Chapter 1852 - All Under Control
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, Su Yi charged.
He took a step forward, and his aura rumbled and boomed. His Immortal Origin Space seemed to ignite within him, resonating with his blood and even his soul.
The dazzlingly bright light of the Grand Dao rose from his entire body as his imposing majesty soared to unprecedented heights.
But when Qing Wu saw this, her beautiful eyes flashed with derision. They say a cornered dog will try to jump over a wall. Seems it's true. Very well, let him try. If he wants to try me, I don’t mind slapping him down.
Boom!
Her Great Profound Stage cultivation base boiled over as she circulated it to its maximum power. Her Crescent Moon Blade flowed with imposing Dao Light as she readied herself for battle.
She understood the limits of Su Yi’s strength, but she wouldn’t get complacent. After all, a lion used its full strength even when hunting a rabbit.
If Su Yi dared draw near, she’d strike with unstoppable force and end this battle once and for all.
“Activate!” Su Yi raised his right hand into the air. The Sword of the Human Realm let out a clear, impassioned hum, shaking the firmament.
Su Yi’s charging figure suddenly disappeared into midair.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
But Qing Wu had grown accustomed to this. She immediately sent a swath of blade qi flying through the air, covering everything on all sides like a perfectly round blade curtain!
Practically simultaneously, Su Yi appeared in the sky above her, raised the Sword of the Human Realm, and swung furiously.
Bang!!
A heaven-shaking impact rang out. The surrounding blade qi split, scattering countless raindrops of light.
Qing Wu’s pupils constricted, and her hair stood on end.
When that slash fell, it was like a boundless Sea of Bitterness was descending upon her with terrifying suppressive force.
Its terrifying power far exceeded her initial estimate, but she reacted quickly. Her cultivation base rumbled and boomed, and she swung her knife furiously.
Kaboom!
The Sea of Bitterness churned as a slash cleaved it open, but Qing Wu didn’t get off lightly either. The power of Su Yi’s slash was far greater than before, and it was full of an indescribable, taboo sword force. She swayed on impact, and it almost forced her back.
Su Yi seized the moment to strike again. He poured the full extent of his cultivation base into this next attack. It formed a sort of Sword Domain imbued with the mysteries of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
This strike strove for indestructibility and invincible force. It was the strongest attack currently at Su Yi’s disposal.
The Six Paths Sword Wheel!
But unlike before, Su Yi poured as much of the Sword of the Nine Hells’ aura into this attack as he could.
Boom!!
Heaven and earth shook violently, and throughout the surrounding area, the Magnetic Origin Light split and broke.
Su Yi’s strike was like the descent of the Netherworld. Visions of the Six Paths of Reincarnation cycled within it, dark and mysterious. The surrounding sky withered and sank into oblivion.
Qing Wu gasped. The aura emanating from this strike made even her catch a whiff of an impending lethal threat!
But it was too late to dodge. All she could do was clash with it head-on.
Clang!!
A heaven-shaking impact rang out. Qing Wu felt a piercing pain in her wrists, and the Crescent Moon Blade flew from her grip.
She visibly lost her composure and rushed after it, but just as she was about to retrieve her weapon, a large, fair hand seized the Crescent Moon Blade.
It belonged to Su Yi! The moment he seized the weapon, he flashed through the air and reappeared in the distance.
Then, he looked at Qing Wu and laughed. “Can you withstand the Magnetic Origin Light without this?”
Losing her Epoch Treasure left Qing Wu frantic and enraged, but when she heard Su Yi’s jeers, an explosion went off in her head, as if she’d been struck by lightning.
A moment later, she understood. Su Yi never had any intention of fighting me to the death. He just wanted to knock my weapon out of my hands!! This way…
Qing Wu instinctively looked up and saw an avalanche of Magnetic Origin Light descending upon her. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
“Save me——!” Qing Wu shrieked.
Boom!!!
She instantly suffered heavy damage, leaving her body battered and broken, as if countless knives had torn into her at once. Her flesh was little more than an indistinct, meaty pulp.
The Magnetic Origin Light was a fragmented Epoch Law to begin with, similar to the power of divine misfortune mixed into the Laws of the Immortal Realm or the power of karmic attachments in the ruins of the Dragon Palace.
The difference was that although the Magnetic Origin Light was incomparably explosive, it was also fragmented. It couldn't threaten Great Profound experts if they dodged in time.
At least, that had been true before. It was different here. Su Yi had chosen to fight here, so close to the Magnetic Origin Light Pillar, because this place was completely covered in Magnetic Origin Light.
Qing Wu no longer had the Crescent Moon Blade, and the light was all around her. There’d be no avoiding serious injuries now!
Su Yi wasn’t at all polite. He immediately charged and swung his sword at Qing Wu.
But at this critical juncture, Gu Yunchan intervened!
He beat his black wings and gripped a roughly ten-foot bronze fishing pole. In a flash, he was right in front of Su Yi, and he swung his fishing rod at the Book of Karma.
His momentum was incredibly weighty and incomparably tyrannical!
There was no doubt about it. Gu Yunchan planned to give a tooth for a tooth. So long as he knocked the Book of Karma out of Su Yi’s hands, he’d face the onslaught of the Magnetic Origin Light too.
But it was then that Su Yi did something entirely unexpected. Before Gu Yunchan could knock the Book of Karma out of his hands, Su Yi flung it.
Bang!
