Chapter 410 Memory Of The Past
-Absorbed Standard Fate Vein (x5): +50 PP
-System Quest Completed. Issuing rewards...
William heaved a sigh of relief as he felt the unnatural Fate Mana coursing through his body with nowhere to go. Unlike the other Elements that usually remained idle inside him, the Fate Mana acted just like Karma before he had the Affinity.
It gave William an itchy feeling that made him want to expel the Mana immediately, but the System stopped him from doing so.
-The Mana from these seals is unique. You may not have a use for them, but I do.
William had inspected the Veins before when his Vision Talent upgraded, so he somewhat understood what the System meant. The Mana emanating from the Veins was a lot like Spirit Qi, but also like traditional Mana, and was more powerful than both.
It was almost like a type of energy of its own, though it clearly leaned more towards Mana.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
What's different about this Mana compared to the ambient Mana in the environment?
-Request requires 50000 Potential Points. Yes/No?
It must have something to do with the Ascended Realms. Only those types of questions are so expensive... William thought to himself as he confirmed the transaction.
-The Mana contained within the Elemental Veins is sourced from the Ascended Realms. While it has many names, today it is called Godly Mana, which can be refined into almost ten times as much Spirit Qi as regular Mana.
-Additionally, with the proper Cultivation Techniques, the Mana can be refined into Chaotic Qi, a special type of Spirit Qi that is many times stronger than normal Spirit Qi, but it can only be stored by Cultivators with a resilient body and firm Dantian.
So, this entire time I've been absorbing Mana of the Ascended Realms? William asked.
-Yes, but I've been making use of it myself, so you haven't gained any additional benefits.
Isn't that against your rules?
-Not at all. Besides, you can't create Chaotic Qi until you develop a stronger Cultivation Technique. It would be a waste.
William nodded in understanding, but he didn't like the fact that the System stole some of his benefits without informing him. Since the System had done so much for him already though, he let it slide.
-Quest Rewards:

...
Triggering A Memory of the Past once Host is prepared...
William didn't care much about the quarter million Potential Points anymore, but he was very interested in the rest. When he saw the name Cerulea listed next to the word "Heavens" William instantly guessed that Cerulea was the real name of Golden Girl.
It only made sense that way, since William had yet to meet anyone else associated with the Heavens.
System, I get my three free questions, right? William asked.
-Of course, but you might want to wait until after the memory.
William nodded. Let's see the memory now then.
-Close your eyes and count to five.
Uh, okay...
One... two... three... four... five.
-Now spin around and clap your hands.
Okay fuck off! William immediately realized what was happening and opened his eyes.
-Hehe. Transporting Host...
William felt as if his soul had been sucked from his body through a hose. His eyes were forcibly closed by an unknown force, and he lost sense of every Talent he had gained thus far.
What's happening?
-Don't worry, you cannot be harmed in this state, and no one will sense you like Duon. I've made sure of that.
William decided to place his full trust in the System and waited until a few seconds had passed before opening his eyes. He was back on the Azures Continent, in the center of the Providence Zone, though it looked much different from before.
The grass was infinitely greener and the number of Magical Beasts in the area was much fewer. Not only that, but William could see a multicolored aurora above the Providence Zone bursting with Spirit Qi.
He blinked, and suddenly a small wisp of light was just a few meters in front of him. It condensed and started to transform into a woman in her late twenties with long red hair and a pair of petite lips. Her figure itself was blurry at first, but a pair of stylish jeans and a modern leather jacket formed before William could see anything.
He was slightly disappointed, but he didn't express it.
-What would Charlotte think? You've visited her merely a dozen times throughout the last year and you're looking at other girls? That's Efretta, you know. She could kill you with a single word.
I couldn't help it, oops.
-Oops?
Why are you the angry one, System? This is the person I'm supposed to see, right? You're the one playing the memory.
The System didn't respond, but William sensed the usual tinge of annoyance amid some other muddled emotions. He watched as the red-haired woman muttered to herself while scanning her surroundings.
"This isn't where I expected to be... what is this place?" Efretta pinched at the air to deduce her location. Her eyes widened as she realized something, then awkwardly walked a few steps to test her motor skills.
"I'm doing pretty good considering it's been eight hundred and fifty thousand years... but it seems this body double is only at the Nascent Soul Realm. I can't do anything in this state." Efretta sighed as she propelled herself high into the air and flew in a certain direction.
William automatically followed Efretta without making any moves of his own, completely unable to resist the System's control. He watched as Efretta flew from one place to another, quickly learning the functions of the World.
In less than a day, Efretta was able to understand the functions of the Guild Hall, various Sects, the Yu Royal Family's leadership, and even the general disposition of rare resources scattered across the World.
Her pure efficiency and talent were enough to put William's efforts over the last few years to shame. She ran from city to city, sharing insights about Blacksmithing and Arrays to various tradesmen, earning their trust while simultaneously requesting a favor from them.
By the end of the week, she had hundreds of individuals working for her all at once, becoming a self-sufficient production chain that harvested minerals, refined them, turned them into weapons and equipment, then enchanted them with Arrays before final sale on the market.
Before selling the gear, Efretta would inspect each piece individually, commenting on the craftsmanship of the locals and even providing more tips that would better produce the gear. Other than that, she hardly had to lift a finger!
Less than a week after her first inspection, Efretta had earned over a hundred thousand Mana Stones, which she promptly used to speed up her own Cultivation. She rose from the Nascent Soul Realm to the peak of the Soul Formation Realm in a matter of months, even sparing time to visit the other Continents and spread her name.
The few arrogant individuals who didn't benefit from Efretta's appearance became vengeful and sent many subordinates to try to kill her, but Efretta's followers handled most of the problems while her incredibly fine control over the Elements allowed her to dominate even the peak Cultivators with just a single Domain.
