Chapter 120: 3 More...
Mike felt euphoric, it had been years since he did something like this but the satisfaction he felt when he dug his knife into him made the hair on his body stand.
He would have liked to put a bullet through his head but he couldn't do that unfortunately.
Kyle made sure he ran out of bullets and he didn't have another cartridge to reload his gun with.
Heck, he didn't even know he would need it in the first place but Kyle found a way to wriggle out of the situation but he was glad that he was dead now.
"Jane, I wonder how you are…" Mike said, staring at her name on his phone but he decided to give her a call nonetheless.
Her phone rang a couple of times but there was no answer until the automated voice took him to voice note but Mike wasn't interested in this.
He tried again and this time she picked up but she sounded distraught, Mike assumed that this was because of Kyle's disappearance as there was no way someone of his status disappearing for the entire day wouldn't go unnoticed.
"Are you okay?" Mike wore the mask of a friend but Jane's voice was cracked.
[[I'm not okay, Mike…]] Jane confessed, there was no point in lying about it.
"What's wrong? Do you have a cold or have you been crying?" Mike questioned.
He wanted to confirm that things were going according to plan, if she could talk then there was no way that Kyle's death had reached her or she would have shut down.
[[It is Kyle…]] Jane stopped herself from completing the sentence but before she could complete it, a sign of struggle could be heard there.
"Um… Jane? Are you okay?" Mike questioned. Find your next read on m_v l|e-NovelBin.net
[[Mike, leave her alone. She's in no state to talk to you…]] Ella barked but she didn't hang up the phone because Jane took it back soon after.
"Ella really doesn't like me, does she?" Mike laughed it off.
[[It isn't like that. We're at the hospital with Kyle so everyone is a little tense…]] Jane confessed.
It was past midnight so what the hell were they doing there but that wasn't the detail that surprised Mike.
"Kyle… is in the hospital?" Mike's voice broke.
He was sure that he had delivered a fatal wound, there was no way for him to survive that attack because it was a fatal blow, wasn't it?
[[I'm sorry! I didn't mean to get you worried but the doctor said he will be fine.]] Jane responded.
She heard his voice break and mistook that for him worrying about Kyle when it was the opposite.
Mike could hear Ella in the background telling her to hang up but Mike had one more question to ask.
"Which hospital are you?" But this was a question he never got the answer to because the phone hung up.
Mike's eyes widened in shock, he couldn't believe that Kyle survived the ordeal because there was only one thing he could do to rectify his mistake.
He had to find Kyle and kill him before he could speak to the police because he was unconscious and in no condition to talk to the cops even though Mke had no idea what state he was in.
Mike had a rough idea of the hospital that Kyle was in and that was the same one that Ella had been admitted to earlier.
But he knew the area would be under surveillance by the police, Kyle was a high profile man after all but Mike wasn't aware that to the police, Kyle was just a normal person but this was the advantage of false perception.
This could very well be the thing that saves his life.

The night passed and a new day arrived, Kyle was still unconscious but he was all right.
He might not be awake but his body was responding to treatment and the blood transfusion was a success as well. This was good news because they didn't have too many blood bags to spare.
The surgery had sewed together the torn flesh and the ruptured intensities within.
Jane and Ella spent the entire night there, it was understandable that Jane did this but Ella had no reason to.
She could easily support her friend from a distance so was she here because of Jane or Kyle?
Ella warned Jane to cut down on her communication with Mike because it might be deemed inappropriate to give him access to everything that was going on in her life, she knew that Jane might not see it as a big deal but this was mostly due to her inexperience but this was why she was here– to guide her.
She wasn't going to let Jane ruin what she had with Kyle with someone as inconsequential as Mike.
Ella was becoming stern in her stance and even though Jane didn't like it, she understood where Ella was coming from.
You can't be friends with someone that has shown an interest in you, the friendship ends there and then.
This was either Jane being hopeful or simply being nice but it wasn't helping her relationship with Kyle.
She needed to show Kyle what she was all about and hope that qualifies her to be his girlfriend.
The police officers were still lingering about and Nate came as early as he could to see how Kyle was doing.
"Good morning mate," Ella greeted but the way she pronounced it made it hard for him to pick out the connotation.
"Hi Ella, how're you?" Nate greeted her, she hadn't showered or freshed up yet she still looked so good.
Nate was surprised but before he could be drawn in fully, he looked over at Jane to greet her as well.
He could tell by a single look who was more affected by this, Jane had been crying and it was obvious due to her bloodshot eyes.
But a police officer finally approached them
after a brief conversation with the doctor.
