Chapter 146 Aleman's Arrival

Ezran stood further back, preparing a powerful spell. His voice trembled as he spoke. "We have to keep going! If we stop now, everything we've done will mean nothing!"

Ezran unleashed a massive wave of frost and fire that surged toward Malrik. This was a spell that he had gotten from the sword king's dungeon. It was no ordinary one.

The attack was very powerful and had expended a lot of his MP.

It cut through the undead ranks and destroyed the barrier, slamming directly into Malrik. The sorcerer staggered slightly as his health bar visibly dropped.

Malrik's glowing eyes turned toward Ezran as a twisted grin spread across his face. "You dare wound me, little mage? Very well, let me return the favor."

A pulse of dark energy formed at the tip of his staff as he raised it. Ezran quickly conjured a shimmering shield around himself.

"Not today!" Ezran shouted, but his voice cracked with fear.

Malrik's spell, Soul Rend, shot forward like a black comet.

It shattered Ezran's shield instantly and struck him with full force. Ezran's health bar dropped to zero in an instant, and his avatar dissolved into pixels.

Lilo's playful demeanor vanished as she let out a furious cry. "Ezran! You bastard!" She fired arrow after arrow at Malrik but he immediately conjured a new barrier, causing the arrows to explode against his barrier.

Boris roared in anger as he activated one of his most powerful skills. He charged toward Malrik, swinging the weapon in a wide arc.

His axe slammed into the barrier, cracking it and smashing through it, surprising Malrik.

But by the time it reached Malrik, it was already too weak.

Malrik merely waved his staff, and a blast of energy sent Boris flying backward. He rammed into the ground and ricocheted across its surface uncontrollably.

"Is this all you can muster?" Malrik sneered. "Your efforts are meaningless!"

The situation seemed hopeless. More knights from Tagharium arrived, along with several powerful mages, but they fared no better.

Every strike against Malrik chipped away at his health, but it wasn't enough. He continued to conjure barriers and his ability to revive the dead kept the battlefield in his favor.

"We need a strategy. This isn't something we can brute-force," Lilo voiced in exhaustion.

---

Across the battlefield, several other players were making their own attempts to take down Malrik. A group of players from Crimson Vanguard, a well-known mid-tier guild, charged toward the sorcerer.

"Stick to the plan!" their leader shouted while raising his shield to block an incoming wave of dark energy. "Tank classes, draw his attention! DPS, aim for the gaps in his armor!"

One of the DPS players, an assassin named Krix, grinned as he activated a stealth ability and darted toward Malrik's flank. "He's not so tough! We've got this!"

Krix's daggers flashed as he lunged at Malrik, but the sorcerer didn't even turn to acknowledge the attack. With a flick of his wrist, Malrik unleashed a surge of energy that disintegrated the rogue instantly.

"Fall back!" the guild leader shouted as Malrik turned his attention to their group. The sorcerer raised his staff, summoning a torrent of shadowy tendrils that wrapped around the guild members, draining their health rapidly. One by one, they fell.

"Idiots," muttered a lone mage from another group, watching the scene unfold from a distance. He adjusted his robes as his hands glowed with charged mana. "They went in without thinking. Amateurs."

The mage began casting a massive firestorm spell, aiming it directly at Malrik. The skies above the sorcerer darkened and ten massive flames swirled into a vortex before crashing down. For a moment, it seemed as though the spell had landed perfectly.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

But as the smoke cleared, Malrik emerged unscathed within his barrier.

"You dare challenge me with such feeble magic?" Malrik sneered before hurling a bolt of green energy at the mage. The player barely had time to scream before he was obliterated.

Near the front lines, a group of high-level players from the guild Eternal Flame coordinated their assault. Their leader, a heavily armored warrior, barked orders as they tried to pin Malrik from the sidelines.

"Focus on breaking his barrier!" she shouted. "Don't engage directly until we weaken him!"

A berserker in their group roared, ignoring the command as he charged straight at Malrik with his massive hammer glowing with fiery runes. "I'll show you how it's done!"

