Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 697: Chaotic Spirit World!

Chapter 697: Chaotic Spirit World!

BOOM! A torrent of thunder and fire surged like waves, sending a shockwave that scattered the surrounding 800 demons, devils, and Immortals. In an instant, nearly half were dead or dying.

Thunderous echoes vibrated through the air, blood splattering the skies, followed by the piercing and desperate screams of the fallen.

The Supreme Generals of the Great Dao Celestial Army, once only revered from afar, now lay dismembered and writhing in pain before their own eyes, thrusting the survivors into a chilling silence, their minds blank in horror.

The massive forms of the demons and Great Horned Immortal bore the brunt of this destructive storm, suffering grievously. The sky was littered with dismembered arms and legs—a ghastly spectacle of carnage.

This was undeniably an all-you-can-eat extravaganza for Pale Revenant.

Among Yun Xiao’s many companions, the only one Pale Revenant truly feared was Divine Dawn.

“Agh…”

The survivors all turned pale under the impact of the Heaven Origin Shock, scrambling away in a desperate escape.

In that moment, they forgot about the Chaos Sovereign, forgot their dreams of a better life ahead, with their minds haunted only by the vision of a massive white tiger blotting out the sun, and a deep, instinctual fear in their blood.

A petite, snow-white figure, seemingly harmless, became the nightmare of these fierce beings.

“Hold!”

In the midst of this tempest of destruction, a towering figure in celestial armor, though at the forefront, was indeed the least injured.

The face of the Great Horned King was scorched black, his eyes blazing with fire, his features twisted in fury as he bellowed at the panicked demons, devils, and Immortals fleeing around him, “The enemy is upon us, who dares desert their post, faces military justice!”

His words, fierce as they were, managed to halt the majority in their tracks.

"Great Horned King, I am grievously wounded and near death..." a Supreme General gasped, his face ashen.

"Dying is not dead. Steady yourself!" the Great Horned King bellowed as he spun around to face the girl in the white dress. His voice was icy, "She has exceeded her limits with such force. Now, she is at the end of her strength! The chance to earn glory for Emperor Fan has arrived..."

He had barely finished speaking when, with a thunderous boom, the girl wearing a white tiger mask and carrying two massive Primordial Doom Stars appeared before him!

"How do you still have so much strength left?" the Great Horned King growled through clenched teeth.

As soon as he spoke, the girl in white gave him a chilling glance and flung her left hand out. The slightly smaller thunder meteor hammer tore through the sky, bursting with a thunderous roar and charged at the Great Horned King!

The Great Horned King roared in fury. He raised his armor-clad arms, circulating his devil blood and celestial power, to block. The heavy gauntlets of the Five Infernos Battle Regalia on his arms were top-tier weapons themselves!

BOOM! The fists of the Great Horned King collided with the meteor hammer, releasing a screeching clash!

CRACK! The Great Horned King's arms twisted grotesquely, the sound of breaking bones piercing the air!

His face contorted in agony!

The meteor hammer smashed his arms with unstoppable force, striking his chest with devastating impact!

With a wet thud, the Great Horned King's chest caved in, and he spewed a mouthful of black blood mixed with his innards. His massive frame flew backward like a kite with its string cut, blood spraying in the air!

"So fierce... No, wait!"

Wracked with excruciating pain and struggling for breath, the Great Horned King caught a glimpse of the thunderous meteor hammer coming at him again from the corner of his eye.

BANG! BANG! BANG! Under the control of the girl in the white dress, the massive meteor hammer struck like a relentless whip, bombarding the Great Horned King's body dozens of times in rapid succession!

KLANG! KLANG! KLANG! The Great Horned King, treated like a punching bag in midair, was hammered repeatedly. With each brutal strike, a mix of organs and black blood spurted out, accompanied by his agonized screams.

“Huh?”

Everyone stood dumbfounded, their eyes wide as they watched the Great Horned King tossed about in the air.

His once-prized Five Infernos Battle Regalia had been hammered away, leaving nothing but his battered flesh, now a mere pulp, no better than his two sons who had guarded the Divine Gateway.

With a final crash, the two hammers of thunder and flame slammed together, smashing the Great Horned King into a patty sandwiched between the two Primordial Doom Stars. Blood and flesh gushed out, and he screamed no more...

A collective gasp escaped from the crowd of demons, devils, and Immortals regardless of allegiance. They watched in horrified awe as the girl in the white dress finally set down the Primordial Doom Stars.

Standing atop the Primordial Pagoda, her cold gaze swept over the remaining combatants, including the Great Dao Celestial Army, and Free Immortals...

“In times of chaos, it is even more essential to help one another. A true cultivator supports the weaker, for solidarity brings survival. Why then do you choose to fight for the selfish and unprincipled?”

Her voice was calm, posing the question that left the Great Dao Celestial Army and Free Immortals looking down, at a loss for words.

“To cultivate and ascend does not mean to prey on the weak without moral restraint.”

With that, Divine Dawn crossed the expanse to reach the black gourd.

No one dared to stop her now.

Her gaze intensively fixed on the black gourd, she slowly extended her hand towards it.

Yun Xiao took a shallow breath. He floated in an expanse of nothingness, gazing into the void where nothing existed.

This was a true realm of nothingness, where Yun Xiao felt absolutely nothing.

Yet, it seemed as though everything was present, only in their most primal forms, beyond reach due to his insufficient cultivation.

"Where is this?" Yun Xiao asked calmly.

"The Chaotic Spirit World."

The response came from behind him, in a voice that sounded unexpectedly young.

Before Yun Xiao could turn around, the voice continued, "This is spectator mode. You can look but can't touch. So here, you're nothing, equivalent to nonexistence."

"Oh..." Yun Xiao nodded and turned to face the source of the voice.

If he was not mistaken, this would be Lu Fan speaking, but why did his voice sound different?

As he turned, a figure came into view.

A diminutive young man stood before him, dressed peculiarly in a short-sleeved shirt of blue and white stripes, loose trousers, and white cloth shoes tied with bow knots.

Looking further up, Yun Xiao saw the youth's hair was short and limp, clinging to his scalp, and a pair of large black-framed glasses that made him appear somewhat meek and nerdy.

His features were ordinary, with a slightly flat nose dotted with blackheads, a few pimples on his cheeks, and a somewhat murky gaze.

This oddly dressed figure was Lu Fan.

He wore a badge on his chest, which read—

Qingyang County First Middle School

Name: Lu Fan

Student number: 1314520.

"Why have you taken this form?" Yun Xiao asked.

"In spectator mode, this is how I really look." Lu Fan gave a goofy smile, scratching his head. After a pause, he pointed at Yun Xiao, "You might not have noticed, but you look different too."

Yun Xiao paused, touching his face, feeling a familiar roughness under his fingers.

"So, you're like me, but you're a local here, and I'm from elsewhere." Lu Fan stroked his chin, his mouth twisting into a sly grin, "Let's face it, one script can't contain two overwhelming heroes. Let’s duel, local fool."
