Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 37 Phoenix In America

"Oh for the sake of… why did you call me in such a place?" A large bird with red feathers muttered as it stared at Zack.

The teenager however was left stunned by the fact that the Phoenix had appeared in front of him despite being out of the games.

After experiencing the recent events, the black-haired boy had thought that there was a 50-50 chance that the Phoenix would appear.

But thankfully, it had appeared in front of him.

"Hey kid, are you listening?" The Phoenix was speaking through its mouth instead of telepathy and Zack was able to understand everything.

"Yes, I am listening."

"Then why did you summon me here? This is not one of the realms in Hikari. This is… Earth." The Phoenix suddenly looked as though it had gotten enlightenment of some sort. "Forget what I said earlier. You need my help?"

"Yes, I need your help in reaching a certain person who is most likely about to be kidnapped." The teenager replied in a hurry as he recited the entire tale for the Phoenix and gave him WolfHeart's current location.

The mythical bird was someone who had lived for a long time and could tell when someone was lying or not. After looking at Zack, he could tell that the teenager was genuinely worried about his friend.

"Get on my back." The orange-feathered bird lowered himself a little to allow Zack to settle on his back. After that was done, he looked at the boy with a serious expression. "Since this is not Hikari, you don't have any mana or strength from that game protecting you. You know what this means?"

"I can get massive damage if you go at a really fast speed."

"Are you willing to risk your life on a gamble that will save your friend?"

"I have suffered worse things than her and I know what being a slave is like. But she is going to be tied here rather than Hikari and since she doesn't have her power here, things would be even worse." Zack gave his answer as the Phoenix determined that he was telling the truth.

The bird had met many humans and he had seen many people like Zack, those who thought that it was their duty to save others.

But the Phoenix could feel that the teenager was different than those humans.

"Then let's go." The mythical bird flapped his wings once and rose in the air.

Zack could feel the cold air hitting his face as he prayed that no one was seeing this.

But what the teenager didn't know was that all of the cameras that were in the area had glitched the moment he had tried to summon Chastiefol.

This meant that none of them had managed to record this.

But the black-haired boy's gaze was instead fixed on the description of Gugnir that had somehow appeared in front of his eyes.

[ Gugnir (myth): The lance of Kai, the god of timelines. Myths say that it can control timelines.

Skills: Rewind Timeline (Self): Can be used to return your body to a condition in the previous save spot. The body will return to that state of time.

- Can only be used once a week.

Other features are locked. ]

The moment he had thought about his body condition, the details of the lance had appeared in front of him.

Now looking at the lance, he was wondering what the save spot could be. But in the end, at least he had a way of making sure that he would be able to save himself in case anything went wrong.

'Why are you trying so hard to save her?' The voice in his head returned as the black-haired boy sighed.

'It's because I don't want her to go through that horrible thing.' He replied and heard a snort.

'Don't lie to me.' The voice sounded as though it knew that the teenager was lying.

'It's just that… she is my first friend.' Zack felt the presence of the voice go away as soon as it had gotten the truth.

After Zack had met Kai, he was hearing a voice in his head that would appear at random times. At first, he had thought that he had finally gone mad but it didn't appear so.

Most of the time, the voice would just ask him a question and after hearing the answer that satisfied it, it would vanish.

"Hey kid, I am going to speed up now." For the past few seconds, the Phoenix had been flying at a speed of one kilometer per hour as it had wanted Zack to get adjusted to flying.

But after he had seen that the teenager was not even flinching, he had decided that it was time for him to speed up.

"Go ahead." Zack tightened his grip on the Phoenix's neck as he gave a low screech and shot forward.

Zack had sat on a roller coaster a few times and he had been terrified of its speed. But riding the Phoenix in real life felt as though someone had increased the speed of the roller coaster by ten times.

Yet, he didn't scream, or rather, no sound came out of his mouth when he opened it to scream. He could feel every single cell inside his body shifting its positions.

His heart was currently located in his throat while his brain was now a chicken noodle soup.

'Hold on kid, I see the car from here.' The Phoenix said through telepathy as he slowed down. However, Zack felt as though he was about to die.

"Rewind… timeline." He somehow managed to say that while preventing himself from throwing out his organs.

All of a sudden, Gugnir appeared above the boy's head and the tip of the lance touched the top of his head.

The lance glowed once as Zack felt his entire body relaxing.

[ Current save spot: Sitting in the office of Doogle's CEO ]

A new message appeared in front of the teenager as he could finally breathe properly.

"Well, you look good for a first-time ride." The Phoenix commented as he was now flying at the speed of a bicycle moving on the land.

p None of the humans or technological devices below could see the Phoenix but when the other birds saw the magnificent flame-colored bird, they flew away at the speed of light as though their mothers were chasing them while holding their bad exam results.

"That's the car." Zack pointed towards a black BMW that was currently parked in front of a restaurant.

[ WolfHeart, where are you? ] The black-haired boy sent a message.

[ I managed to make them stop saying I had to pee. I am in the ladies' room now. ]

[ Stay there and don't move. ] Zack then asked the Phoenix to land on the ground.

After making sure that Zack was on the ground, the bird took off and the golden spear appeared in front of him again.

'Looks like no one else can see it.' The people walking on the sideways paid no attention to the spear and continued with their daily routine.

Zack however had his face altered with the mask he had worn to the event. He had asked Evangeline whether he could keep the mask and after getting her confirmation, he had placed the mask in one of the columns in his inventory.

'I just hope I look like a female…' The black-haired boy currently had the face of a girl using the mask and it seemed to match his hair.

Hopefully, he would be able to fool the officials from Miscosoft.

After entering the restaurant, he immediately spotted the officials drinking black coffee. They easily stood out from the crowd with their alert expressions and clothes. But they didn't spare Zack a second glance as he moved towards the ladies' room and slipped inside.

In front of the mirror, he saw a pink-haired woman anxiously washing her hands.

Zack, currently disguised as a woman, pressed the send button on his watch. The pink-haired woman immediately looked down at her watch before she raised her head and stared at Zack with a wide-open jaw.

But that was all the time that he needed to make Chastiefol appear behind her back and knock her out by hitting her neck.

"One problem is solved for now," Zack muttered as he bent down and grabbed the woman whose avatar's name was WolfHeart.

Now all he needed to do was get out of the place.
