Something shimmered in the pond but it didn’t have special sacred water or dew. One glance told Jiang Qingmei nothing.

The light came from the center of the pond, not a reflection of the starry rays above. She couldn’t see the true nature of this light, only recognizing its faint glow covering the whole pond despite her capable cultivation.

Each drop of water contained countless light particles, hence the glow. Despite filling the water to the brim, no light ever escaped the physical boundary of the pond.

Perhaps water was never here in the first place but due to the high concentration of the light, it took on liquid form.

Despite its humble size, it lasted all of this time. Of course, this was expected since it was a supreme source. Others just couldn’t recognize it.

“This is the first lake, right?” She asked without confidence.

She once thought the progenitor had condensed worldly energy into the form of a lake with a liquid usable by primal ancestors for direct cultivation. However, this pond didn’t look special enough.

“Do you know why your progenitor experienced countless trials of destruction?” Li Qiye asked.

She stared at it and murmured: “Because of this first lake?”

“Yes.” Li Qiye smiled.

If this didn’t come from Li Qiye, she wouldn’t have believed it. What kind of damage could this pond inflict?

“This is the thing that can make someone an immortal?” She asked.

“Yes.” Li Qiye focused on the sliver of light alone.

“What must one do? Drink the liquid?” She said with disbelief.

“If you can drink it without dying, you’re already an immortal.” Li Qiye chuckled.

“I see, then how else?” She asked.

“Bathe in it. Once you can swim, you earn the qualification to become an immortal.” Li Qiye said.

“That’s it?” She took a deep breath.

“Pretty much.” Li Qiye smiled.

She wanted to reach in and get a taste of this magical liquid.

“You will die here by being reckless. Be prepared first before trying.” Li Qiye stopped her and shook his head.

“What must I do?” She didn’t think she would die because of this simple pond.

“Loosen my robe.” Li Qiye slowly raised both hands to the sides and said. [1]

She had never done anything like this before. If a man were to suggest this, she would kill him immediately.

However, he was a mythical figure. He stood with both hands readied, waiting to be served like a noble.

She took a deep breath and lowered her head, untying the buttons one by one. Her fingers trembled during the act. She felt them becoming hot with lightning coursing through.

Finally, Li Qiye stood there naked while she had her head lowered. Nevertheless, she still stole glances when possible.

He walked into the pond without hesitation, soaking in the liquid. Meanwhile, she focused her mind and no longer felt embarrassed.

She found as if he was born in this pond once and was merely returning to it - the origin of all worlds, the so-called primordial.

“Would you like to try?” His lazy voice woke her up.

“I, I go in too?” She stammered.

“No, even your progenitor suffered immensely before doing it.” Li Qiye said: “Sacrifice one finger first and understand why.”

“Sacrifice a finger?” She didn’t understand.

Li Qiye sent a primordial light into her index finger, causing her to feel something locking her very being.
