Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King

Chapter 1970: Victory!

Chapter 1970: Victory!

A transparent blue vine that was almost crystalline in appearance swept through the air before striking A'Ruheng without holding back in the slightest.

A loud crackling noise rang out, and A'Ruheng's entire body spasmed violently.

Even with the incredible defensive prowess of his Invincible Vajra Body, he was electrocuted to the point of frothing at the mouth, and his eyes completely rolled over as he instantly fell unconscious.

Tang Wulin withdrew his Sea God's Trident before grabbing onto the unconscious A'Ruheng, then tossed him toward Long Yeyue, who immediately caught him.

Immediately thereafter, Tang Wulin lashed out with his Lightning God Whip again, targeting Xie Xie on this occasion.

Even though A'Ruheng didn't possess a suit of battle armor, he possessed the best defensive prowess out of Tang Wulin's eight opponents, yet even he was unable to withstand Tang Wulin's Lightning God Whip, so no one else had a chance.

Thus, one whip strike was unleashed after another, and Shrek's Six Monsters were quite knocked unconscious before being tossed toward the four LImit Douluos.

This was a truly astounding spectacle, and the spectating Great Beasts were involuntarily recoiling as they looked on from the distance.

Once every 100,000 years, a Great Beast would have to undergo a lightning tribulation.

Transcending the tribulation would allow them to live for 100,000 more years and grant them even greater power, but failure to transcend the tribulation would spell death.

Thus, all of these Great Beasts were extremely familiar with elemental lightning tribulation, and in their eyes, being struck by Tang Wulin's Lightning God Whip was most likely a very similar experience.

With that in mind, a hint of fear surfaced in their eyes as they appraised Tang Wulin.

Speculating about Tang Wulin's power was one thing, but seeing it in person was something completely different.

The Dragonslaying Saber in his hand reverted back into the form of Sima Jinchi, and his eyes were initially glazed over, but they quickly regained their clarity. He looked around at the surrounding scenes, and a dumbstruck look appeared on his face. "Wh, what happened to me?"

Tang Wulin patted him on the shoulder, and said, "You're alright now; go and join everyone else."

Sima Jinchi seemed to be in the process of recovering his memory, and he nodded in response before flying toward Long Yeyue and the others.

Everyone else could fall under Gu Yuena's control, but the law-enforcing saber of the dragon clan wasn't something that she could control.

While it was indeed true that she was a part of the Dragon God, the status that the Dragonslaying Saber held in the dragon clan was completely unique. Even though she had managed to temporarily control Sima Jinchi, the seed of spiritual control that she had planted in his mind was automatically eradicated once he transformed into the Dragonslaying Saber at Tang Wulin's behest.

This was a trump card that Tang Wulin had prepared, but he was forced to unveil it early in order to end this first battle as quickly as possible.

Thus, the battle concluded, and throughout its duration, Gu Yuena displayed no intention to intervene.

Tang Wulin turned toward her, and he was met by her cold gaze.

"I won, so I have the right to refuse one of your five conditions now, right?" Tang Wulin asked.

Gu Yuena nodded in response. "Go ahead."

Tang Wulin immediately said, "I choose to refuse your fourth condition, which requires the execution of all human Soul Masters and prohibits more Soul Masters from emerging in the future."

Gu Yuena's eyes narrowed slightly as she replied, "Alright."

Tang Wulin continued, "In that case, send out my opponents for the second battle."

Gu Yuena seemed to have already decided the lineups in advance, and she immediately waved her right hand, upon which several figures emerged. Tang Wulin's brows furrowed slightly at the sight of his opponents.

His opponents for this second battle were still all powerful beings of the human race, and they were led by none other than Guan Yue.

In addition to him, there was also Yu Guanzhi, Zhang Huanyun, and Dong Zi'an, all of whom were also important military figures who had fallen under Gu Yuena's control as well.

The remaining members of the group were even more familiar to Tang Wulin; they were comprised of Yuanen Zhentian, Yuanen Tiandang, and Tong Yu.

This was a lineup of seven Limit Douluos!

In contrast with the lineup for the first battle, this one was undoubtedly more powerful on paper. Among the seven Limit Douluos were two quasigods, and the rest were certainly no slouches, either.

However, Tang Wulin was rather relieved to see them. At the very least, Da Ming and Er Ming weren't going to feature in this battle.

Tang Wulin had never faced Da Ming and Er Ming before, but both of them had once been gods, and their powers had only been debilitated by th restrictions of the plane. Now that the planar restrictions were loosening through planar evolution, there was a very good chance that they would've already regained their godly powers to a certain extent, and if they were to face him alongside the seven Limit Douluos, that battle would be virtually impossible for him to win.

Thankfully, the situation wasn't that bad; if it were only a lineup of seven Limit Douluos, then this battle could potentially even be less difficult for him than the previous one.

The seven Limit Douluos arranged themselves into a row in front of Tang Wulin, and all of them had vacant looks in their eyes.

Tang Wulin took a deep breath before extending an inviting hand gesture, but none of the Limit Douluos displayed any reaction.

"Let's begin," Gu Yuena declared.

Before the seven Limit Douluos had a chance to move, Tang Wulin had already sprung into action.

To everyone's surprise, instead of seizing the initiative to go on the offensive, he retreated like lightning, opening up a distance of several kilometers between himself and his opponents in the blink of an eye.

In everyone's eyes, Tang Wulin's forte lied in melee combat, so why was he distancing himself from his opponents and allowing the seven Limit Douluos more time and space to unleash their abilities?

However, in the next instant, Tang Wulin immediately answered the questions in everyone's minds through his actions.

A massive purple flower bloomed behind him, and at the same time, his greenish-golden soul ring began to glow. All of a sudden, Tang Wulin seemed to have transformed into a vortex that was devouring all types of elemental energy particles in the air in a frenzy.

This was his Devouring Heaven and Earth!

It had been a very long time since he had used this ability as his baseline recovery ability was normally sufficient to support him in battle, but this battle was different.

Inside the array, he had no chance to recover at all, and he had expended a lot of energy after unleashing so many of his most powerful attacks in succession. Furthermore, this was only the second battle, and it was clear that his opponent for the final battle was going to be Gu Yuena.

Thus, he had chosen to adopt this tactic in order to recover as much as possible.

In the distance, the Eternal Tree was releasing rich life energy that was also being funneled into Tang Wulin's body through Devouring Heaven and Earth.

As a result, a layer of green light immediately appeared around him, and his life force and aura were both elevating rapidly.

In the distance, the Great Beasts were becoming rather nervous upon seeing this.

In their eyes, Tang Wulin should've been no match for Gu Yuena. That wasn't to say that the Golden Dragon King was inferior to the Silver Dragon King, but Tang Wulin hadn't even fully absorbed all of the energy of the Golden Dragon King yet, whereas Gu Yuena had no such issues.

Even though she wasn't in her most powerful state as the Silver Dragon King, that was only because she was being affected by the restrictions of this plane.
