Chapter 31 New Function: Ultimate Transmutation!
Smog drifted off Erian's mouth and nose almost as though he was made of steam engine. The battle had exhausted him this time, but he wasn't as injured as he was the previous time with the large crocodile.
The muscles in his arm were completely sore. If it weren't for the fact that his body had been strengthened, there might actually be a chance his arm would have been rendered useless from accumulating too much nuclear energy within.
Speaking of nuclear energy, Erian eagerly moved toward the beast with his arms outstretched. He could feel massive amount of energy being tucked into his body like a vacuum and in the blink of an eye, his nuclear energy has increased by two thousand and a few hundred points.
Erian was excited. Retracting the horn from the skull of the beast, after a bit of struggle, he managed to puncture a large hole in its chest. According to the information from the system, this beast had likely formed a nucleus which in most cases is located within the heart.
Ignoring the stench of blood and guts, Erian's left arm wiggled through the hole in search of a soft and hard-like object. Feeling the heart, Erian instantly ripped it out. His wild grin almost made him look like a psychopath.
Carefully splitting the heart into two, Erian finally found a greyish like stone.
A row of data instantly appeared before him.
[Name; Organic Nucleus]
[Nuclear energy; 3000]
[Info; Humans have nuclear pulse, beasts develop Organic Nucleus to help store nuclear energy absorbed into the body. ]
[Absorbable.]
"It's beautiful." This was the first time he was holding a nucleus and Erian help but admire how great it looked. It almost sparkled like a gem, but it was completely round without any edge, unlike a stone.
Feeling it with his hands, he realised it wasn't completely hard but seemed soft when more force is exerted upon it.
This fight was very much worth it. He earned 5000 plus energy points after just one battle. If he was to fight other beasts like this or maybe even a little stronger, Erian had the feeling reaching 4-star in two months wouldn't be completely impossible.
Erian hesitated. He currently doesn't have any money in him and was completely broke. Which made him wonder how much he would get for the organic nucleus. It would most likely be an astronomical amount of money but then, there was this saying, 'Treasures bring about trouble if strength is lacking '
If others were to know he had something this valuable, he would be robbed without a doubt, might even get killed in the process. This place wasn't like the town or city were everything and everywhere is so large and advanced that one can hardly even recognise one's neighbours or sell items anonymously. It's a small village here, everyone knew each other in this place, some might not even need to see the other's face and use just the body structure to define and recognise them. Perhaps it was better to use it in himself.
Making this decision, Erian immediately absorbed the energy within the object. In that instant, he had gained another three thousand energy points.
"Now I have enough energy points to upgrade my talent." Erian grinned wildly. His plan of upgrading his talent was now possible. And in no time, he might even surpass the limit he had set for himself.
Erian was about to get to it and give the command when something strange happened.
Massive amounts of nuclear energy spread out along every part of his body, filling it up to the brim. But what was strange was the fact that despite his limited upper limit, thousands of points of nuclear energy were being sucked into his body every second like some sort of black hole!
Erian was shocked and his expression instantly fell. 'W-what's happening?'
Since he couldn't find any changes in his body, Erian immediately attributed it to the system acting up. 'L-lord system, that's enough don't you think?
Five thousand points vanished under his gaze. It was as though the system was mocking him. Erian's eyes turned red and he about cried. The points he shed tears and blood for was being slurped by the system.
Another few seconds passed and the reducing points gradually relaxed until ten thousand points of energy had been drained
Face filled with despair and anger, Erian fell to the ground and saw the remainder of his nuclear points which were now
[Nuclear Energy; 339(390)]
Even his body's nuclear energy was now higher than that of his system energy reserve causing Erian's face to twitch rapidly. He felt like slapping the system to vent his anger, but unless he slapped himself, the system wouldn't be affected and that was considering the fact that the system had feelings. If it doesn't, then he would just be punishing himself.
Erian took in a deep breath. He was well aware of the danger of the area he was in. The stench of blood was starting to spread and if he doesn't leave quickly, he might encounter an even stronger beast.
But anger got the best of him, he proceeded to check the system and two words appeared in his line of sight.
"Ultimate Transmutation?" Erian muttered with a frown. Suddenly, he blanked out and his vision blurred as he seem to have seen a large centrifuge appear in his mind before it all cleared out as though it was a dream.
Erian was surprised. The system seems to have gained a new function, Ultimate Transmutation. It sounded cool, but was it really worth stealing his ten thousand points of nuclear energy.
Erian glanced around and then his eyes landed on the Steel-body Terror Rattus.
"Let's see how it works." He touched the body of the best and Erian immediately got even more angered. The function required 200 points for the transmutation ability to be activated.
'Why didn't you just suck me dry from the beginning!?'
Still, Erian gritted his teeth and accepted the condition. Instantly, the body of the Steel-body Terror Rattus vanished like it was never there.
Erian's pupils constricted. "Just what is this?
In his mind, he could faintly see the body appearing within the large centrifuge which began to spin rapidly like a fan.
Erian frowned faintly, as a sensation came to him. It was as though he could state what he wanted, but also couldn't control the process. The feeling was very vague and indistinct. Just when he thought of something, the centrifuge slowed down and eventually came to a stop.
A chilling gloomy looking pair of gloves appeared in his hands.
