MMA System: I Will Be Pound For Pound Goat

Chapter 263 Scanning the Competition

As Damon thought about what the new feature of the system meant, he smiled and leaned back in his chair.

He wasn't even aware of how late it was; the night was still and quiet outside, but his mind was busy.

"Does this mean I could scan the whole division?" he muttered to himself, his fingers hovering over the system interface. "Hell, the entire UFA?"

It was a crazy, even impossible, idea.

The best strategic advantage was being able to break down every possible opponent in the company, their weaknesses, strengths, and tendencies.

No coach, no analyst, no amount of tape study could provide this level of insight so efficiently.

He opened the [Scan Fighter] tab again. In his room's dim light, the sleek golden interface gave off a soft glow.

The option to add fighters felt limitless. A sly grin spread across his face as he imagined the possibilities.

"That's just crazy," he whispered, shaking his head.

It wasn't enough to just have an edge; it was an opportunity to be unbeatable and ready for his opponents in a way that no one else could.

But then he stopped, his smirk fading slightly as he considered something else. "Would it even feel fair?"

The thought was brief, fleeting, and almost amusing to him. After all, in this game, you used every advantage you had.

Damon smirked, brushing the fleeting thought aside. Fair? That wasn't the question. The real question was, if you had it, would you not use it?

He chuckled quietly to himself, shaking his head. The answer was obvious. If he wanted to be the best, he had to use every tool at his disposal.

"Alright," he muttered, letting out a breath as he sank deeper into the bed. "Time to sleep now."

His body relaxed, the adrenaline from his thoughts finally subsiding.

He still had an early flight in the morning, and no amount of excitement or planning would change that.

With a final glance at the glowing interface, he shut his eyes, ready to let the night take him.

.

.

.

It was early in the morning, and Damon was already up, washing off the sleep.

After a quick shower, he got dressed, his movements brisk and casual, still shaking off the grogginess.

Grabbing his bag, he made his way outside, where Victor was waiting in the car.

Experience more on empire

Victor was grinning as Damon slid into the passenger seat. "Morning, kid. Got some good news for you."

Damon leaned back, raising an eyebrow. "Morning. Wassup?" he asked casually, buckling his seatbelt.

Victor started the car, pulling smoothly onto the road toward the airport. "Alright, so you know the fight pay comes in a few days as usual, but that's not what I'm talking about," he began, glancing at Damon with a smirk. "See, your performance was so damn impressive, they decided to give you the bonus."

Damon's eyes widened.

"Bonus?!" he repeated.

It wasn't just the fact that $50,000 was a huge amount of money on its own, although that was definitely part of it.

The real reason his heart jumped was because of the system.

If the contract feature worked on bonuses too, like it had with his fight pay, this wasn't just $50,000.

It was $500,000.

The math was already spinning in his head. The fight pay itself was $25,000, but with the system's 10x multiplier, it turned into $250,000.

Combined with the bonus, that was $750,000. Adding it to the $200,000 he already had…

His chest tightened. $950,000.

An astronomical amount. Damon stared out the window, his brain jacked on the possibilities.

A car? A house? New gear? Everything he'd ever dreamed of, all new, all fresh.

He couldn't stop the grin spreading across his face.

Victor glanced at him, chuckling. "I'm guessing by the look on your face you're already spending it in your head."

Damon laughed softly, shaking his head. "Not yet," he lied, leaning his elbow on the window. "But maybe soon."

Victor shook his head with a chuckle. "Haha, spend your money, kid. You fight for it. But make sure you save some. If you ever need financial advice, I'm just a call away."

Damon glanced at Victor, appreciation flickering in his eyes. .

The man had been with him since the start of his professional journey, guiding him through the chaos. "I should probably give you your cut," Damon said, his voice light but sincere.

Victor's foot hesitated on the gas, almost stopping the car, but he quickly regained pace.

His expression turned stern as he replied, "Kid, I don't give you opportunities so you can pay me back in money. I have plenty of that."

Damon nodded, a small smile forming. "Fair enough."

Victor's tone softened slightly, but his words carried weight. "But if you really want to help me out, I'll tell you when you start entering the ranks. I do need a star who can be my promotional use."

Damon smirked at the comment, leaning back in his seat. "Anytime," he said confidently.

Victor glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, his lips twitching into a faint smile. "Good. Just don't forget who helped get you there, alright?"

"Never," Damon replied, his voice firm. "You've been there since the beginning."

Victor shook his head with a small laugh. "No, kid... I meant your mother. And that friend of yours, Joey. Mostly your mother. Don't forget where you come from."

Damon nodded, his tone softening. "Got it. I won't." Then, almost as an afterthought, he added, "Oh, by the way, you said you knew Joey's brother. The one in the UFA."

Victor sighed, his expression becoming more serious. "Yeah, I did. The kid was just like you, full of potential. Only bigger, stronger. He did well for himself, got into a better gym. Haven't heard from him since then, though. What's Joey say about him? How's he doing?"

Damon shrugged, leaning back in his seat. "Honestly, I've never really asked. Joey doesn't bring him up much. The only time he even mentioned his brother was years ago."

Victor nodded thoughtfully, his hands steady on the wheel. "That's a shame. The kid had talent. UFA's a tough place, though. I've been busy lately, so I don't keep up with UFA news. Except... well about you"
