-white hair, and he wore white robes that seemed different from what others in the afterlife wore.

The man on the right had a pale, round-shaped face with black eyes and black hair. There was

a crown of thorns on his head, and he wore a dark cloak.

He was the only one beside Adam who was wearing anything other than a white outfit.

"Who are you two?" Adam asked, knowing that they were different from others here.

"Seek your heart." The man on the right said. "You will find the answer faster than you think."

Confused, but he tried so, and as he kept staring at the two men, an answer popped up in his

mind suddenly.

"That's not possible..." Adam said hesitatingly.

"Is it not?"

"You're..." Adam looked at the man on the left. "God Almighty?"

God Almighty chuckled and took a sip of his tea.

"And you're..." Adam turned to the man on the right and felt a strange connection. "Little

God."

"Mm." Little God nodded. "Our meeting should've come sooner, but better late than never,

right?"

"Why are you two here?" Adam didn't know how to act.

He was still thinking that the God Almighty, the ruler of this land, must've been some developer of Mortal Online who had god complex.

Yet he wasn't too sure anymore.

"To explain everything." God Almighty said. "The truth about your regression."

"?!" Adam's eyes widened in shock. "Regression? You know..."

At that moment, he realized that God Almighty was no mere game developer.

'He knows... Are these two responsible for it? But how...'