The Book of Karma collided with the fishing rod and was sent flying.
Su Yi disregarded the Magnetic Origin Light and seized the opportunity to attack, swinging his sword at Qing Wu with all his might.
As if he’d steeled himself to kill her even if he died in the attempt.
“No——!” Qing Wu let out a desperate shriek. Terror and dread were written all over her beautiful face.
She was badly injured, and she’d yet to even break free of the Magnetic Origin Light. There was no way she could dodge Su Yi’s attack, so she tried to block... only for it to split her in two.
In the end, only her soul escaped.
It tried to flee, but her efforts were in vain, as the turbulent Magnetic Origin Light filling the area quickly sealed off her soul’s escape routes.
Su Yi faced an onslaught of Magnetic Origin Light too, but at a critical juncture, he took out Qing Wu’s Crescent Moon Blade and blocked the bulk of it. The remainder, he neutralized by circulating the power of reincarnation.
Without the slightest hesitation, he shot toward the Magnetic Origin Light Pillar. He wanted to create as much distance from Qing Wu’s soul as possible.
He knew how frenzied and insane Qing Wu was, and if she lashed out in the face of death, he didn’t want to be anywhere near her.
He was also on guard against Gu Yunchan seizing the opportunity to attack him.
“Save me! Save me——!!!”
Qing Wu’s soul shrieked in terror and struggled like mad, but her struggles seemed weak and ineffectual in the face of that boundless Magnetic Origin Light.
Gu Yunchan didn’t try to attack Su Yi. Instead, he rushed in and saved Qing Wu’s soul right in the nick of time.
However, it was already badly damaged. Only a wisp of it remained…
“I’m sorry.” Gu Yunchan sighed. “I arrived one step too late.”
What remained of Qing Wu’s soul quivered, resentment written all over her face as she hissed, “Did you really even try to arrive in time? You obviously just want to get your hands on the Book of Karma! You don’t care about my life or death at all!”
She saw it all clearly. Gu Yunchan should have been able to save her in time, but he was so focused on acquiring the Book of Karma that he didn’t!
Gu Yunchan furrowed his brow in displeasure. “Qing Wu, you…”
Before he could finish, Qing Wu shrieked, “I’m going to die, so you can forget about living!”
Boom!
The remains of her soul exploded.
The strangest part was that there was a mysterious pearl hidden in the remains of her soul. It was obviously a secret treasure intended to protect it.
Yet now, the pearl exploded too, erupting with an all-encompassing burst of destructive power.
Gu Yunchan hadn’t anticipated that she’d be this frenzied, and he couldn’t dodge in time. The explosion left him badly injured, and he flew through the air and landed several hundred feet away.
Splurt!
Gu Yunchan coughed up blood, and his face paled. He was completely drenched in blood, and in many places, his flesh was pulped, revealing his bones. His black wings were battered and bloodstained, too. He was obviously badly injured.
“Damn that madwoman!!” Gu Yunchan cursed, his expression ashen.
Su Yi watched this play out from afar, but he wasn’t at all surprised. He’d seen Qing Wu turn on her allies in the ruins of the Dragon Palace, too. He knew that when she lost it, she had no reservations whatsoever!
The only thing Su Yi found a pity was that he’d been unable to seize the opportunity to launch an additional attack on Gu Yunchan…
“Your methods are quite something.” Gu Yunchan’s expression darkened as he looked at Su Yi, making no effort to disguise his hatred or murderous intent.
He raised his golden fishing rod, created a glittering golden curtain of light, and blocked the onslaught of Magnetic Origin Light.
“You planned this from the moment the battle began. Am I wrong?” Gu Yunchan said icily.
Su Yi didn’t deny it. “When your strength is insufficient, all you can do is resort to schemes.”
“Just as I thought.” Gu Yunchan’s eyes flashed with sharp light. “You could have broken through my Thousand Currents Heaven-Sealing Restriction right from the start, but you didn’t. I wondered why not, but now, I finally understand. You were putting yourself at risk in hopes of tricking and killing us!”
He sighed. “I have to admit that you’re quite something, and you’re ruthless, too. I wouldn’t have guessed that you’d get a divine daughter like Qing Wu killed.”
He meant every word, too.
Su Yi’s scheme wasn’t particularly impressive, but it was ruthless, and he’d had to risk himself to pull it off. Still, in the end, he’d succeeded in getting Qing Wu killed!
The most terrifying part was how decisively Su Yi had tossed the Book of Karma away. There was no way Gu Yunchan could resist such enticing bait.
But it was because he was so fixated on the Book of Karma that he missed his opportunity to save Qing Wu!
Su Yi corrected, “No, you got her killed. You had to choose between saving your ally and seizing a treasure, and you chose the treasure. It’s no wonder she lashed out at you in the end.”
Gu Yunchan’s eyelids twitched, and he frowned. “Don’t tell me Qing Wu’s violent response was part of your plans?”
Su Yi said casually, “I wouldn’t go so far as to say I planned it, but I was there when she lost it and backstabbed Qing Xiao and Jin Zhuliu. It seemed entirely reasonable that she might lash out at you before she died, too.”
Gu Yunchan’s heart shook. This guy is simply terrifying! He’s more than just ruthless. He took advantage of every aspect of this battle. In the end, he succeeded in leading Qing Wu to her death, and even I was badly injured. Everything’s actually been under his control this entire time!
What do you think?
