Chapter 213: Chapter 213 - Overwhelmed by Hordes of Monsters
The battle began, and the monsters charged toward Skywarden like a pack of predators chasing their prey. There were many of them, spreading out, but all heading in the same direction.
"Is this some kind of prank?" Broken wondered aloud.
Skywarden smashed his shield into a giant scorpion approaching him. The impact sent the creature hurtling backwards, crashing into other monsters. He repeated this with every monster that came at him from the front. There were so many of them that even the monsters struggled to get close.
Hovering in the air, Elincia's body was wrapped in blue lightning. One explosion of lightning after another lit up the night, raining down on the monsters below. Each strike created massive blasts, hurling the creatures through the air with immense damage.
"Have they been saving their skills this whole time?" Broken mused to himself.
Livelywood, Charmelyn, and Broken formed a protective circle around Starfall, who was positioned at the center, valiantly trying to fend off the encroaching monsters surging forth from Skywarden's domain.
Livelywood enveloped in a radiant golden aura, moved with incredible speed, almost as if he were dancing. His graceful yet powerful swings cleaved through the monsters with stunning precision, leaving a trail of carnage in their wake.
In stark contrast, Charmelyn darted swiftly, dodging and creating illusions of herself. Her rapid movements allowed her to strike from multiple angles, her blade flashing as she repeatedly pierced her foes before delivering a final, decisive decapitation.
Despite their efforts, the sheer volume of monsters attacking from every direction became overwhelming.
"Help!" Starfall's desperate cry cut through the chaos.
All eyes snapped towards her just in time to see a monstrous scorpion's pincers clamp down around her waist, lifting her high into the air. Panic surged through the group.
Livelywood instantly responded, racing to her aid, but his leg was abruptly ensnared by a monstrous sandworm erupting from the ground. Meanwhile, Starfall was brutally flung high into the swarm of monsters. Time was running out; they had to save her.
Broken didn't hesitate. He dropped his spear, knowing there was no time to store it in his inventory. Instead, he armed himself with the Moonvine Knuckles.
[Nature Warp Strike (Active Skill)]
From his gauntlets, wild vines shot forth, weaving their way toward Starfall and wrapping around her, arresting her fall. With a swift tug, Broken reeled her in, suspending her mid-air and pulling her towards him.
"Polly!" he called out.
Immediately, his summon Polly appeared, her massive form providing a landing spot for Starfall as she descended. Polly then cloned herself, each duplicate working to fend off the encroaching monsters, creating a clear path back toward Broken and his charge.
Broken leaped onto Polly's back, situating himself behind Starfall.
"I'm getting Starfall out of here!" he shouted over the din of battle.
"Broken, do you think you can just decide that on your own?!" Skywarden's voice boomed, filled with frustration.
Broken glanced upwards. Elincia was still amidst the thick of the battle, her colossal spells devastating the monsters below. Hadn't she noticed how dire their situation had become? Why hadn't she given the order to retreat?
Broken ran backward to a spot with fewer monsters. His spear was still stuck in the ground, and no other player could retrieve it for him.
Polly dashed and leaped each time a monster tried to attack.
"Starfall, are you okay? Can you attack from on top of Polly? It's better if you ride her," he said hurriedly.
Broken held onto Starfall from behind to keep her from falling off each time Polly jumped to dodge an attack. Polly even leaped over the bodies of monsters as she ran.
"I can do it. I'll try my best," Starfall replied firmly.
Broken tried to loosen his grip. Starfall, who initially struggled to hold onto Polly, began to cast her skills with one hand. Magic circles appeared in the air once again, and she started to attack.
"I'm okay, Broken," she said, trying to maintain her position.
"Okay," Broken responded and then jumped off Polly, attempting to rejoin the others. Polly also tried to stay as close to the group as possible.
Livelywood, knowing Starfall was now in a safer position, seemed to unleash his full potential. He charged forward towards the throng of monsters and immediately began slashing with his sword. He ducked, slicing at their legs, then leaped high and somersaulted in the air, driving his sword into a monster's head with precision, swiftly destroying it.
