I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator

Chapter 239 Intervention

Chapter 239 Intervention

Just like a bloodthirsty beast, Jeralt charged at me with his hands outstretched, ready to pounce and probably rip my head off in the process. He greatly resembled his younger brother who also is a fan of physically enhancing his body and attacking. Well, that's probably the only specialty he had and I wouldn't even blame them. They radiate stepping-stones energy, and undeniably unfortunate that they met me- their match.

As I had mentioned before, their cultivation level is obviously far higher than mine, approximately one to two Planes higher, which puts me at a great disadvantage no matter where you look at it. But then again, I have Hui-ying and the System with me, and with my unmatched skills, I was fully confident that I'd be able to tank whatever attack he'd inflict upon me.

Swish!

But as it turned out, I really didn't need to do anything about that, just because someone stepped in in front of me... and it was none other than Yan Sun's grandfather.

"Jeralt, what are you doing?!" The grandfather bellowed, his beard making those sudden jerking motion because he was on the verge of exploding. It was clear in his expression that he was enraged at Jeralt's actions. As for me, I just stood there, sticking my tongue out to Jeralt to rile him up even more.bender

"Greetings, Master, I didn't mean to do anything wrong. I just wanted to teach this disciple a lesson after the disservice he'd done against my brother. Please allow me to rough him up a little bit, it would serve as a good lesson for him and it will help him learn that he shouldn't bully others just because he is stronger than them." "You mean... how Rutger lost face after attacking first and being defeated by someone a few levels lower than him? Is that what you call a disservice? And did you just say that it will serve a good lesson for him so he wouldn't bully others weaker than them? Right now,

Jeralt, what are you doing right now? Isn't this hypocrisy I'm seeing?" The grandfather spoke with a slightly suspicious tone.

Yeah! You go get him grandpa!

When Yan Sun's grandfather spoke with such clarity, Jeralt didn't know what to say. He was in the wrong and he knew it, but he didn't want to admit anything. That's why he just silently drooped his head, cupped his hands, and headed towards the Threshold where he came from.

"Wait just a damned moment." Yan Sun's grandfather spoke icily, his voice sending chills up and down everyone's spine as if death was drawing near. Even I felt a little nervous- just a little. "Where do you think you're going, Jeralt? Don't you owe me an apology for causing a disturbance in the Third Threshold? You do know how important this Threshold is when it comes to the Black Spirit Tournament, right? Would you like me to cut your robe in half?"

There was no need to explain what cutting someone's robe in half means. It basically depicts someone's removal from a Household, in this case, Jeralt's removal from the Gulong Household. Well, Yan Sun's grandfather probably didn't mean anything by it but he was serious when he said that as a warning.

Jeralt was speechless and I watch his confidence crumble down as the grandfather's serious words reached his ears. Without further ado, he cupped his hands and knelt in front of him. "I'm sorry for the disturbance I've caused... and... I'm sorry." He continued after we locked eyes with each other. There was a pure rage in his eyes which clearly told me that he'd get back at me later but I don't care at all that much. After all, the Black Spirit Tournament is bound to happen soon and he can't touch me until that's over.

When the commotion was finally over, Chu-Hua walked up to me, her cheeks flushed red with anger. "I would've stepped in, but it turns out I didn't need to. Those brothers really are shameless. If only they didn't have that much influence in this Household, I'd have dealt with them myself." She continued. "In any case, congrats on getting chosen to participate in the Black Spirit Tournament! It seems like we'll be together tomorrow." Chu-Hua continued.

"What do you mean?" I asked, cluelessly.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Well, our Master went out of his way to step in for you... don't you think that means something?" Chu-Hua smiled, patting me on the shoulder. "If you still didn't get it, that small gesture basically meant they didn't want any harm to befall you until later on. They're trying to protect you until the Black Spirit Tournament is up!"

"Oh... is that how it works?" I casually confirmed since I really didn't know. I mean, it's only been a few hours since I got here, how would I be able to know their traditions and such in a short span of time? And of course, I'm not one to read between the lines of someone's gesture.

"Wait... but how do you know that you're chosen as well?"

"Oh, that?" Chu-Hua leaned in to whisper at my ears. "Well, my dad is part of the Inner Court, which is by the Main Building of the Gulong Household. He updates me of our Household Master's decisions every now and then. Don't tell anyone though, it's a little secret of mine."

"Are you sure you should trust me with that information? It seems a little important. I mean, rest assured that I'll keep it a secret, but what makes you think you can trust me? We literally just met a few hours ago."

"Well, it's either I trust you with my life or we die together in the Black Spirit Tournament. Either way, we're stuck with each other so I don't really have a lot of options. Besides, I've taken quite a liking to you... I also took you up on your offer a few moments ago— that I'll follow you for life thingy." She pointed out.

Ah yes, how could I forget. "Suit yourself then. And all the best for the two of us."

"Yep, all the best."
