Chapter 130 Preparation for the Trip to Milan
Chapter 130 Preparation for the Trip to Milan
Arlan headed to Starbucks Waltermart to ask for more information from Ben Hidalgo.
"Mr. Roa, I will be coming with you to Milan. I'll make the introductions so that the De Luca Family won't make things difficult for you." Ben muttered.
"Oh? It seems like you share a deep friendship with the heir of the De Luca Family for you to be this confident." Arlan chuckled before taking a small sip of coffee.
Ben Hidalgo smiled in embarrassment. "It just happened. We share the same hobbies during our younger years and we still maintain our contact."
"Is that so?" Arlan smiled as he put down his cup of coffee. During the past few days, he had Winter investigate the De Luca Family and the La Cosa Nostra.
According to her report, La Cosa Nostra was controlled by three major mafia familias, the Cassano Family, the De Luca Family, and the Castellano Family.
The Cassano Family was the strongest of the three familias. This was because they handle the most dangerous and almost borderline illegal businesses of La Cosa Nostra.
Meanwhile, the De Luca Family controls most of the legitimate businesses in their organization. They own numerous real estate properties in Europe and Asia. They also had a hand in Europe's entertainment industry. However, they also do arms trade and prostitution.
On the other hand, the Castellano Family was relatively lowkey. They once handled many illegal businesses for the organization, but they recently transitioned to legit businesses. They are the most secretive among the three familias.
These three familias are in control of La Cosa Nostra. Although they had some frictions internally, they would be united once the organization faces a serious crisis.
When Arlan learned all this information, he started to admire Ben Hidalgo's luck. The guy managed to befriend one of the bigwigs of La Cosa Nostra.
Ben Hidalgo informed Arlan about their flight schedule to Milan.
"Mr. Roa, I will come and pick you up two hours before our flight tomorrow." Ben Hidalgo said.
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow." Arlan stood up from his seat and patted Ben's shoulder. "Go home and rest well."
"Yes, Mr. Roa." Ben nodded his head.
Arlan returned to the mansion in Forbes Park after his short meeting with Ben Hidalgo. When he arrived at the mansion, he summoned Karl, Khalon, and Winter.
Inside his study room, Arlan stared at the trio with a stern gaze. "I have to meet the De Luca Family tomorrow in Milan." He broke the silence.
Karl flinched when he heard this. "Boss, how about I go there instead? There is no need for you to go there in person." He was already briefed about the La Cosa Nostra so he knew how dangerous they were. He didn't want to put Arlan's safety at risk.
Arlan shook his head. "No. I have to go there myself. The De Luca Family specifically invited me to be there. They might think that we are looking down on them if I send someone else."
Karl furrowed his eyebrows as he voiced out his thoughts. "But we what if they conspired with the Cassano Family to trap you?"
Arlan turned silent at his words. He knew that it was very risky to meet the De Luca Family on their own turf, but he didn't have a choice. He only had less than two months left to deliver the military's goods. He also couldn't make his purchase from the international firearms companies because the volume of his purchase was so big that it looked like he would go to war against ten cities. He would definitely enter the international police's checklist if he did that.
Khalon suddenly spoke. "You don't have to be worried about the boss' safety. I will go with him to Milan together with twenty more bodyguards."
Karl stared at Khalon and felt more relieved. This guy was the strongest person under his boss' command. He didn't even have the confidence to beat Khalon in any kind of fight. Whether it was hand-to-hand combat or shooting combat, Khalon was miles ahead of him in terms of skill and experience.
"Then it's settled. Khalon will go with me to Milan." Arlan clapped his hand before turning his gaze to Winter. "I want you to maintain communication with us during our stay there. Keep us updated about the movement of La Cosa Nostra."
Winter nodded her head with a cold expression on her face.
"Khalon, how many people did Rear Admiral Fuliand send?" Arlan asked. More than a week ago, he sent Khalon to ask more men from Dexendius Fuliand.
"He sent 200 soldiers. Three of them are close to Conrad in terms of physical abilities and combat skills.I'll bring those guys with us to Milan." Khalon replied.
Arlan was pleasantly surprised. "How about their documents? Have you guys handled it?" He asked. They had to have the necessary documentation since they would be inspected at the airport.
Khalon nodded. "Winter already handled this matter when they arrived."
"Good! Choose twenty of our best soldiers to go with us to Milan." Arlan was satisfied with their efficiency.
"Yes, boss!"

The next day, Ben Hidalgo came to the mansion to pick them up. "Good morning, Mr. Roa! Have you rested well last night?"
"Yes!" Arlan chuckled. He then stared at Krizia hesitantly. He didn't want to bring her with them to Milan since the journey was bound to be dangerous. However, the girl insisted to go with them under the pretext of acting as his official negotiator for his deal with the De Luca Family.
"Mr. Roa, is there something on my face?" Krizia smiled at him.
Arlan sighed and shook his head. "Nothing. Let's go."
Krizia giggled when she saw his expression. In truth, it also took a lot of her courage to make the decision of going with them to Milan. She felt that Arlan would trust her more if the trip would be successful.
After becoming his assistant, she noticed that Arlan was still withholding some information from her. She wanted to gain his absolute trust.