He continued his acrobatic leaps, and as he descended, his sword cleaved through a monster, splitting it in two. It was as if he had become one with his weapon.
"Should I reconsider using so many different types of weapons?" Broken wondered as he watched Livelywood fight. The title of the Swordmaster Prodigy suited Livelywood perfectly.
One of the skills from the Moonvine Knuckles was Summon the Guardian, which allowed him to summon Dendros for 15 minutes with a 30-minute cooldown. With that in mind, he quickly ran back to retrieve his spear. Once he was close, he promptly cast the skill.
[Summon the Guardian (Active Skill)]
Broken threw the knuckles into the air.
In an extraordinary spectacle, streaks of vines, tree roots, and branches converged in mid-air, knitting together to form a tall, lean figure- a warrior of nature. The newly formed Dendros immediately grabbed the knuckles, spiraling into action. Vines shot out from his fists, targeting a monster that had been sneaking up on Charmelyn from behind. With a swift strike, Dendros felled the creature.
Broken reclaimed his spear, twirling it expertly to create a defensive barrier around himself, pushing the encroaching monsters back.
[Ocean's Wrath (Active Skill)]
In response, waves manifested in front of him, surging forward with the force of a tidal wave, sweeping the monsters back in their relentless assault.
[Sea of Storms (Active Skill)]
Dozens of magical circles materialized in the sky above, and in an awe-inspiring torrent, spears formed from glittering water began to descend. The spears sparkled against the night sky, already alive with the explosions and lightning from Elincia's own potent spells.
The bombardment of water spears, combined with the crackling lightning, created an electrifying symphony of battle. The field below transformed into a chaotic maelstrom, where massive damage was meted out to the monsters who dared to challenge them. It was a breathtaking display of skill, coordination, and raw power, turning the tide of battle in their

Broken swiftly moved forward using his spear. He had learned spear techniques from the Martial Arts Center, including basic maneuvers like thrusting, sweeping, and spinning. Although it was only the fundamentals, he was proficient enough to execute powerful spins
and slashes with his spear.
Here, he could truly feel the power of his skills and the difference in his speed compared to the real world. The spear's damage output, along with the protective barrier granted by its
passive skills, made him formidable.
He cast another skill.
[Boar's Flood (Active Skill)]
Suddenly, water burst into the air as if from an unknown source. It quickly exploded
outwards, forming a circular shape that morphed into a massive wild boar. When fully formed, the wild boar caused an explosion, sending shockwaves in all directions. The wild boar rampaged wildly, crashing into everything around it.
Were they winning now?
No! It was clear that Skywarden's movements were slowing down, and Charmelyn was visibly injured, with a large gash on her thigh and another on her back. Meanwhile, Starfall was heavily occupied, making it difficult for her to provide adequate support. The situation was
deteriorating rapidly.
Could they continue until the end?
Charmelyn needed healing immediately, but neither Skywarden nor Elincia had given the order to retreat. At that moment, a monster struck Skywarden, sending him flying backward and causing the protective shield around them to vanish.
Broken assessed the situation urgently. If Skywarden fell, they would all be overrun.
Where is Elincia? Why is she still floating... not responding?
The monsters were closing in. Livelywood was separated, and Charmelyn was in critical condition, almost impaled in her abdomen. Broken hurled the vines to pull Charmelyn just before her head could be devoured by a monster. He struggled to lift Charmelyn onto his back.
"Sorry... let me fight, I'm not defeated yet," Charmelyn pleaded.
"Charmelyn, I'm taking you to safety," he insisted.
Skywarden was now swarmed by monsters, teetering on the brink of defeat.
Broken clenched his fist, and a green glow of energy emerged from his hand. He looked up
towards Elincia in the air.
"Elincia?" he muttered.
He then continued, "Gaia... I summon you. I need your strength!" he called out.
