Hidden Wife : Best Husband

Chapter 138 - 138 - Not Alone

A few hours later.

Now Dae Hyun has driven his car on a rather narrow road with gravel and rocky road conditions.

Dae Hyun's grandmother's place was located in a suburb away from the hustle and bustle. Very peaceful and not noisy because cars rarely enter the village area.

It had been ten years that Dae Hyun had not visited this village because his grandmother wanted to move to Ghosan after his grandfather died.

Nothing has changed at all with the village. The clothes were still wearing Korean traditional clothes and the people's work there was also still farming. The village still maintained the uniqueness and traditional Korean culture.

Dae Hyun stopped his car on the side of the road in front of the biggest house in the village. A traditional house with nuances of the Joseon dynasty. Dae Hyun's grandfather was once a village head who was highly respected by the local people. That may be the reason why her grandmother wanted to live in that house again.

Dae Hyun looked at Soo Yin's face who was still fast asleep. It turned out that his little wife was so sleepy that she didn't wake up at all during the trip. Dae Hyun stretched his muscles first before finally deciding to get out of the car.

In front of a house, an old woman with gray hair was struggling with something in her hand. She seemed absorbed in embroidery. Dae Hyun could see it because the gate was wide open.

Dae Hyun smiled when he saw his grandmother who was still healthy even though she was old. It was unexpected that they had not seen each other for almost a year.

"Grandmother?" Dae Hyun called when he was in the yard because his grandmother didn't seem to notice him.

The old woman raised her face when she heard the voice she missed so much. The old woman named Hae Sok narrowed her eyes then she put the minus glasses away.

"Grandma, it's me Dae Hyun." Dae Hyun immediately kissed her wrinkled hand with age and then hugged her body to express his longing. It turned out that the year was long enough that Hae Sok had probably forgotten about him.

"You really Dae Hyun? My grandson?" Hae Sok said while patting Dae Hyun's back. It was as if she dreamed that the man was visiting her.

"Grandma, I'm sorry I never visited you. Your grandson really doesn't know himself," Dae Hyun said regretfully.

"No need to apologize, Grandma is glad you finally came here," Hae Sok said. She was not angry at all with his eldest grandson because she knew Dae Hyun was very busy.

"Thank you, Grandma," Dae Hyun said.

"We should just chat inside. You must be very tired because the journey from Seoul takes quite a long time," Hae Sok said, who started packing her embroidery equipment.

"Grandma, actually I didn't come alone. I came with someone," Dae Hyun said carefully. He really hoped his grandmother will accept Soo Yin.

"Then where is it?" Hae Sok said as she looked around the courtyard but it seemed that no one was there.

"Wait a minute, Grandma. I'll call her because she's still asleep in the car." Dae Hyun immediately rushed to his car which was still parked on the side of the road.

Dae Hyun got back into the car and then immediately woke Soo Yin up, making the girl blink her eyes. Soo Yin yawned while stretching her stiff body muscles. Sleeping in a sitting condition made her waist felt sore.

"Are we there yet?" Soo Yin said while rubbing her eyes, which still wanted to be closed.

"Get up, later you can rest again inside. Your body must feel sore," Dae Hyun said as he reached out to massage his wife's shoulders.

"I'm fine," Soo Yin said as she pushed Dae Hyun's hand off of her shoulder because she was sure Dae Hyun must be much more tired than her.

Soo Yin, who was completely conscious, widened her eyes when she saw the houses on the right and left of the road, it was still traditional and still looked very beautiful.

"Are we at Grandma's village?" Soo Yin asked to make sure. She was amazed that in a modern era like this, there were villages that still maintain traditional culture.

"Come out, grandma is waiting inside," Dae Hyun said. He immediately helped Soo Yin to get out of the car.

Dae Hyun also took out some of the gifts he had brought from Seoul for his grandmother from the trunk. When Soo Yin was about to help carry their luggage, Dae Hyun refused because he didn't want to exhaust his little wife's body.

