Chapter 22 Call From The CEO Of Mazda Motor
Fredrinn noted down the information about Sofia's family on his laptop. They were important guests of Arlan and they needed to be treated with respect. This was to ensure that Arlan wouldn't be dissatisfied with them.
After everything was done, Fredrinn chatted idly with Sofia's family. He was a great talker and the atmosphere soon became more friendly.
The entire time, Arlan was just looking at his phone, but no one minded his actions. What they didn't know was that Arlan received a text message from the current president and CEO of Mazda Motor, Matsushima Moro. He was asking Arlan when was the best time to call him.
While Arlan was typing a reply to Matsushima Moro, he suddenly heard Fredrinn's voice. "Mr. Roa, I have to go soon. I still have some matters to take care of."
Arlan turned his head and saw Fredrinn checking the time on his watch. It was an obvious gesture so he immediately replied with a smile on his face. "Alright. I'll send you out."
Hearing this, Fredrinn shook his head lightly as he said. "There is no need to trouble you, Mr. Roa."
"No. I insist." Arlan stood up, not letting Fredrinn reject him.
Seeing this, Fredrinn could only smile helplessly as he muttered. "If you insist." He then turned his head to Sofia's family and said. "I'll take my leave first, everyone."
"Goodbye, Mr. Vance!"
Fredrinn nodded his head and left the mansion with Arlan.
After they got out of the mansion, Fredrinn immediately said while giving his business card to Arlan. "Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Roa. Just call me if you need anything. Goodbye." He bowed and walked towards his car which was parked in front of the mansion.
"Bye." Arlan waved at him and kept his business card. He felt a bit embarrassed since he didn't have his own business card.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Arlan's phone suddenly rang and he immediately answered the call. "Good evening, Mr. Matsushima!"
When Fredrinn heard this name, he felt shocked in his heart. He walked slowly and listened to Arlan's voice. From the small information he heard, he found out that Arlan was actually speaking with the CEO of Mazda Motor! Although Mazda Motor wasn't as famous as those big car brands, it was still a billion-dollar company. He wondered what was Arlan's relationship with their CEO. 'I must report this to the boss!' He thought in his heart as he went inside his car.
Meanwhile, Arlan was still chatting with Matsushima Moro over the phone.
"Mr. Roa, a representative of Mazda Motor will visit you soon. He will handle the transfer procedures with you. I'm very sorry that I couldn't come in person. There are a lot of important matters in the company that requires my presence." Matsushima's English wasn't the best, but it was still understandable. He sounded respectful as he spoke with Arlan.
"It's fine. You don't have to worry about that." Arlan replied.
After the call, he went inside the mansion. It was only at this moment did he notice the red handprint on Loyd's face. This guy must have said something that angered the two ladies. He scoffed in his heart upon thinking about this. "Have you guys made a decision?" He asked as he sat down on the sofa in front of them.
Maria glanced at Sofia and saw her daughter nodding her head.
"Arlan, we will accept the money and we promise that we will pay you back." Maria said while looking at Arlan's face. This young man was probably two years younger than her daughter, but he was already so successful in life. She wished that her son would learn something from him.
"Good! In that case, I will take 4 million and pay Leandro in person. You must go with me!" Arlan said while looking at Loyd.
Loyd jumped in shock when he heard his words. "Y-You want me to come with you?! No! I don't want to go back there!" He shook his head fearfully. He didn't want to see Leandro's face again.
Arlan frowned and muttered in a cold voice. "I'm not asking your permission. I'm telling you to take me there!"
Maria and Sofia wanted to say something, but they didn't know what to say. It was dangerous to go into Leandro's territory and they didn't want anything to happen. However, since Arlan had already said so, they could only silently watch the situation.
Looking at his overbearing look, Loyd recalled the scene when Arlan was effortlessly beating up Leandro's goons. In the end, he could only nod his head with a face filled with reluctance. "F-Fine..."
"Good! Let's not waste time! Let's go!" Arlan grabbed Loyd's shoulder, easily lifting him with one hand.
Loyd didn't dare move, afraid that Arlan would punch him. He could only let the guy drag him while glancing at his sister and mother with a pleading look.
Seeing her brother's pathetic appearance, Sofia snorted coldly. While Maria sighed as she looked away.
"You two can stay here. You can choose any room upstairs. Just don't go inside the master's bedroom. If you are hungry, just grab whatever food you like from the kitchen." Arlan said to Sofia and Maria.
"Alright. Be careful. If you think that it's not safe, call the police immediately." Maria said worriedly.
"You can rest assured. I'll take this guy back safely." Arlan smiled as he patted Loyd's shoulder.
For some inexplicable reason, Loyd shuddered when he heard this. "Mom, I don't want to go there!" He shouted as he tried to break free from Arlan's grasp. However, it seemed as if he was being held by a vice grip. He couldn't even budge the arm that was holding him.
Arlan didn't give him the chance to say anything more as he grabbed Loyd out of the mansion.
Loyd's distressed screams echoed, but no one offered to help him.
Inside the mansion, Maria prayed that the two of them will come back unharmed.
