Chapter 332: Cooperation

Chapter 332: Chapter 332: Cooperation

“No, you spared me once, I must return the favor,” Song Yiyi said with a melancholy look as she stood up.

Li Yao waved his hand and said, “There’s no need, we’re all on the same team. Helping each other is only natural.”

“I can’t accept that. I can’t stand owing someone else a favor. I must return it,” Song Yiyi declared earnestly.

Li Yao smiled wryly and responded, “But I genuinely don’t need it. I can handle this on my own. I don’t want others to see me working with someone from the Dark Camp. I still want to maintain my credibility in the Light Faction.”

If this situation were happening somewhere else, Li Yao would have been open to making a friend. But under these circumstances, he didn’t want to continue collaborating with her. If a high-level NPC were to see him, he might lose his identity, which would be a real waste.

If he couldn’t complete his mission and lost his blueprint of the Temple of the Moon God, the losses would be too much to bear.

The blueprint of the Temple of the Moon God was extremely valuable. Many creatures followed the Moon God, but only the Ancient Elves had an official temple where they could commune with the god.

It was only by exploring the Abyss Temple earlier that he’d managed to obtain it. Otherwise, obtaining the blueprint of the Moon God’s temple would have been a nearly impossible task.

There were many gods in The Ancient God World, so obtaining a temple blueprint normally wouldn’t be difficult. But most of these gods were just half-gods, and the difference between a Half-God and a True God was immense.

In his previous life, there were countless guilds, each serving different gods. But among them, only one or two served the Moon God. The Moon God’s temple was too high-level – low-ranking guilds couldn’t build it so they could only serve lower-level gods with less divine power.

Depending on the rank of the god they served, guilds had to choose gods from the same series, or at least ones that didn’t conflict with each other. If not, they wouldn’t be able to enjoy any benefits from their respective gods.

“Rest assured. When I make a promise, I keep it. I swear I won’t sneak attack you, just watch,” Song Yiyi ensured, then went into stealth mode.

“Trust you? Yeah, right,” Li Yao thought inwardly.

However, since her figure could be detected by the Sonar Arrow, Li Yao felt slightly more at ease. She started sneaking in the direction Li Yao had pointed his bow and arrows to earlier.

Li Yao didn’t waste time on chit-chat. He drew his bow and aimed directly at a Moon Guardian, who had no protection from the moon shadows at the time.

The tier three Charged Arrow shot out. In the mist, whether it was due to night vision or not, it was impossible to see anything. One could only rely on sound or sensing to identify enemies.

Although the Flare had its limitations and could only illuminate a small area, the Sonar Arrow was barely affected.

Thud…

It turned out that five players had come. They were all either Moon Guardians or Priests of Moon, with only one Paladin.

Li Yao’s target was the Paladin. If given the opportunity, his Shield and Holy Shield were tricky skills. When combined with other players and control skills, it would be infinitely troublesome.

The Paladin was not unprepared. In fact, the five players weren’t part of the same team, but they had heard vague sounds coming from this direction and decided to check it out.

The two teams almost started a fight when they bumped into each other. After some negotiations, the two teams decided to unite and deal with the wanted criminal together.

The Paladin was quite experienced and vigilant, but Li Yao could perceive his state. In an unguarded moment, the Paladin’s Shield slightly moved away from his neck.

Just then, a tier three Charged Arrow shot out and went straight through his throat.

A flare of white soul light flickered, and the Paladin was immediately down, his life completely depleted.

“Be careful, we’re under attack!” a nearby Moon Guardian yelled out.

“The Dark Camp has a high-level Hunter,” a Priest of Moon on the left exclaimed in surprise. “Wait, I’ll cast the Guiding Light of the Moon.”

“You won’t get the chance,” Song Yiyi retorted, as her dagger pierced the back of the Priest of Moon’s head.

All of them were shocked. The bounty had been for only one person, so when the first Steel Arrow took out the Paladin, they had focused their attention on where the arrows had come from. None of them had expected someone to be behind them.

Murder by ambush!

Just as the Guiding Light of the Moon was about to be cast, the Priest of Moon was stunned by the surprise attack.

Thud…

As she was stunned, a Steel Arrow infused with an Arcane glow shot through, piercing her throat. The Moon Shadow spell also had a duration, and she had planned to cast it once her target was locked. But she didn’t anticipate the sneak attack. Caught in her tracks, Li Yao shot another arrow.

The second player was down, changing the odds from five against three to three against two.

The Moon Guardian on the left reacted quickly and turned to attack. His weapon glowed silver, “You two go after the Hunter. I’ll deal with this thief.”

Moon Crescent Slash!

The attack sliced Song Yiyi into pieces, but before he could celebrate, she reappeared behind him.

Like a cape transformed into countless strands, she swiftly ensnared the Guardian who had sensed something was off and was preparing to turn around.

Thud…

At the same time, another Steel Arrow whistled past Song Yiyi’s ear, striking down the third player.

“You actually wanted to kill me,” Song Yiyi suddenly turned around.

“You’re overthinking it,” Li Yao responded indifferently. “You were simply in the way of my arrow.”

“I can take care of this myself. This is my prey,” Song Yiyi retorted coldly.

“It’s also my prey. If you’re capable, then take one down yourself. After all, there are still two left,” Li Yao replied.

The remaining two players, a Priest of Moon and a Moon Guardian, stood back to back, seething with anger.

The Moon Guardian wielded a shield, facing Song Yiyi. The Priest of Moon had summoned a moon shadow to stand in front of her, on guard against Li Yao.

At that moment, the two players were dumbfounded. The target of their bounty was supposed to be only one person, but why had there become two?

Especially the invisible Hunter, they couldn’t see him at all, yet he kept shooting arrows with deadly precision. It was utterly terrifying.

The Priest of Moon cast the Guiding Light of the Moon, but the problem was that after being marked, her figure would light up like a lamp. However, they could only see a faint trace of light, extremely blurry. Despite not being able to see his figure, he still shot with such deadly accuracy.

But that was good enough. After being marked, many of the Priest of Moon’s spells were locking spells.

“It’s your turn,” Li Yao said, beginning to charge his arrows again.

Whoosh…

The Shadow Warrior appeared between the two of them. The daggers in her hand directly stabbed the Priest of Moon, interrupting her spellcasting.

The Moon Guardian was enraged and attacked the Shadow Warrior. But, in that split moment…

As the Moon Guardian attacked the Shadow Warrior, Song Yiyi’s Hook Lock shot out like lightning, hooking onto the Priest of Moon’s back. The Priest of Moon was instantly pulled towards Song Yiyi, interrupting her spellcasting again.

Just as the Priest of Moon was being pulled away, another Steel Arrow shot through the air.

Thud…

The Moon Guardian, who was attacking the Shadow Warrior, lost the Priest of Moon’s protection and was immediately hit, collapsing on the spot.

Stab in the back! Stab in the back!

Charged Arrow!

The two of them cooperated and took down the remaining two players. Though it was their first time working together, they functioned almost like a well-drilled team…
