Chapter 506: Chapter 506: Water of Life_1
“`
“What did you say!”
Tristan Caldwell doubted he had heard correctly.
This was the water of life, a small sip of which nearly cost a life.
And this young man in front of him, actually wanted to down it?
“I said, I’ll down it, you do as you please.”
Julius Reed said to Tristan Caldwell, smiling.
“If you down it, I’ll drink double!”
Tristan Caldwell snorted softly, “Young man, stop bluffing!”
“Really drink double?”
Julius Reed asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Of course! My word is as good as gold! But let me be clear today. Whether you want to drink this water of life or not, you’ll have to drink,”
Tristan Caldwell said fiercely, “Otherwise, don’t blame me for getting rough and helping you drink it!”
After he spoke, his bodyguards immediately stood beside Julius Reed.
“Haha! Julius Reed, you’re as good as dead!”
Stacy Cook was overjoyed at the sight of his vendetta being avenged.
He, like a fool, had knelt at Twilight Mansion and had become the laughing stock of Gonzalez City.
He, who once basked in unlimited glory, now found it hard to even lift his head when walking on the streets.
So many people watched as the entire Cook Family kneeled down in unison.
Watching the Reed family finish their meal.
Although these people would not say anything to their faces out of fear of the Cook Family, the gossip and rumors behind their backs were extremely distasteful.
Many offensive remarks had reached Stacy Cook’s ears.
He transferred all this anger onto Julius Reed!
Now with Tristan Caldwell taking charge, it was very likely that Julius Reed wouldn’t be able to leave the Northern restaurant alive today.
But Stacy Cook was somewhat curious.
With the status of Julius Reed as just a son-in-law, how did he manage to mix into the Northern restaurant?
Could it be Itai Huntington, but why hadn’t he seen her for half a day?
However, after the lesson at Twilight Mansion last time, he didn’t dare to underestimate Julius Reed again.
His face was hurt enough.
He couldn’t bear it.
And today, Tristan Caldwell was determined to not let Julius Reed go.
He just had to watch the show.
“Fine, but I hope you will follow the rules.”
Julius Reed shook the water of life in his hand and suddenly found it boring to play along with these ants before him, which was not a bad thing.
Life goes on for a hundred thousand years. Day after day, year after year.
After seeing countless births, aging, sickness, and deaths, Julius Reed found all the changes in time dull.
Sometimes he even felt that losing his memory for three years was a good thing.
At least he met Quella Radcliffe and found what is called love.
Even now, his mindset had undergone quite a few changes.
He used to be the Dragon King who did not partake in the mortal world’s offerings.
Now, he was just one of the many beings.
Like now, if it had been before, he could have killed the two before him with a single slap.
But now, he had fallen in love with the game of cat and mouse.
Death, sometimes, was indeed a luxury.
“I know General Caldwell and Boss Cook are men of dignity.”
Julius Reed picked up the water of life and looked at Stacy Cook, “How about it, Boss Cook, would you care for a bottle too?”
“Sure! If you really can down it in one go, General Caldwell and I will accompany you with double!”
Stacy Cook nodded, his face full of anticipation for the drama to unfold.
The water of life wasn’t like other drinks—if it was ordinary liquor, one could stomach it without much fuss.
But the water of life, even a sip, could scorch your throat.
Even if you no longer wished to live and drank desperately, you simply couldn’t manage to drink it.
A whole bottle would undoubtedly lead to death.
Of course, there were some exceptions.
Or if one sought medical attention immediately, there was still a chance to save a life.
But.
Would Tristan Caldwell give Julius Reed a chance to go to the hospital?
“`
Impossible!
Anyway, it’s his own drinking; if he dies from it, it has nothing to do with anyone else.
“You two are both respectable people, if later you can’t maintain your dignity, I’ll do it for you!”
After Julius Reed finished speaking, he gently sipped the “water of life.”
“Ha ha! He’s done for!”
Seeing Julius Reed’s expression, Tristan Caldwell slapped the table and laughed loudly, “Young man, you’ve already talked big, don’t even think about backing out now! How does it feel, not great, right? But! This is just the beginning!”
He subconsciously thought that Julius Reed couldn’t handle the alcohol content of the “water of life,” so he waved to his bodyguards nearby, “If he can’t take it, help him out!”
“Understood!”
Several bodyguards narrowed their eyes, circling around Julius Reed, “Don’t make us take action.”
“What are you doing?”
Julius Reed raised an eyebrow, smacked his lips, and commented that it was quite thirst-quenching.
“Look, this idiot is stubbornly holding on!”
Tristan Caldwell laughed wildly, as if he had just heard a hilarious joke.
“Julius Reed, you didn’t see this coming, did you? To offend me is to face such a day! Do you remember how you humiliated me at Twilight Mansion?”
Stacy Cook had the look of someone enacting his revenge.
Over the years he had left home, fought and struggled, and finally achieved some success, earning the title Master Cook.
But it was just when he was at his most glorious, preparing to lead his family to the peak in Gonzalez City, that he met Julius Reed!
An imposing son-in-law who made no sense at all.
Stacy Cook was filled with hatred, but because of a mission he had, he couldn’t retaliate freely!
And now, Julius Reed had delivered himself to the doorstep; Stacy Cook couldn’t contain his joy.
Tristan Caldwell was ruthless; he said he would make Julius Reed drink it all, and he would indeed make him drink it all!
Plus, the bodyguards around them were all skilled fighters.
“I’ll check it first!”
Tristan Caldwell took the bottle from Julius Reed, sniffed it lightly, and made sure there was no problem.
“Shall I, drink up?”
Julius Reed raised the “water of life” and, like drinking water, guzzled it down.
“This fool really thinks the ‘water of life’ is ordinary booze?”
Watching Julius Reed’s suicidal drinking method, Tristan Caldwell shook his head, “He probably won’t be able to drink a third of it before he spits blood on the spot.”
“Exactly, such a loser, overestimating himself…”
But before Stacy Cook could finish his sentence, he realized that Julius Reed had already drunk half of it.
“How is this kid drinking it? That stuff is 98% alcohol! How can his esophagus and stomach take it after one gulp?”
He exclaimed in amazement, but before he could react,
Bang!
Julius Reed slapped the empty bottle on the table.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s your turn.”
Tristan Caldwell was stunned.
Stacy Cook was stunned.
The surrounding bodyguards were stunned too.
Even the waitress beside them was stunned.
Is this even human?n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The “water of life” was really drunk like water!
Julius Reed just did it right in front of them, in one go!
There was no chance for any trickery.
Tristan Caldwell swallowed, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Stacy Cook felt a chill running down his back even more.
“Waitress, bring me three more bottles of ‘water of life.'”
Julius Reed snapped his fingers and, looking at General Caldwell holding a bottle of “water of life,” asked with a smile, “General Caldwell, would you like to go first?”
Gulp.
Tristan Caldwell swallowed and said nothing.
He hadn’t recovered from the shock yet.
Why didn’t the opponent react?
One bottle of “water of life” down, shouldn’t he be vomiting blood by now?
But Julius Reed looked the same as usual; his face wasn’t even red.
“Shall I, help you maintain your dignity?”
Julius Reed asked with a smile.
