Silence hung in the air after Ma Li left the room. The city Lord stared at his wife and gulped his saliva before speaking.

"Shi Jie, Dear wife! what brings you here?"

Several question marks appeared on Ma Mingli's face hearing her wife's accusation. He only ever had a single wife because he loved Shi Jie. He never cheated on her because he never found anyone other than her attractive.

Shi Jie leaned on Ma Mingli's shoulder and whispered in his ears sensually.

With a happy smile on her face, Shi Jie walked out of the hall. She also tied up her clothes before walking out.

Ma Mingli immediately ordered the servants to bring all of the day's work so he could finish it as soon as possible.

His personal advisor could not understand what had gotten into the city lord but he was happy that the man was motivated for a change.

Everyone was also confused about why the City Lord was wearing a mask but they dared not to ask because once in a while he would have a weird phase where he would do things out of the blue.

It was not their place to judge so they just ignored his actions.

A boy came out of the cave and made his way towards a huge beast that had almost killed him a few days ago.
