Chapter 159: Chapter 46: How Do I Return?
Lancelot spent almost seven hours helping the fairies complete the huge teleportation device able to send thirty troops to Camelot and back thanks to their link—it was also able to send half that amount each to his other bases as well.
Thank god, let's get into contact with someone... Hmm? I can't connect to them—what's going on?
This has to be a trick, right... why is the logout function on my lord system red!?
"Give me a break... my name isn't Kirito...."
He began to look around, feeling a sense of worry because this portal needed the other side to accept the initial link—otherwise, it would never work, and he would still be stranded because, despite trying to leave Avalon using his normal method, it only gave a strange error and denied his request.
I don't like this... I want to hear my cute girls' voices!
{Husban.... Master, everyone is worried because Sumika and Guinevere came to find you, but you were not there...}
Oh... like an angel, she's always on time! It's my lovely Marimo's voice how I missed you.
{They wished me to tell you that because of the sudden attack, the academy closed the portals temporarily to investigate.}
Who cares! Let's chat, my lovely Wife ~ I missed you and want you to come to me with a squad of thirty hares. I found a lovely place where you might find happiness more than the other troops.
Marimo had been trying her best to stay calm and professional after being given a higher rank in his heart and was now called the King's Wife by the other girls. It made her heart thump when he started speaking such sweet words...
{Husband... where? I will come! Let me get some things... makeup... outfits....
weapons...}
Lancelot loved listening to her whispering voice because Marimo always seemed so sensible and in control. She would mess up with little things like leaving her communication open to him as she began choosing between red-laced and velvet blue panties...
{Master~ this hare has been very bad, and she needs you to use those thick, powerful hands to spank her fat, frost hare butt~ hehehe~ will the husband be rough, or let me sit on his face... ah~ I cannot.... eh?....heh? Why can I hear Master's erotic thoughts....}
This naughty hare, I am going to tie her up and spank her little ass!
There was a moment of silence, then her little groan and squeak as she seemed to realise that her thoughts were being transmitted all the time...
{Husband... M-Marimo isn't a lewd woman. She just likes you so much, and it feels so~~~ good when you touch and lick her!}
Marimo, too a firm stance!
Lancelot smiled as he noticed the distant trolls once again seeming to want to cause trouble even if he knew their walls could easily take their blows for years.
He worried and wanted to eliminate the threat so Maria could grow her town and not be in danger because she died in the past, and there must be a threat nearby that could kill such a smart lady.
I have to find the killer... Marimo, I think you are perfect as you are, but please arrange for troops because we are going hunting. I need your strongest girls in both melee and ranged combat because I don't know what we are dealing with.
Also, bring Tyr and tell her I will accept her into my roost if she comes here. Ask Tiamat to take over your role as Camelot's defender.
{Yes, Master, I will be there in less than an hour!}
Lancelot loved how she could switch between her flirty new wife, Marimo and the serious Captain of the guard, Marimo. It was part of her charm that made him fall for her in the first place.
I can't wait to see you, bring the red-laced pair.
"Is everything alright, Lord Lancelot?" The soft voice of the Queen of ice fairies sounded in his ear as she sat on his shoulder with a seductive aroma of frosted blueberries.
Melodica was like Maria and had long linked their feelings and senses due to how the Fairy Queen worked. They needed an anchor to keep them in the world, and thus, Maria and Melodica were like two peas in a pod.
"My troops will soon arrive—for now, only a small number to test the portal and help you defend against the trolls and other enemies that lurk in that white forest."
"Oh? You're not going to leave straight away?"
Lancelot smiled. This little fairy was both the courage of Maria and the insecurity and doubt, likely allowing Maria to spend her life so happily as this little thing shouldered her burdens without a complaint.
"I cannot leave my new wife the day after we are wed, and there is something dangerous around here, right? Something you haven't told Maria about."
The smile on the fairy's face suddenly vanished as her mouth opened wide like her big eyes, and she shuddered a sense of terror from this ever-confident spirit.
"The dark, scary monster... It feasts on magical... devours fairies and spirits..."
Hmmm?
"He doesn't eat for food... but fun... the monster is a Lord... from our home planet, and he destroyed the Wind Queen's garden and the Fire Queen's forest... and..."
"Ate the last Ice Queen before my eyes... while his strange laughter and those big... peering eyes watching with amusement as he crushed mother in his teeth..."
"He then said, Run along, little fairy princess... become a queen, and I'll come devour you too, hihihihi."
"So I ran... and ran... and ran... and then found myself in the arms of Maria... who smelled like mother."
Lancelot leaned back, taking a deep breath.
The soothing chill of the blue and white stone was quite comforting as he tried to imagine the scenes of a small fairy. Somehow, Maria's image overlapped with the fairy princess in the story, and then a heavy feeling appeared in his stomach...
Is this it... was she devoured by the fairy Queen...?
He looked at Melodica and realised she was crying... but her tears became small droplets of ice crystals and fluttered in the wind as her big eyes stared at him. He felt the same kind of desire to protect her that he did for Maria.
"I will slay it."
"Hueh?"
"I will slay that monster for you to keep you safe, so don't cry, little fairy princess."
Lancelot's soft finger brushed away the crystalline tears as the eyes of the fairy queen widened, her face turning bright red just like Maria would when they first started speaking, and he teased her.
"I swear, this is a knight's oath to his princess."
He gave a bow as her wings began fluttering faster and faster before she fluttered away with a red face, looking back with a pout before her voice sounded on the cold winds... filled with warmth and her cute timbre.
"Hmph! Since you have promised, you must do so, Knight Lancelot! This princess will await your successful oath!"
{Master, we are coming now.}
Lancelot was still stunned because of the small red lip marks on his cheek, leaving both a cold chill and a burning heat from the fairy and her clear hopes and desire for him to achieve the oath he made.
She's just as cute as Maria... damn.
The next moment, the teleporter began to glow with a bright white shine, probably visible for hundreds of miles, depending on the height of the viewer.
One by one, fully armed in woollen and leather armour, the thirty frost hares were the ones who came first. All of them were like a true armed force as they stepped forward with the same stride and speed before kneeling to Lancelot in the snow.
"Our King, we have come to serve!" The echo and melodic tones from their different voices caused it to sound like a song as each hare remained still, looking at him with beautiful big eyes and floppy ears.
"I am grateful that you are the ones that came, my lovely frost hares. How do you like this winter wonderland? Is it to your liking?"
"Yes, Your Highness!" The excitement in their voices island close to their home filled with snow and glistening trees filled with ice.
Lancelot could tell that each of them was overly excited and wanted to explore, especially after seeing the snow elves and fairies that were hiding and peeking from the buildings.
"Good, there are monsters and a devious devil that wish to destroy this scenery. My lovely hares, would you follow me into battle to protect it?"
"Yes! Your Highness!" They all stood and gave him a cute, synchronised salute before the teleporter shone once more, and three figures appeared.
Ikumi, Tyr and Marimo.
"Master!"
"Darling!"
"Emperor! Please accept me!!!"
The three women were adorable in their ways, with the polite and steady Marimo greeting as she should, then Ikumi, who had grown to a wonderful woman unable to hide her affection, and finally, the dragoness, who was desperate for Lancelot's seed.
With this... I can first eliminate the trolls and bolster her forces slowly.
