The LVHM had a traditional of holding annual party before their meeting. People from all walks of life would attend this meeting. From top businessman to famous stars to top models from mainly European region were also invited.

There were countless celebrities in political and business circles, including some wealthy aristocrats even Dukes. Meanwhile Samuel was not on the waiting list, he was Delphina’s plus one. No one really cared about it because Delphina usually bring Sharon or sometimes a token men just to appease his father.

The venue was gigantic, the most lavish ceremony home at the edge of the city. It was quite near where Samuel was staying but not that remote like his mansion.

The large mansion was comparable to his with massive garden. The gravel road was decorated with beautiful flower and a array of hedges that were no sort of maze.

A huge plot of land was setup as parking lot where hundreds of valet were going in and out carefully delivering guest’s cars each of them were above a million euros which spoke volume for their identities.

The silver castle as the backdrop was just a cherry on top to the lacish facilities provided for more than three hundred guests. Rich food, beautiful company and heated conversation it was simply a gold mind for upcoming entrepreneur while at the same time a excellent way for others to relax and meet up with some old friends.

There were lack of young blood probably because of the large fashion event in the city. For some reason both parties were on same night but this party would be over half way through the fashion event.

In this way, these people could show their faces at the after-party. After all, these corporate event would never compare to the lush and vibrant parties of fashion elites where they could interact with a sea of models. Those with ulterior motives could also snare few new ’animals’ for their pleasure.

These people were very comfortable with their elite status. Four out of five would have several mistresses hidden from public eye, such conditions were true regardless of gender as rich women liked keeping house husbands and young bucks to satisfy their needs at their beck and call.

It was all because of the power dynamics, they had their own morals but at the same time they did it because they could and had wealth to justify it. This was what Lucie warned everyone about.

" Have you heard about it? It seems the old man had lost his touch. He is handing everything over to the prodigal son." One of them chuckled.

It was evident tonight was going to be the night where the future of LVHM group would be determined. The guests were not hopeful about Alan Arjo but as long as his father was alive they could safely bet the company would flourish but in short term they were betting it to take a hit.

They might praise him on the surface but deep down they knew they could safely ride the downward tide if they wanted to make quick money.

Several hedge fund managers had already placed their bet against the company. They were in short position for months now but they weren’t worried about losing money.

Firstly, they had a clear date when the ’event’ would happen and secondly they also knew they couldn’t hold it for too long because Bernard wouldn’t like their indiscretions. He might be old but he was well connected.

Alan making big splash waves had already aroused their suspicion. There was a risk of not knowing where the money was coming from but a cunning man like Bernard must have his means.

Delphina on the other hand was much more reserved. They knew she had lost his father’s trust or it was much more fair to say she never had his trust since the death of her mother but she was trying her best.

Everyone knew about her accolades, she was a prime example of beauty and brains especially in the field of doing business but her only disadvantage was that she was a woman.

For a old man like Bernard it was a line set in stone to respect theor traditional, passing the seat to a son. It might lead to some losses but that’s the price he had to pay for pampering him too much in his early days.

Those in Delphina’s corner had no way out until Samuel’s arrival. They didn’t know about the full truth or who was supporting the eldest lady but they could see the results.

She reverted back to her cool and calm self a week before this party. She told them she managed to get a satisfactory results in her negotiations and it would be best for them to stick together.

Their task was to ignore all snide comments and wait for her during the party. No matter what happened, they would enjoy a magnificent evening.

" Have you heard? Old man is going to make a big announcement." One of them said.

" Yes, It seemed it is set in stone. The eldest lady is pretty much lost. She doesn’t have any support." his companion said with a chuckle.

" Well, old man would end up regretting it. I don’t know what he sees in his son but from what I have heard about him the company would have to take a big hit before things settle normally."

" I don’t know, even if he might be old fashioned he had to get on with times. Delphina is a much better choice."

" I wouldn’t be sure about it. She might be doing good managing one arm of the corporation but the helm is a different matter. I just think he is doing a hasty job with this succession."

" We will see. Oh here comes the old man." Right on cue, Arnaud family came in looking all high and mighty. It was time for the real show to begin.
