Chapter 220 Collecting Fragments.
2 days later
The ground quivered beneath their feet, a tangible proof of the natural forces that lay dormant within Kilauea Volcano.
Its presence loomed over everyone on the island, a majestic and fearsome sight that commanded respect and stirred danger in some.
Kilauea, known as the fiery heart of the island, possessed an otherworldly allure. Its molten core, a cauldron of liquid fire, surged with unrestrained power.
As they stood on the mouth of the volcano, their gazes were drawn to the mesmerizing display before them.
It was midnight but the Fiery hues of orange and red danced within the depths of the volcano, making everything bright and warm.
"This would be easier if my power is not being suppressed ," Vincent spoke, expressing his little frustration with the constraints that still held him back.
After he exited his domain, he sensed a significant improvement in the quality of his energy, but the quantity he could release remained limited to a mere 20%.
It's not like he lost 80% of his power, but it simply means that he can only output a maximum of 20% at a given time.
Consider Fenrir's energy beam, for example.
Inside his domain, it manifested at its full 100% power, but outside this protective realm, he could only release a mere fifth of its potential due to the world's restricting influence.
The world continued to suppressed the full extent of his abilities, despite his freedom from the constraints of fate.
The only escape from this constraint was through completing the medallion.
By doing so, Elizabeth could be resurrected, and with her unlimited energy, they could obliterate this limiter once and for all, raising this world's energy level once again.
Though his actions might appear greedy and evil, he understood that this was the best course of action after checking Fenrir's memory.
He knew that Fate would inevitably intervene and reset the planet once it discovered that the thread of destiny had been severed. Therefore, he needed to pursue even greater power before that decisive moment arrived.
[Reset: Destroy the Planet]
"Are you sure you want to come with me?" He asked after he finished contemplating.
"Yeah, I can tolerate this much heat," Erika replied.
Vampires typically have a lower tolerance for fire than werewolves, but her ice element made her an exception.
"Alright, let's go," Vincent signaled as he jumped first, and Erika swiftly followed suit.
As they descended further into the heart of the volcano, the intensity of the heat intensifies. Lava flowed freely, casting an ominous glow upon the rugged walls.
But despite the scorching environment, Vincent appeared unfazed. He had already absorbed Diablo's essence, granting him protection against fire.
The searing heat that would have overwhelmed others seemed to have little effect on him as he pressed forward
Erika, on the other hand, used her powers to create an ice armor, combining it with the effect of her Divine Armaments.
The scorching heat of the volcano was no match for her barrier, as it remained strong against the intense environment.
Finally after descending for a couple of minutes ,they finally landed on the bottom.
Erika used her ice powers to cool down a portion of the magma floor, creating a platform for them to stand on safely.
"I can feel the fragment," he said as he scanned the surroundings and sensed that the fragment was located beneath the magma.
Determined to reach it, he started freezing the magma to create a path that would lead him to the source of the fragment's energy.
However, after taking a few steps, the earth began to shake, hinting at possible danger ahead.
"Is it erupting?" he asked calmly.
An eruption was not something that could threaten him now. Even with his suppressed power, he knew he could still freeze the whole place if he was given enough time.
But before he could observe the situation, a colossal entity erupted from the molten depths.
"GRRRRRRRRR""
A massive, squirming mass of lava revealed itself; it had no eyes, just a flowing, molten form.
"The fragment!"
Erika's voice cut through the chaos as she spotted the fragment nestled within the creature's body.
"Domain! " Swiftly, she called upon her domain, summoning her powers to encase the creature within her icy realm.
However, what unfolded next caught her off guard. Instead of succumbing to her icy domain, a remarkable phenomenon occurred.
The clash between her domain and the creature's molten form caused a reaction beyond her expectations.
The domain split into two distinct sides—one infused with ice and the other engulfed in seething lava.
The contrasting forces within the divided domain wrestled against each other, a clash of opposing elements vying for dominance.
"Can this creature also cast a domain?" he mused aloud.
He could sense that the magma-like creature they encountered was not that of a supernatural being, but rather a powerful supernatural creature.
Supernatural creatures don't typically possess much intelligence, making it nearly impossible for them to have a domain. However, it appeared that his fragment had granted it the ability to create a fake one.
In fact , what surprised him more was that this creature had managed to create a fake domain that was on par with Erika.
"No, it's not that it's on par with Erika, but rather it has a home advantage inside this volcano," he analyzed the situation.
He could sense that the creature was drawing a significant amount of energy from the volcano, which was bolstering its power and allowing it to create a formidable domain.
"So elemental-based domains can be enhanced like this," he mused, touching his chin in deep contemplation.
He recalled that Fenrir's domain had not exhibited any trace of elements in his memories, which meant he couldn't draw from that experience in this situation.
"Let me handle this," Erika spoke with a determined glint in her eyes. Having missed the battle against Diablo, she was now eager for a fight.
Vincent could easily end the battle in an instant, but she wanted the chance to test her abilities and face this powerful creature head-on.
He understood her desire and nodded in agreement.
He knew that she was more than capable of handling the situation. With a confident smile, he stepped back, allowing her to take the lead.
BOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
As the battle unfolded, Erika unleashed her ice-based powers. The freezing aura filled the domain, countering the scorching heat of the volcano.
She deftly dodged the creature's attacks and launched powerful ice strikes, testing the limits of her opponent.
As the battle raged on, Vincent continued to analyze the situation, observing the creature's movements and weaknesses.
However after a couple of exchanges it became evident that no matter how powerful the creature was, it was no match for Erika. Her power overwhelmed it, and with a final strike, she dealt a decisive blow.
BOOOOOOM!
The creature's resistance crumbled, and it finally fell, defeated.
"Here," she said, handing the fragment to him. "This should bring us one step closer to our goal."
"Thank you, Erika. You handled that battle pretty easy."
Erika smiled, her eyes gleaming with pride.
"It was my pleasure. I couldn't let you have all the fun, now could I?"
Vincent chuckled, appreciating Erika's spunky attitude.
"You're right. It's good to have someone to share the excitement with. Now, let's go back to the resort; the other girls are waiting," he said with a smile.
