Chapter 233 Supreme Tier

"Besides, who could teach Raydon the techniques of a Grand Family? " Arden asked.

He found it even more unbelievable that this technique was part of a Grand Family than he did the fact that Raydon's master had taught him a second high-tier technique.

Zephyr exhaled deeply before responding with a sigh, "Well, that's another mystery, but I'm not talking about that."

''I'm referring to the first technique he demonstrated to us. ''As he spoke, he looked at Cael before continuing. "It wasn't just a high-tier technique, right? ''

Cael finally opened his mouth and said, "That's right."

''It wasn't a high tier? So, what tier was that? '' After a moment of silence, Arden questioned with suspicion.

Because the most powerful technique they possessed was a mid-tier, and because the only information they had about techniques of the higher tier came from techniques used by other families, they were unable to fully comprehend the power of the technique.

However, they were also aware that the technique that Raydon utilized was far too powerful to be classified as a mid-tier one. This brought only one answer to their minds.

''Don't tell me? It was a supreme tier? How? '' Arden had finally reached an understanding of the situation and responded in a state of shock.

Cael was the focus of everyone's attention, including Zephyr's, as they held their breath and awaited his response with bated breath.

"That's right, without a doubt, it was a supreme-tier technique. ''

''Are you kidding me? Do you mean to tell me that someone who isn't even 20 years old and who has only been an item holder for 20 days uses a supreme technique? This is a load of bullshit. '' Elara lost all control of herself and slammed her fist onto the table that was already loaded with crack, causing it to completely collapse.

"You two made a secret agreement, didn't you? And now you're playing with us," Seren exclaimed, her composure slipping away.

''We are no longer able to explain this by the fact that he has a high-rank master because this is not something that can even be learned through the instruction of another person. ''

''That's right. And that is also the reason why I said that the important one is not his master anymore but rather he himself. '' Zephyr got to his feet, reached behind him, and grabbed a bottle of wine. Then, he downed the first half of the bottle in one gulp before continuing.

"He has the potential to become a high rank. No, it's not just potential; I'm sure he will reach it. ''

Everyone now had a heightened awareness as a result of Zephyr's words.

If the technique that Raydon employed was, in fact, a supreme technique, then they ought to do whatever it takes to keep him in the family. Even if it means handing over the entire family treasure as well as the rest of the family if that is what it takes.

The only explanation that made sense for how Raydon was able to use a supreme tier technique, which was not something that could be learned through the normal channels of instruction, was that he had the ability to create it on his own.

And being a genius wasn't enough for an item holder to develop a supreme-tier technique.

For instance, Raydon was able to discover the technique that they referred to as the Domain by first employing a meditation technique that enabled him to feel his soul, then employing a cultivation technique that enabled him to take control of his mana combined with the ash element that was contained within his soul, and finally employing the aura technique that enabled him to release this mana by materializing it.

Raydon utilized three different techniques, each of which was considered to be of a high tier in this world; however, as a result of him combining all three of these techniques, he was able to create a supreme-tier technique.

Also, it was not enough for Raydon to know only three different high-tier techniques in order for him to be able to create this supreme-tier technique; rather, he had to have mastered each of these techniques to the highest possible level as well.

It was possible to learn a high-tier technique quickly or slowly, depending on the skill of the person teaching it; however, fully mastering a high-tier technique was not something that anyone could do in just twenty days.

Techniques were of critical significance for item holders. After all, in order to advance in rank as an item holder, one had to do well in matches that were held at specific times, and in general, especially in the later ranks, the items and body enchantments that everyone had in these matches were of the highest quality. As a consequence of this, the difference in power was typically determined by their respective titles and techniques.

The best illustration of this can be found in the time when Raydon was still an F-Rank and he used the berserker technique to defeat the region boss by himself. Another example is that even though Herman was an E-Rank item holder, he was still able to kill him with the berserker technique.

The current leader of the Demugen family was unable to reach the high rank for a number of years because he was unable to make a difference in power with only his title and a mid-tier technique in B-Rank matches, where everyone has a complete set of items and stat builds. Because these are matches in which even a minor increase in strength can make a significant difference in the outcome for item holders with similar strengths.

After weighing all of these factors, Zephyr and the others came to the conclusion that Raydon's worth was unquestionably significantly greater than the high rank they had been aiming for all along. Due to the fact that Raydon possessed such potential, it was certain that in the future he would definitely reach the high rank that the head of the Demugen Family has been working toward achieving for a number of years at this point.

In addition, Raydon already possessed their surname and was considered a member of this family, in contrast to his master, who is an absolute stranger to them.
