Chapter 100 Zenny’s Little Tricks
Arlan headed to Coffee Project Makati. It was a coffee shop that had some fame in Manila because of its high-end coffee products.
While driving his car to the coffee shop, Arlan thought about the recipe he sent to Starbucks. By now, the company should be testing his recipe and it would soon be part of the menu. 'I should ask Morgan and Laurence about the recipe...' He thought to himself.
Soon, he arrived at the coffee shop. He noticed that there was a police car parked in the parking space of the shop.
Arlan parked his car and entered the coffee shop. He looked around and saw Zenny dressed in her police uniform. With his experience, he also noticed that there were two more people who seemed to be police officers. They were wearing civilian clothes, but Arlan could tell their identity because of their behavior.
Arlan stared at the spot where Zenny was seated and checked if there was any strange object hidden. He didn't know if she had placed a wiretapping device so he had to be careful with his words. 'It looks like this woman is wary of me. She even brought two of her people with her.'
"Hello, Miss Zenny." Arlan smiled as he extended his hand to her.
Zenny stared at him and hesitated. She didn't want to offend Arlan so she reluctantly shook hands with him. "Mr. Roa, thank you for coming despite your busy schedule." She said while giving him a fake smile.
"No problem. I also came here to ask about Fabian's condition. How is he doing?" Arlan was worried about Fabian. Although he felt a bit better after avenging him, Fabian was still in coma.
Hearing this, Zenny sighed and shook her head. "Sir Fabian is still in coma."
"How about transferring him to a bigger hospital?" Arlan asked.
Zenny shook her head and muttered. "I also suggested this to the doctor, but they said that the journey would be dangerous for him. His body is in a very fragile state now and the long journey might be too much for him."
Arlan frowned upon hearing her words. He also felt a wave of guilt in his heart. It was because of him that Fabian became involved with Diego's case so he felt that he was to blame for this matter.
"Mr. Roa, I came here to warn you not to involve yourself with our cases. Please don't interfere in our job again." Zenny muttered while looking at Arlan.
Arlan leaned on his chair and crossed his legs. "Or else what?" He asked as he gave her a harmless smile.
How could he trust the police to handle a big syndicate like Leandro's drug cartel? He would be a fool if he choose to believe in them. Even the army was helpless in capturing their top members.
Zenny frowned when she heard his words. "Mr. Roa, I'm only giving you a friendly advice since you are Sir Fabian's friend. Please don't make things difficult for me." She muttered.
Arlan adjusted his posture and moved his head closer to her. "Miss Zenny, if it weren't for my help, you and your team would have already been buried by now."
Zenny felt goosebumps when she heard this. "What do you mean?"
Arlan shook his head and grabbed the cold brew coffee on the table. He took a light sip before he replied. "We have a common enemy so there is no need to be calculative with me. Without my help, you people wouldn't be able to handle Leandro's drug cartel."
Zenny gritted her teeth upon hearing this. Recently in Malabon, they encountered Leandro's men when they were investigating the death of Diego and his men. A gunfight broke out between the police and Leandro's men. Three police officers were even injured in that exchange.
Arlan's words really hit the nail. The police couldn't handle Leandro's men all by themselves. She realized this after the recent gunfight with them. "Mr. Roa, do you think you can do whatever you want just because you're rich?"
Arlan shrugged his shoulders. "Did you invite me here to interrogate me? Listen. If not for Fabian, I wouldn't even come here to meet you." He then stood up and stared at her coldly. "It's getting late and I still have something to do. Excuse me."
Zenny didn't expect him to suddenly walk out in the middle of their conversation. "Stop!" She called out to him, but Arlan didn't look back.
The two police officers stood up, but she signaled for them to stop. She then grabbed the wiretapping device she pasted under the table, but her face soon fell. "Dammit!" She cursed under her breath. 'No wonder that guy walked away. He must have noticed that wiretapping device...'
Meanwhile, outside the coffee shop, Arlan crushed the small device in his hand. "You're too young to play smart with me..." He muttered as he entered his car.
He returned to the villa and sent Jonas to search for 100 workers. He also told Jonas to renovate the workshop and make it big enough to accommodate their new equipment and the 100 workers. After dealing with this matter, he gave Winter some cash to continue her project.
Arlan then called Terrence and told him to meet him somewhere. This time, they didn't go to the Manila Heaven Club. That place was too loud and it was inconvenient since they would be discussing the housing project.
When he arrived at the agreed location, he found out that Terrence actually brought his father with him, Luke Montefalco.
"Uncle Luke!" Arlan greeted Luke and shook hands with him.
"Arlan, you've really given me a shock." Luke laughed lightly. At first, he only thought that Arlan was a talented man. He never thought that this guy was actually a secret billionaire!
Arlan merely smiled at his words. "Since Uncle Luke is here, this makes things less complicated."
Luke put on a serious expression. He decided to come in person since this project was too big for Terrence to handle alone. "I'm all ears."
