[Vol.4] Quest 371.5- Relic From The Past
West of the city.
“Mmm…” Fels was looking around for Metis. “Where could she be?”
They walk through a few alleyways when they see a familiar language graffitied on the wall.
“!?” Fels stopped and looked at the words. “Metidarin!?” Fels quickly read it and knew where Metis was going. “Heh.” Fels let out a chuckle. “How far does your wisdom extend? We could have gone together.”
Fels quickly took off without hesitation.
Fels ran for two whole days, an easy task considering they have no flesh.
They arrived at the far outskirts of Altena.
Tap-Tap!!
Tap-Tap!!
Tap-Tap!!
Arriving at a dilapidated building, inside it was Metis.
“Two days, huh?” Metis said. “That body sure has its perks.”
“I ran here as fast as I could. How did you get here?”
“Horseback. Zeus is fantastic with his words. So do you mind if we collect the Philosopher’s Stone?”
Fels wasn’t surprised they knew; she knew of Cirrus, so she would, of course, know more things.
“… What are you going to do with it?”
“I’m not gonna do anything. You are going to give it to Elysium.”
“Why would Cirrus need it?”
“Well, he doesn’t need it per se, but it would help him greatly. So open up your cache and give it to him.”
“Tell me why. Why did you hide the fact that my son would be returning as—”
“He is no longer your son, Fels. He is Elysium.”
“He is my son, Metis.” Fels walked up to them and stared them down. “No matter what, he is MY son.”
“I am not arguing with you on that. I simply state that the man known as Cirrus Zephyr is dead. Now only the god Elysium took his place.”
“…” Fels simply looks at their former goddess. “He is Cirrus. I will not have another word, Lady Metis.” Fels walked past her and knelt.
They placed their hands on the ground, and it glowed, revealing several puzzles.
“Very well. I just wanted you to know that.”
Fels moved the pieces, and soon enough, the floor disappeared, revealing a set of stairs.
“…Is that all, Lady Metis?”
“It is. Give him the stone, and your sins will be forgiven.”
“!!” Fels quickly looked at her. “M… My sins!?”
“Yes. You may be able to finally pass on.”
“…I do not need that. I still have responsibilities left to finish.”
“Hmm…. Let’s collect the stone.”
They go down the stairs to Fels’ cache. The room is littered with several old and broken magical items with gold coins and jewelry.
At the very end of the room was a very fancy and shiny treasure chest.
“Oooh! Very nice!”
“That is not the stone.” Fels walked to the left and picked up a dull-looking red gem in the room's corner. “This is. Hidden in plain sight."
“Then what’s in the chest?”
“Death. A trap I created.”
“Can I see the stone?”
“By all means.”
Fels hands Metis the Philosopher’s Stone.
“Oooo… You certainly are a genius. To have created this.” She walked up the stairs.
“Yes, the reason I am who I am. Why, I no longer have flesh.” Fels followed Metis back up.
“Hmm… But it is still flawed.”
“Hm? How so—!?”
Metis's divinity spiked massively; beautiful colors emanated from her usage of Arcanum.
“There we go!” The stone gained radiance to match her glowing, bright red hair. “Make sure you take it to Elysium in Dragon Valley. And know that I love you, my child.”
She tossed Fels back the stone, now a brilliant red.
“Lady Metis.”
Boom!!
Shine!!!
An iridescent light from the heavens shot down at her.
“It was nice to see you again, Fels! The others are proud you are still working to make up for your mistake!"
She gazed below at her last child and smiled brightly at them, waving goodbye.
“Lady Metis!!”
“See ya, Felpius Flamel!"
She then disappeared into the light, returning to heaven.
Fels looked at the stone that made them immortal.
“Felpius… Flamel. Ah. That was my name so long ago. Hm..." They ponder on the name that was so foreign to them.