The berserker's attack landed with a deafening crash, but Malrik barely flinched.

The sorcerer's eyes glowed with dark energy as he raised his staff.

A dark beam shot out and the Berserker was immediately severed in two.

His avatar disintegrated into particles.

Amidst the chaos, Lilo and Boris continued to fight alongside other players, carefully avoiding direct confrontation with Malrik.

"We've got a lot of players here, but they're dropping like flies," Lilo stated. "Everyone thinks they can take Malrik head-on, but he's cutting them down left and right."

Boris gritted his teeth. "We need a plan. A real one. Otherwise, this fight's over."

Suddenly, a ripple of energy swept through the battlefield. A figure emerged from the shadows, moving with power and speed.

A deafening crack of thunder shattered the sound of battle. The sky seemed to tear open as a massive spear of lightning surged from the grasp of this newly arrived person, obliterating over thirty undead soldiers in a blinding explosion of light and sound.

The ground where the undead once stood was left a smoldering crater.

System Notification:

[ Aleman (Player: August) has entered the battlefield. Tier 2 abilities activated. Contribution bonus applied. ]

---

From the smoke and debris, a lone figure emerged. Clad in a dark cloak and a mage's staff strapped to his back.

August strode onto the battlefield with his twin daggers shimmering with energy and the air around him charged with power.

"Who… Who is that?" one player stammered in disbelief.

"Is that… Aleman?" another whispered. "The one whose name has appeared on the world announcements very recently..."

The knights and players paused momentarily as they fixed their eyes on the one whose entrance had caused a commotion. Even Malrik, hovering above the battlefield, narrowed his glowing eyes.

Malrik's voice dripped with disdain as he spoke. "Another fool come to die."

Lilo's eyes widened as she spotted him. "No way… ALEMAN!"

Boris was bloodied and battered at this point but he managed a grin. "About time you showed up!"

August didn't respond immediately. His eyes were locked on Malrik, assessing the battlefield. The notifications flooding his interface told him everything he needed to know.

"I leave for a few hours, and you lot are already in over your heads," August's voice was tinged with humor as he spoke. He turned to Lilo and Boris. "Fill me in."

Lilo pointed at Malrik. "That's the guy. Level 85, ridiculous spells, and an infinite supply of undead. Ezran hit him hard, but Malrik turned him into a pixel puddle for it."

August nodded. "Makes sense. I never confronted him in the first place because of his power. I'm the one who gave the Baron the intel on him. This entire battle started because of me."

Lilo raised an eyebrow. "So what's the plan, genius?"

August's eyes flicked to the glowing monolith in the distance. An idea formed in his mind, sharp and clear. "Fighting him head-on isn't working because he is too powerful and the monolith is also feeding him. If we destroy it, he'll lose his endless army of undead and be unable to summon the divine weapon."

Boris grinned while hefting his axe. "Now *that* sounds like a plan!"

August smirked. "Good. Then let's finish this."

As he prepared to move, a faint shimmer appeared beside them, and Ezran materialized.

"You're back!" Lilo exclaimed, pulling him into a brief hug. "We thought you'd rage-quit."

Ezran chuckled nervously. "Not a chance. Someone has to keep you two alive."

August clapped Ezran on the shoulder. "Glad you're here. I'll need your help for this next part."

"What's the plan?" Ezran asked, his voice steadier now.

August's smirk widened. "Simple. Malrik had to be distracted long enough to take out that monolith. And then we bring him down."

With his tier 2 abilities ready August stepped forward, holding his daggers tightly as he activated Phantom Blitz and vanished into the fray.

The battlefield erupted into chaos once

As August dashed through the crowd of undead, he raised his hand, summoning the winds around him.

Wind Surge had now evolved to a Wind devastation.

He activated the tier 2 spell which erupted in a massive AOE burst.

A powerful gale whipped across the battlefield, slicing through scores of undead and scattering them like leaves. Shadow constructs wavered as their forms got destabilized by the sheer force of the attack.
