Chapter 331 On time (Part 2)

Chapter 331  On time (Part 2)

'Just one final strike,' the leader lion-man muttered, slowly hoisting his colossal sword from his shoulder and raising it high above his head.

As the massive blade ascended, a crimson energy surge emanated from him with each passing moment, exerting tremendous pressure. The force was so intense that even the other eight lion men halted their attacks momentarily and instinctively stepped back.

'Finally, our liege employs his Qi gathering technique.' the lion men marveled, their gazes filled with admiration and reverence, witnessing their Master's preparation for the most powerful attack in the lion man royal family's repertoire.

The mana that was contained within the leader lion-man's body was transformed into a vibrant red aura, which was then directed into his sword through the utilization of the Qi gathering technique.

The gathering aura of the sword was extremely powerful, but it came at a price. They could see their master's imposing physique deteriorating before their eyes with each pulse of the red energy, which caused him to become weaker and weaker.

After a while, even his hands that were holding the sword started to shake violently.

'My liege, giving it his all,' aggrieved the red-robed lion-man, observing his master's awe-inspiring might.

He knew that this attack could only be executed once per week and that it carried a significant drawback, leaving the body debilitated for the following three days.

Nevertheless, given the dire circumstances they faced, it was crucial to eliminate the Region Boss even a mere thirty seconds sooner, affording them additional time to evade the encroaching threat.

''Hold the Region Boss! '' the red-robed man commanded his fellow lion men, realizing the imminent demise of the Region Boss as it attempted a desperate counterattack.

''Shadow Shackles. ''

''Frostbind. ''

''Mindlock. ''

''Gravity Grasp. ''

After receiving this warning, the lion men who possessed control-type skills quickly activated their binding abilities, which stopped the Region Boss in its tracks and rendered it unable to move. They needed only three priceless seconds for their Master to launch his powerful attack.

The lion man's colossal sword began to lose its dazzling sheen, which was an unmistakable indication that it had reached its capacity and was getting ready to launch the attack.

At the same time, the appearance of the leader lion man, who had previously been adorned with mighty muscles and a mane that shimmered with royal splendor, now resembled that of an aged figure. His body had withered to its feeblest state, and his once-golden mane hung listlessly.

In spite of his feeble appearance, the lion man let out a roar that was surprisingly powerful, and it echoed throughout the environment.

''ROOARRRGHH''

This deafening roar was an indication that the lion man's technique had reached its pinnacle and that he was ready to launch the attack.

And then, with another muffled roar, he chanted the name of his attack-type skill, which, along with his technique, forms a combination.

''Blazing Soul Severance. ''

As soon as the skill was activated, the crimson aura that surrounded the enormous sword mutated into raging flames that burned with a color that was very similar to blood.

With the flames ignited, the lead lion man began to slowly bring down his sword, preparing to unleash these flames upon the Region Boss.

As all eyes remained fixated on their master, who continued the deliberate motion of swinging his sword, anticipation mounted for the arrival of this momentous strike against the Region Boss. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation, awaiting the release of the fearsome blood-red flames.

Yet, amidst this climactic scene, an extraordinary event unfolded, defying all expectations and comprehension.

Suddenly, an overwhelming pressure descended upon all the lion men, eclipsing the magnitude they had sensed from their master's sword by tens or even hundreds of times.

As the leader lion man slowly lowered his sword, the weight of this oppressive and suffocating pressure caused his hands to tremble. This caused him to be forced to halt his swing halfway through.

The wave of pressure, like a cascading force, affected not only the lion men and the Region Boss, but even the fierce flames that had burned blood-red upon the leader lion man's sword were instantly quenched. Similar to how a gust of wind can put out a match, the accumulated aura dissipated and vanished in the blink of an eye.

'What?!' The leader lion-man's powerful attack was abruptly halted, leaving him stunned as he stared at his sword, now devoid of its blazing flames. The weight of an inexplicable pressure bore down upon him, rendering him motionless and speechless, as if his very being had been ensnared.