Soo Yin walked into the courtyard while turning around to look around the house. The yard was quite large with a beautiful environment. Soo Yin was glad Dae Hyun took her there because she can relax a little of her mind from her busy life in Seoul. When she got old Soo Yin also wanted to live in a village like this.

The girl was still standing in the yard even though Dae Hyun had entered the house.

"Honey, come in. Grandma is already waiting inside," Dae Hyun asked so that they immediately met his grandmother.

Soo Yin pursed her lips when Dae Hyun kept calling her to come in even though she still wanted to see the yard that was filled with flowers.

"Meet grandma first, then we can have a look again," Dae Hyun persuaded in a softer tone because his wife had an annoyed face.

"Okay," Soo Yin said, following Dae Hyun into the living room which was really still traditional. There were no sofas or chairs there. We can only sit together on the floor around a table.

Upon entering, it turned out that Hae Sok was not in the living room. She was telling the servants to prepare a banquet for his grandson.

"Where is grandma? You said she was waiting," Soo Yin said. She felt nervous again, so she squeezed her sweaty palms. Even though when she was outside earlier she was fine.

"Grandma was in for a while. Are you still worried?" Dae Hyun asked.

Soo Yin nodded while biting her lower lip.

"Don't be afraid, just think of it like meeting your own grandmother. Besides, my grandmother will not eat a girl as beautiful as you," Dae Hyun chuckled with amusement because his wife kept feeling anxious.

"You …." Soo Yin pinched Dae Hyun's waist tightly so he won't joke around.

"Sorry, grandmother went for a moment," Hae Sok said while smiling a friendly smile when she saw Soo Yin.

"Welcome to grandma's house," Hae Sok said to Soo Yin.

Soo Yin only gave a faint smile and then bowed her body to greet Hae Sok. In her heart she prayed that her husband's grandmother could accept her as daughter-in-law.

Soo Yin mistaken Hae Sok. After chatting for a bit, it turned out that Hae Sok was very friendly and fun. Not like those annoying, fussy old grannies.

Hae Sok treated them with traditional food and drinks.

"Grandma, just let me pour it," Soo Yin said when Hae Sok was about to pour water into their glasses.

"What is your name?" the grandmother asked while observing Soo Yin's face carefully. Even though she was no longer young, from the look on her face, Hae Sok was very beautiful when she was young.

"I'm Soo Yin, Grandma," Soo Yin said, a little nervous.

"Soo Yin, I hope you don't give up visiting this village," Hae Sok said with a smile.

"Of course not, I am very happy to be able to visit this beautiful village," Soo Yin said.

"Dae Hyun, why don't you bring Jo Yeon Ho? Even though grandmother wants to meet him too. He must have grown up now," Hae Sok said. She wanted to see her great-grandson so badly.

"He's been on an exam for several days so he can't participate. Next time I'll definitely take him," Dae Hyun said. Every time he came to visit Hae Sok, she rarely asked about Aeri. Grandma never forced Dae Hyun to come with Aeri.

"Then how's that model?" Hae Sok put on a sour face.

"She's fine," Dae Hyun said curtly.

"Does Grandma live alone in this house?" Soo Yin asked to change the subject because Dae Hyun must not like talking about Aeri.

"No, I live with some of the servants here. Did you come here with any particular purpose?" Hae Sok narrowed her eyes. She smelled something strange. A married man visits his grandmother with another girl, not his wife.

"She wants to learn to cook from Grandma," Dae Hyun said quickly.

"Really? Is that all?" Hae Sok asked.

"Th … that's all, Grandma," Soo Yin said, stammered. She glanced at Dae Hyun who was beside her.

"Good girl, grandmother is very happy if a young girl wants to learn to cook because now many of them choose to buy instant food," Hae Sok said with a nod of her head.

Soo Yin only smiled faintly at that. It's true that grandmother said, she can't even cook. She learned a little after marrying Dae Hyun.
