Chapter 148 - The Unforgettable Hobbit!
Inside the town of Daan, far from the center.
The talk of the town, Beheader, was happily licking an ice cream along with his two pets.
"A mango flavored ice cream is still the best," Nile said as he licked the last bit of ice cream on the popsicle.
"Let's get going Max, Croc. Before the sun sets, let's kill 30 more zombies." Nile boasted.
The two pets shook their head at their master's behavior.
We only spotted and killed two zombies after almost an hour of searching, and here you are boasting about killing 30 more? Let's find those zombies first, alright?
After a while, the three arrived at the supermarket area.
As usual, it was laden with rotting zombies and human corpses that are filled with wriggling maggots underneath their skin. One could tell that there are maggots and carrions inside, as the corpse's skin would wobble from time to time.
He had already gotten used to such sights, so Nile no longer felt nauseous just on seeing something like that. Well, he still feels disgusted over the flesh-eating maggots, but different from before, he no longer has the urge to puke.
"See that Croc?" Nile pointed towards an area inside the supermarket.
"Grrr!" Croco nodded his head in response.
"Kill that one, it's a Level One° zombie pretending to be dead!" Nile said as he rested his palm over the saddle.
'Hmph!' Maximo made a harrumph after Croco peeked at him smugly.
"Don't worry Max, you'll get your share too. Go over there!" Nile said as he pointed to an area opposite to where Croco was going.
"Hammer down that column, there should be a zombie hiding behind it," Nile said confidently as he jumped off Maximo's back.
'Moo!' Maximo 'mooed' before dashing towards the 1-foot thick column that Nile had pointed.
BOOM!
Without wasting any time, Maximo instantly rammed the column, causing it to break like a fragile glass.
A mature carabao would weigh around 420-500 kgs. Maximo is still young, his weight should be around half of that.
However, with the mutation, his weight had more than doubled. Not to mention the 500 pounds sledgehammer, the catalyst for Maximo's third evolution.
(A/N: 500 lbs= 226.79+ kgs.)
As of the moment, Maximo's weight should be around 900-1000 kgs. Imagine something as heavy as that, slamming a 1-foot thick column.
The result was presented before Nile's eyes.
The debris flew everywhere like bullets. The zombie hiding behind the column also flew like a rocket, crashing towards a display table.
You might be wondering how did Nile know such things.
Is he an oracle? Did he develop such a skill?
Nope definitely not.
The first reason why he knew of that is mainly because of the System Map and the Instant Adapter talent. The two combined had become a godly skill that could let Nile view his enemies around him from the System Map with a radius of 50 meters with him at the center.
It's a very useful combination of skills as he no longer needed to worry about being ambushed while searching for zombies. He could locate zombies easier this way as well.
Not to mention that combination, the other reason why the Nile could pinpoint the two zombies' location was simple.
The first zombie, it is already marked as a red dot by the System Map. However, the System Map wouldn't show the exact location of the zombie, only the general direction, which is represented as a red dot could be gauged.
If only… if only the zombie's foot isn't stuck out of its hiding hole, Nile might need some time to spot and locate the hiding zombies.
On the other hand, the second zombie had a 'little' difference between the first one. As instead of a foot sticking out, it's whole body was actually visible from the start. The 1-foot long column just couldn't hide its fat and enormous body.
Yes, the zombie hiding behind the column was a fatty.
On the other side, Nile watched as Croco bit the zombies foot that was stuck out.
Woosh!
Using his front legs, he pivoted back, making the zombie to be pulled out from its hole. With a swift motion, Croco twisted his enormous body, along with the zombie.
With his massive size, Croco definitely no longer needs to rotate his body every time he wants to make a kill.
'The natural habits just couldn't be easily forgotten, huh.' Nile pondered.
Crocodile's usually do the 'Death roll' attack to subdue and dismember their prey. But with Croco's blade, and other means, does he still need to do it? Nope, definitely not.
'Let's try guiding him.'
"Croc, you no longer need to do the Death roll attack, you're no longer a normal crocodile, alright?"
"Grrr." Croco nodded his head, Nile could tell that he was upset.
"But, if you really want to, just do it." Nile continued after seeing the upset Croco.
'Sigh! My pets are harder to deal with than women. Well, not that I've experienced one. Atleast, that's what other men say.' Nile smiled wryly under the black mask as he shook his head.
By this time, Maximo had already closed in towards the fatty zombie.
BOOM!
An explosion echoed as Maximo rammed his body again on to the fat zombie who had just got up from the ground.
'That's a rather well-fed zombie!' Nile hilariously thought.
Pressing his whole weight, Maximo didn't let the zombie get out of his grasp. The zombie was swatted like a cockroach, it couldn't struggle as a moving mountain was pressing it to the wall. The wall started to crack as the zombie's plump body began to get ruptured.
As the zombie's fat body started to burst, Maximo didn't waste time any further, he rotated his body, and using the same momentum, he smashed the zombie's head with the sledgehammer tail. As a result, the head bursted out like a meat paste.
Two resounding System promptS echoed in Nile's head. It was the two notifications for killing the two Level One° zombies.
"Let's go, this supermarket is huge. I'm expecting a Level Two° to pop up here. Hehehe!" Nile said playfully as he beckoned for his pets to follow him.
