Chapter 152: Chapter 152 - The Guild's Proposal

Back to the Immortal Legacy, Broken, Freya, Elincia, Maylock, and Goldrich all gathered in a spacious meeting room at their lodging-a place that served as the designated meeting ground for members of The Ass Guild. Even though the room was large, it felt unusually empty, with only the five of them present.

As they settled into the room, Elincia glanced towards Broken and asked, "I heard you've successfully crafted a Legendary-grade Item. Is that true?"

Only Broken, Freya, and Ivana knew the details about the item's grade, but the blacksmiths in the smithy had quickly recognized its grade from the golden-energy waves it emitted as it was freshly crafted. News of its creation had spread like wildfire, especially since members of The Ass Guild had been paying particular attention to him.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Broken remained silent, not directly answering her question. Instead, he posed one of his own. "Do you believe a low-level player could actually craft a Legendary-grade item?"

Goldrich responded with a laugh. "Khi khi khi. Traditionally, Legendary-grade items could only be crafted by Master Rank Blacksmiths, as the history books tell us. But ever since the arrival of players, we've seen many incredible and seemingly impossible feats. I believe this could be another one."

Elincia smiled slightly and said, "Looks like Goldrich was correct-you go quiet when you don't want to share something."

Maylock added, "Let's not turn this conversation into an interrogation."

Elincia reassured Maylock, "Don't worry, he has every right to have his secrets. We're just making small talk to ease the tension."

Looking back at Broken, her expression softened. "Have you forgiven the misunderstanding between us?"

Broken gave a slight nod. "Yes," he said slowly. "I don't think there is any more reason for this matter to remain unresolved. Especially after you all kept your promise to assist me in collecting the materials I needed to craft my item."

He paused for a brief moment. "And I must thank you as well," he added. "I've gained a great deal from your help, even as you endured the aftermath of the raid battle incident."

Elincia smiled warmly in response. "Thanks, I appreciate that," she said. "We've also discussed many things with all the guild members, including the incident-but you don't need to worry about that."

The tension in the room seemed to melt away, and their conversation gradually transitioned to the true purpose of the meeting. Elincia took a deep breath before continuing, "Allow me to get straight to the point," she began. "Let me explain our current situation and our ultimate goal before we discuss our next plan."

She went into detail, describing the circumstances surrounding her Guild and Princess Alora's ascent to the Throne of Dissidia. The crux of the matter was that they wanted Broken to join forces with them to facilitate this mission and ensure that Princess Alora's rise to become the new ruler went smoothly.

Broken remained silent for a moment, his mind racing as he absorbed Elincia's words. A chill ran down his spine as he realized the gravity of the situation. He knew that he and The Ass Guild shared a common goal, but the key difference lay in their ultimate ambitions. While he wanted to claim the throne for himself, the Guild sought to place Princess Alora on it.

Still grappling with his own uncertainties, Broken pondered his aspirations to take over the throne. He understood that he needed to delve deeper into the quest to obtain The Sword of Dissidia. He wondered if there might be another way to acquire the sword without having to become the ruler of the Dissidia Kingdom.

However, it was clear that Broken had an S-rated quest that demanded he obtain the Sword of Dissidia-a feat that could only be achieved by becoming the ruler of the kingdom. He swallowed hard, the weight of that reality pressing down on him. Naturally, he wasn't entirely dismissing the potential of completing this quest, but he knew he needed more time to consider his plans carefully.

"What do you expect from me?" he asked hesitantly. "I'm less impactful than the entire membership of The Ass Guild."

Maylock then added, "Can you confidently meet Princess Alora with your current condition, Broken?"

Broken shook his head but offered no further explanation. After all, he had only met Princess Alora once and didn't fully grasp what The Ass Guild meant by suggesting they seek him out. "We still have a solution for this," Elincia continued. "Despite the opposition's efforts to cut off our communication with Princess Alora, there is still one hope we can rely on."

"And what is that?" Broken pressed.

"A significant event is about to take place in the capital," she explained. "It's a chance to join the court and serve Princess Alora by participating in a craftsmanship competition. The victor will be richly rewarded and held in high esteem."

"What kind of competition?"

"A competition to create new weapons and battle equipment for Her Highness Princess Alora," Elincia replied. "The winner of this competition will get the chance to work directly for Princess Alora, becoming her private crafter. With your skills in blacksmithing, I believe you have a great chance of winning this, Broken."

Maylock added, "This isn't just a small competition. Crafters from all over Dissidia and even from nearby countries will be participating. This event will be broadcast live on TV around the world. You could quickly become popular if you make a name for yourself in this big competition. Plus, there's a grand prize that hasn't been won by anyone for decades."

Broken slowly nodded, feeling genuinely intrigued by the word "competition." Not only did it promise a hefty reward, but the chance to work directly under Princess Alora also meant access to the palace and its exceptional facilities-a significant opportunity for him.

He then asked, "What if I take all of the rewards and opportunities for myself and prioritize my own interests over yours?"

Maylock's expression shifted. "In light of this, we would like to propose a mutually beneficial arrangement."

"Please, describe the details of this agreement," Broken urged.

"We are willing to be your partners in this grand mission," Maylock began. "If we can secure victory, you'll receive 10% of the overall results-10% for you and 90% for our Guild. Of course, nothing worth having comes without risk or effort. Nonetheless, I hope you recognize the value in our offer."

Broken paused, contemplating Maylock's words. The proposal was tempting, but he needed to weigh his options carefully.

He was uncertain of the future, yet he was pretty sure that The Ass Guild would be a dependable ally. If he could form a beneficial relationship with them, it would benefit him in

some way.

Yet, one thing nagged at him, sticking out like a sore thumb in his heart. He knew the rewards would be plentiful, and he agreed to help Princess Alora ascend as the new queen. But he had another quest—a far more demanding one: to seize control of the throne.

He paused, letting the tension in the room settle before he spoke.

"Listen, I'm not asking for a lot. All I want is the privilege to be the first to pick the most significant position available in the kingdom or choose from the rewards you've promised, with the fair 10% share you mentioned, if we win this war."

The room was silent as everyone took in his words.
