Chaos Devourer System

Chapter 391 Retrieving The Footage

391  Retrieving The Footage

The elevator wheezed Zeras up with speed as his chest began pounding loudly, his distraction worked on the lower floors but he wasn't sure they also worked for those on the higher floors. Zeras had used the elevator malfunctioning in order to distract the guards.

Elevators going out of control wasn't such a big suspicious anomaly, it happens occasionally in every big organization, and he also knew well, that the guards would no doubt go to take a quick break in between that interface.

And that was the time Zeras had palmed to immediately climb up the elevator. But it was only a hypothesis, he wasn't sure they would all fall for it, and that was his hands laid on both pockets as the elevator wheezed him up.

DIING

The sound of the elevator once again opening rang out as the higher floor was revealed to Zeras who noticed the absolute harrowing silence and he stuck his head out a little to see what was going on...

"Clear..." Zeras mused to himself and instantly he shifted into his shadow form and quickly slipped into a dark cover.

"You've arrived at the fourth floor boss. You've done it..." Olyn's gleeful voice rang out as Zeras rolled his eyes.

"Yes, I have. So, the footage room is four doors to my right fourth floor mused as he looked at the dark unceremonious door in the distance.

"For a place containing the footage of a Universal-grade crime. Isn't it a little too lax?" Zeras thought to himself as he looked at the others. Only now did he discover there were strangely no guards at all through the long corridors. There were no guards at each of the doors at all.

"This is strange. This is very strange..." Zeras mused as his heart began rising once more. Even his body was telling him, there was something strange going on, but he was so darn close to his goal, it was just a door away and so Zeras advanced.

Moving like a snail, the dark shadows slowly inched closer towards the door. Arriving before the aforementioned, Zeras waited for a full minute to see if anything was going to wrong but nothing happened. The entire place was grave silent so he entered the door and arrived in the room where were there those uncontrollable numbers of shelves.

"Perfect boss, perfect. This is the room. At the third shelve to the right. I can pick up the fluctuation of the footage. It should be in a memory card...." Olyn said as Zeras moved to the third shelf and opened it up and just as Olyn said they were truly memory cards but they weren't one.

"Hey Olyn, there are five, which is which..." Zeras asked as he felt the silence from the other side and the crazy typing on the keyboard.

"No need to stress yourself out, I'll just pack everything," Zeras said to him as Olyn gave a sign of relief.

"And immediately, Zeras grabbed the memory card and began inputting it into his Watch."

"Boss, why don't you try to quickly exit..." The words rang out from Olyn after he noticed Zeras standing still.

"I want to upload everything to you right now, copy them on your system..." Zeras ordered as he began inputting the memory cards on his watch and sending all the footage to Olyn.

---------

10 minutes later...

"I've received everything, boss..."

"All five?" Zeras asked to be sure...

"Yes, boss. All five..."

"Good..." Zeras heaved a sigh of relief as a grin appeared on his face.

"This went easier than I thought..." Zeras said out loud but his face changed when Olyn's voice which seemed to be on the verge of breakdown rang out...

"Hey, boss..."

"What's wrong Olyn..."

"I...I..." Olyn stumbled as Zera's face changed.

"Hey, hey, calm down. Talk to me Olyn, have I been discovered...." Zeras asked the most likely scenario.

"Yes, boss."

"OK, that's completely fine. So can you now calm down and tell me when and where..." Zeras asked. Even though the normal reaction would be to quickly run away from the room. Zeras didn't move a single inch nor did he show the nervousness of moving at all...

"I never tracked it down earlier. But the Museum Hall has the rare tracking brokerage implemented in its protocol. You have been discovered the second you came out of the sewage..."

"Wow. That's alarming. But how come the guards were all at their normal position? If they've tracked me down how come I can't hear the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching me..." Zeras said with furrowed eyebrows.

And immediately, his eyes widened to saucers, and instantly, Zeras burst out of the room as he ran down the corridor with his fastest speed. And that was when he felt something soaring forward from his right with speed and then...

KABBOOOOOOOM

A devastating explosion rippled outwards as the entire wall of a part of the museum was smashed into pieces and two figures burst out of the devastation.

A robbed figure and a middle-aged man dressed in a normal white T-shirt and pants...

It was like a humongous bull running onto someone head-on...

That was what Zeras felt when the shoulder slammed on his body he immediately smashed completely through the wall and appeared mid-air, but without even turning back, the gun slipped down from his pockets due to gravity and Zeras grabbed them, the bullet already soaring forward towards the direction he came form before he even grabbed them in his hands properly.

BAAANG

BAAANG

BAAAANG

Through the nerve-wracking silence, the gunshot was like the cigar that lit the atomic bomb as all attention was immediately directed towards the direction where the gunshot came from and all the security began speeding up to where he was...

But he didn't even have time to worry about down as he stood upside down in the air soaring backward with speed and kept shooting at the man who was also soaring forwards towards him with speed one of his hands in his pockets while the other continuously slapped every bullet away from him with a deadly precision.

BAAAANG

A ripple emanated forth as Zeras suddenly twisted mid-air and slammed his legs on the fence of the Museum Hall stopping his backward motion.

Gravity immediately did its work on him as he was pulled downwards and landed on both feet, crouched onto the ground...

BAAAAAAANG n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The explosion came from the ground twenty meters away from him as the man landed on the round upright, a gigantic pothole beneath his feet...
