1815 Things Would Get Complicated
No one was in the corridor, but Yang Yi knew that his every action was being recorded by the surveillance cameras overhead.
Thank you readers!
After contemplating briefly, he wanted to go back to the control room. Before he figured out the situation at the base, it was unwise for him to blow his cover.
When Yang Yi got to the control room, he instinctively raised his hand. Just as he was about to press the button on his collar, he noticed the retina scanner at the door deactivated.
It was still active when he went to the bathroom. Why was it off now?
Yang Yi felt puzzled. He did not bother turning on the signal jammer. Instead, he walked straight into the control room.
Since the alarm in zone A had sounded, everyone in the tech department was very busy. Yang Yi glanced at the retina scanner briefly before he walked toward his colleagues inside the room.
“What do you need me to do?” he asked softly.
His colleague raised his head and glanced at him. “Someone entered zone A. Why don’t you keep an eye on the surveillance on the northeast side of zone A? If you notice anything wrong, let the security team know.”
A look of surprise swept across Yang Yi’s eyes. He hurriedly nodded. “Okay then.”
“Mr. Liang has already gone to zone A. We can only hope that he will catch the intruder as soon as possible. Otherwise, our lives are going to be hard in the hours to come.” His colleague sighed.
Yang Yi’s heart skipped a beat. Even though he entered the base not long ago, he had already done his homework about the people managing the base.
Mr. Liang was on good terms with the leader of the base, King. Also, he was in charge of the central district.
Yang Yi knew nothing about Liang Qiu’s abilities, but he must be good considering his status at the base.
Yang Yi thought about Huo Yao’s request. It was obvious enough that the base intruder was Huo Yao’s friend.
If Liang Qiu had personally gone over to nab the culprit, things would get complicated.

Meanwhile, on the other end.
Min Yu and Huo Yao had already driven to the small town.
The small town was built beside a mountain. Unlike typically European small towns with distinct streets and paths, the architecture was very unusual. The residences dotted the mountains in twos and threes making the place look like a modern tribe.
When Huo Yao got out of the car, she could see long mountain ridges. They looked primitive from a distance.
No one would have expected that a disgusting and unethical experimental research base could be found in this lovely, small town.
“What are you looking at?” After Min Yu closed the car door, he looked up and saw Huo Yao in a daze, so he could not help asking.
Huo Yao waved her hand. “The scenery is simply beautiful.”
Min Yu raised his brow. If she was less patronizing, he might have bought her words.
Zhuo Yun was already in the small town taking care of things. He nodded reverently and showed them to a two-story building.
Zhuo Yun had rented the place temporarily to use it as his rendezvous point with Yang Yi.
“Yang Yi just sent a message ten minutes ago. Someone has infiltrated the base, so the place is on high alert.” Zhuo Yun promptly told them the news.
Huo Yao leaned into the seat backrest holding her phone while she contemplated.
She had just sent Cool Autumn a message, but she did not hear back from him. Considering his chatty personality, this was an abnormal reaction.
Min Yu glanced at the quiet Huo Yao. “Do you think it’s your friend?”
Huo Yao gathered her thoughts. She pondered for a few seconds and said, “Maybe.”