Every single lion man that was there experienced a sensation of their bodies freezing over as they came under the influence of this mysterious force, with their movements being constrained by an unseen force. Fear swept through them, mixing with the bewilderment that they felt, as they hung motionless in a state of eerie stillness.

Seconds stretched into an eternity as the lion men and the Region Boss remained trapped, locked in immobility. The atmosphere grew heavy with anticipation as if time itself had come to a standstill.

Then, driven by a primal instinct to resist, the leader lion man summoned his dwindling reserves of strength, unleashing a mighty roar that reverberated through the air.

''RAARRRGGHH ''

Summoning every ounce of his dwindling strength, his body frail and weakened, he slowly lowered his sword, turning his gaze towards the origin of the crushing pressure.

And at that precise moment, as his eyes landed on the origin of this pressure, a sensation that he had never before experienced in his life suddenly materialized inside of him.

A feeling that is fueled by fear, but which is much more frightening than that.

The lion-man's eyes could only bear witness for a fleeting second to the entity shrouded in black, stagnant flames hurtling towards him.

*Thud*

In that instant, he lowered his head, relinquishing his grip on the sword that had been his unwavering companion. The lion man, a prince of royal lineage, destined for greatness and the embodiment of pride, now bowed his head in submission for the first time in his life. In this unparalleled confrontation, he surrendered to a force, unlike anything he had ever encountered before.

*Thud*

*Thud*

*Thud*

..

.

The lion-man found himself in a state of uncertainty, as he was unable to determine whether the sounds he heard were the sound of the weapons dropping from the hands of his servants or the sound of their own bodies hitting the ground as they knelt before the approaching entity.

The mounting pressure weighed on him with each passing moment, leaving him paralyzed with fear and incapable of raising his gaze to seek an answer.

His entire being was consumed by the desperate struggle to maintain his tattered form, to remain upright, and to defy the overwhelming urge to surrender. In this pivotal moment, there was no space for contemplation or introspection; his entire being was wholly dedicated to the singular objective of defying the urge to kneel.

In the eerie stillness that had descended upon them, the lion-man leader waited with his head bowed and his eyes cast downward. He did not dare to raise his gaze because even the thought of mustering the courage to do so seemed like an impossible task. His mangled body trembled, barely managing to keep its composure in the face of the strain.

A number of agonizing seconds dragged on, each moment being pregnant with the feeling of impatience.

The lion-man leader could feel the temperature of the air rising, and it was getting increasingly uncomfortable as it got closer to his body. But just as the searing heat reached its peak, it vanished into thin air as if it had never been there.

Then, the faint sound of erratic footsteps reached his ears, each footfall carrying a sense of weariness.

Before long, a hoarse and low voice accompanied the steps, resonating in the stillness.

''Looks like I arrived just in time. ''

The voice carried the weight of exhaustion, yet its mere utterance extinguished any remnants of resistance within the leader lion man and his comrades.

*Thud*

With his dwindling strength utterly depleted, the leader lion man's frayed body could no longer withstand the strain. He succumbed to his knees, the final vestiges of his resolve crumbling away.

The sounds of Raydon's heavy and staggering approach could be heard all around as he peered in all directions with bloodshot eyes.

He had pushed his body to its new limits to get here as quickly as possible, as his face was now completely bloody due to the veins bursting on his forehead, and he had even completely lost sight of one of his eyes, which was filled with blood and was oozing with blood from the sides.

The veins in his arms and torso had also ruptured, which caused him to be covered in blood, but the most damage appeared to be in his legs.

As the leader lion man mustered the courage to raise his eyes slightly, he was met with the horrifying sight of two legs, covered in blood, with exposed muscles and even bones visible.

It was a grotesque image that confirmed his belief that this entity was undoubtedly a demon. Overwhelmed by fear, he quickly averted his gaze, bowing his head once more.

Had the lion men dared to lift their heads and witness the state of Raydon's body, they might have found within themselves the confidence and will to launch an attack. After all, Raydon appeared no different from a dying man in his current state.

But fortunately, because he was currently using the Presence Aura, they had no desire to fight or oppose him, and Raydon did not have the strength to fight anyway.
