Chapter 211: Back on the Wall (4)
Chapter 211: Back on the Wall (4)
"How can I believe you?" Wrik asked and at the same time started building the momentum, condensing a thick strand of maha mana.
The broad man arched his eyebrow and picked Anton before him, still the lightning sword against his neck. "We are going to throw at the same time," he said.
Wrik thought for a second and nodded. "On my count," Wrik said and began. "Three."
He began condensing more pressure, swirling the mana with the help of the bracelet. "Two."
His mind started to have a headache again and the face he made with the illusion started to vibrate. Raging mana swirled inside his body as he looked at Anton in the eyes and blinked once.
"One."
Wrik threw the golden orb first as fast as he could and his vision turned slow motion as well. He could see the blade at the neck of Anton did not leave, instead, it went further while the broad man's eyes were at the golden orb coming towards him. He did not keep his bargain and Anton was too bad of a situation he was in that he could stop the blade on his own.
Wrik released the momentum he was building and shot a tinge of light towards the orb he just threw towards the man. The light travelled before he could and it was only a couple of yards away when he saw black blood gushing out of Anton's neck.
The light went straight to the orb just at the moment it reached the man. At that very instant, chains of runic pattern shot out of the surrounding about a couple of hundred metres. the Orb touched the man and just as Wrik had intended the overwhelming amount of knowledge assaulted the brain of the man that was still holding Anton.
The lightning sword on the arm of the man turned bleak, and it fell from the arm of the man. But it was not over yet, blood was gushing out in spray from Anton's neck, and worse, the overwhelming amount of knowledge assaulted him as well.
Anton's eyes turned blank like the other person and both of them fell one above another.
Wrik reached Anton and the slow-motion view stopped. Without bothering with the orb or the unconscious broad man, he first channelled to stop the blood from gushing out and remove Anton's helmet. He brought out his pouch and an intermediate healing potion from it. He forced the liquid out of the vial with mana and let it inside Anton's mouth.
"Come on, come on," he shouted. Though he stopped the blood from gushing out, the cut was not healing. He forced one of his arms on Anton's chest and helped him swirl mana for the healing factor.
A hundred metres tall chains of runic pattern finally stopped, but it had already done the damage. Other than making the two pass out it had given others in the surrounding area a location to aim for. He did not have much time and nor did he know how long these two would stay unconscious.
He brought out a good quality talisman bandage and covered the wound on Anton's neck. Even though he was unconscious, he was out of danger though it would take days to get back with the wound in the thigh and waist.
Wrik finally breathed out and took the blade from the earth. Without a second of pondering, he hacked the blade right into the man's neck. He reinforced it with enough mana to end this man for good. This guy already escaped twice. He did not want a third time, that's why he was aiming to behead him.
The man awakened and bellowed in pain. Blood was gushing out from the neck and within the bellowing, the man gripped the blade as hard as he could.
"This . .. is . .. the . .. third. .. time," the man said and mustered all of his strength and tried to pull out the blade. And moreover, he was winning it though Wrik did not let it go so easily.
"You can not kill me." The man laughed maniacally as he heard people rushing towards them. He sucked in a deep breath and worked a heavy kick on Wrik's gut. "I will not die. Not today."
The blade was still on the neck of the man and he started to crawl. No person in their dream would have managed to do that. At least Wrik had not seen such a scene in his life.
The man gave Wrik a last look before muttering again. "Not today," he said and ground his teeth. Bringing out something small like an orb he crushed it and smoke-filled all over the place, blinding them.
Wrik did not have time for astonishment, because a dozen more people were coming. Coupled with Anton being unconscious. He carried Anton on his back and stoop towards the glittering golden orb. Storing it again, he started running from the dozen incoming men. He did not see the man in the smoke, as he was probably lying down, but at least the smoke would be a good cover from him as well.
His body was weak with the overwhelming amount of work he had done since the last day Moreover, pulling extra force from the bracelet almost burned his mana circuit. The more he uses it now, the more it would be disastrous for him and he has no way to escape either. Yet he put up a thin layer of armament all over his body and Anton to escape from the bullets the men were shooting. Though the armour has some defence if there was no mana supplied to it it would only be a tin wall.
It would be a blood dash for him though both of them were already blood enough.
Wrik knew felling from them would be much difficult, so taking advantage of the smoke, he hid Anton's body behind a rock before bringing out two daggers from Anton. he have to collect back his sword as well. But before that, he has to play with a dozen men.
he enabled the [Eye of Insights] and within a blink, a corona of white light appeared surrounding his pupil. The effect of the smoke turned null to him as he ignore the pain in the head to walk towards the dozen men with shotguns and spears.
.. .
An hour later.
Anton barely managed to open his eyes as pain assaulted his brain. Other than the overwhelming headache, the impaling pain on his waist and thigh have not gone away. Without thinking he touched his neck and found it hurt a lot less compared to the thigh that was almost all the way pierced.
Putting in a little effort he barely managed to see Wrik standing leaning against a wall. The entire while armour was blood ridden. Heroic was the last word that would come in one's mind when they see the blood-stained white armour while the man that wore it was as blood.
Wrik released a breath and opened his eyes. "You finally woke up,' he said. "You need to get out soon, alone. Take that uniform you seized from the soldier and use it as a decoy to get out."
"Wrik, your eyes," Anton asked without listening to what Wrik was saying. "They were bleeding."
"I know," Wrik said, biting his lips. "But we have more problem at hand. you have to leave alone from here."
"And you?" Anton tried to get up and all his muscles and bones cranked when he finally managed to do.
"I have other ways," Wrik said. "This is not over yet. The man we battle did not have the power to lock down here, but Lord Rudyard did and he would do everything to get his hands on the item. He would not stop."
"Then?"
"We have to stop him before he could find us or within that time have to find a way to get out," Wrik said. "Clear the floor slowly and go to the ninth floor to escape from the hole in between. I'll join you. and also, try to get Ryat on the call. I know you do not like his way, but we need everything to get out of here."
"But where are you going?"
Wrik managed to bring out a faint smile. "It's time I have my power-up," he said. "I'm going to the Sword Abode."
A notification appeared before Wrik's eyes as he looked at Anton. "Be safe." then a light appeared in his body as he teleported out to some unknown space.
None of the two where that path leads to Wrik, nor how long it would take, but all they knew was that without with they don't stand a chance.
