Lord MMORPG: The Demon Progenietor

Chapter 69 Family problems (2)

Xander didn't forget what she wore this morning before she left the base. Also, she was supposed to be going home by now.

Sandra looked up, her eyes teary as she has been thinking about her family and their true nature. Nothing was confirmed but the theory made so much sense and it made her to not want to believe it at all.

Seeing Sandra teary Xander felt a sharp pain in his chest but he immediately tapped his chest twice before sitting beside her.

"What's wrong?" Xander asked as the wind graced his skin and made his short black hair flutter backwards, revealing his beautiful crimson eyes.

Sandra didn't answer his question immediately and curled her legs before burying her head in her arms as she folded them.

Xander closed his eyes, the sound of running water and the gentle wind reaching his ears, calming him down and a subtle smile formed on his face as he he at peace.

After thirty minutes (or more) the sweet, soothing quietness of the park was disrupted as Sandra's voice came from beside him.

"It's about my dad."

Xander opened his eyes to look at Sandra. She wasn't crying anymore. Maybe she wasn't crying at all, who knows.

"What about him?"

"I overheard some people in the under-base talking about my dad's relation to the ghoulshippers."

Xander's heart skipped a beat but he kept quiet, his expression as tranquil as ever.

"But you don't believe that."

Sandra sighed. "I don't know. I don't believe it. My dad is not that kind of man. He can't even kill a rat and now they... call him a mass murderer."

Her voice was low and was filled with confusion and disbelief.

"Why don't you just ask him yourself? You're his daughter." Xander said, raising a brow.

At the end Sandra finally agreed to go and confront her father. Xander's peaceful afternoon was cancelled.

'At least I'll have something to do.' He thought as he walked slowly beside Sandra.

After more than an hour of walking in silence they finally got to a wide estate. There were soldiers in white... not the camouflaged uniform they wore before.

They were elites!

'So the government stationed some of them here too. Those bastards. Companies and industries are being destroyed and they made people that can stop it to protect them while they eat the best food, and the...'

As they reached the gate of the estate Sandra went towards the soldier that was there and then they began speaking.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

This was normal routine. One would have to prove their identity to enter a high level place which is reserved for high class citizens of the country.

Anyways, it seemed like the guards there approved of Sandra and they opened the big metal gates for her to enter. She then signaled for Xander to come along and he did.

'Why would these idiots spend their last days guarding this place? What could the president possibly offer that would be worth more than their lives?' Xander couldn't help but think as he was in shock.

Walking along the pathway beside the road Xander and Sandra saw more and more white clothed individuals. They scanned the young adults as they passed.

After walking for another twenty minutes they arrived at a huge, golden gate which looked both fancy and strong.

There was a scanner beside the gate and Sandra moved towards it. A beam of light shot out of it and scanned her face.

"Facial recognition finished. Accepted." A computer like voice rang out from the scanner.

'Wow. I've always liked technological stuff.' Xander thought as he marveled at the technology the government kept for themselves.

Xander looked at Sandra and saw her looking down, clenching her fists. She seemed nervous.

Xander patted her back as he said in a soft tone, "I'm here. You don't need to worry."

As Sandra looked at Xander's increasingly handsome face it was as if her day got brighter. Her worry and fear just left her and she felt energized again.

"Okay let's go."

They both walked into the gate that opened when Sandra's face was scanned and Xander looked at the beautiful scenery.

The lawn had smoothly trimmed grass and there were fountains with statues of... wait... what were those?

Xander couldn't tell what they were. The creature had a smooth scalp and a bald head, it's long ears had multiple holes in them and the rest of their body looked human.

"What are those?" Xander couldn't help but ask.

"Oh. I don't know what they are either. My dad said that they are ancient creatures from another realm or world or dimension. It sounds even more stupid now that I repeat it."

It might have sounded stupid but to Xander it didn't at all as he furrowed his brows in anger as he remembered something his dad told him.

"The ghouls are terrifying monsters in another world and the ghoulshippers seek to bring them here to earth to rain judgement upon humans."

At the end Xander could only conclude one thing:

'He's one of them.'

The duo later stood in front of a large, complex, luxurious building painted in white. In front of the building was a pool and people in maids uniforms were walking around taking care of the place. They immediately spotted Sandra and they all started chatting.

"Look. The young mistress is back."

"That's great news. I thought she died."

"She should've stayed away."

"Why did you say that?"

"I'll tell you later. They could hear us."

The maids then continued what they were doing. Xander didn't think much about their words and looked at Sandra.

"I think I should wait outside. Or, let's go together. I'll wait outside of his room or wherever he is." Xander said and Sandra nodded before pushing the glass doors open.

She felt scared that all she heard at the base was true. She felt scared that her father might be a mass murderer. She was scared of losing him as she knew that once Xander's dad finds out (which is already guaranteed) they will all come for her dad and he might not live to see another day.

Upon entering the building Sandra walked past the living room and headed upstairs with Xander. They soon got to a room and they both heard clicking sounds coming from inside the room and she opened the door by waving her hand in front of it.
