Chapter 77
"I love muffins and blended tea. The muffins are delicious, and the blended milk tea is great."
Chigo was enjoying the muffin and drink she had bought earlier in the shade of a tree further away.
The T-shirt she wore was moderately sweaty from the long walk, and she took a break while flapping and fanning the T-shirt across her chest.
Usually, the teacher in charge must always stay with the student and lead the way. This is even written in the student handbook.
More than 90% of the other teachers also follow this handbook in teaching practical exercises to their students.
However, in this case, the teacher Chigo, dared the two students to operate alone because they prefer to work independently compared to other students - and because they are super powerful only when alone.
[Well, I don't want to walk about 70 per cent of the time.]
Chigo thought in her mind as she fluttered her feet in the air and stared at the shadows of leaves writhing on the ground.
She sipped the milk tea again, squinting pleasantly in the rich natural breeze.
"It's time to get the spiders out of here."
Chigo moved her fingertips as if she were playing "ayatori".
[TLN: 'ayatori': The Ayatori is a string game played by young Japanese children involving the manipulation of a string, often made of yarn, to form different figures. ]
She found herself in front of a group of little white spiders the size of her pinky finger. They were adorably rubbing up against Chigo's feet and seemingly playing with her.
[TLN: Aww, they sound cute.]
"Hoi, hoi, hoi, you two keep an eye on them," Chigo said in a cute voice.
"---!"
Those little spiders could not speak.
Still, they raised his two tiny paws cheerfully and trotted off to them. Their Speed was fast for a small body, and the spiders caught up with them in no time.
At the same time, Chigo asked the little spiders to "show me" in her mind. Two small white balls of light appeared above Chigo's head.
This was one of the skills from Chigo's calling, which allowed her to give pseudo-life to dolls created from her threads and feedback to some of their sense organs (sensations) to Chigo.
Many dolls can be made with this skill, including the one Chido created this time, which she calls "Chibi Spider," a doll suitable for infiltration and stealth action. The doll's vision is fed back to Chigo, allowing her to monitor Tenji and Fuyuki's activities from afar.
However, the number of information (sensory stocks) that can provide sensory feedback back to Chigo herself is limited to eight. Using two of these stocks has resulted in two white balls floating above Chigo's head.
"Fuyuki, you're practising the Jinsky Dragon as usual. I'm not sure how well you are using it yet....... But, it must indeed be hard to handle because of the sudden increase in physical ability."
To get a reload of sugary taste, Chigo mindlessly bites into a muffin.
Next, she turned her Chibis to Tenji.
"Well, Tenji, you are still the same as ever. You're letting the Goblins fight the main battle and trying to verify your calling. Even so......, it is an interesting ability no matter how many times I see it. The ability to summon five beastly creatures at once, probably of the upper fourth or lower third-grade, is an ability that will rewrite the.........conventional wisdom of explorers.."
Chigo began to observe Tenji through her chibi spider.
----Tenji Amagi.
"Yes, I've been able to confirm what I wanted to in a week. It feels good, and I'd be even happier if I could quickly move up to 2nd level at this rate. Well, that's an impossible condition."
After leaving them, Tenji summoned five Goblins, going one by his side and instructing the other four to molest all the surrounding monsters as soon as they were found.
Then he started comparing the 'Book of Enma' with the "List of Things to Confirm" item on his phone's notepad.
Ever since he decided to come to Mallorca, Tenji had been making a note of every question that had been bothering him, and he had been repeating this kind of confirmation daily.
He couldn't say that he had solved all the problems yet, but there were many problems that he could verify inside the dungeons, so the number of problems that have already been solved/verified had increased.
[Here's what I've learned so far today] Tennji thinks to himself.
Briefly, Tenji reviews his verifications...
The Goblin's "Tensei" skill was about a skill exclusive to hell beasts that consumes MP.
The Experience acquired from fifth-grade monsters is either "0" or "0.1".
The Experience obtained from the fourth-grade monsters ranged from "1" to "9".
The Experience obtained from third-grade monsters ranges from "10" to "36" (Maybe the upper limit is still higher? 36 is a bit of a tricky number.)
Regarding the conversion of magic ore, the fifth grade is 1 to 9, the fourth grade is 10 to 19, and the third is 20 to 29.
The new "MP Recovery Demon Lanterns" were added to the Hell Granny's store.
The Red Demon's Dagger has a 20% chance of putting the enemy into a state of unconsciousness.
The Red Demon Bangle has the skill of "force-guiding," which uses 105 MP and multiplies attack power by 1.75.
The efficiency of Experience is much better in the dungeon than in the hell realm. It depends on the day, but it can be at least twice as efficient.
These were the notes on Tenji's phone.
Among these, being able to verify the Goblin's natural ability "Rock Crushing" was a great discovery.
It has a buff effect that simply increases the Goblin's attack power value by 3.0 times, with the duration varying around 60 seconds. The MP consumption is exactly 100 and deducted from the Goblin's status, not Tenji.
Tenji surmised that perhaps it was this "Tensei" that lifted the giant tree when he first encountered the Goblin.
[TLN: "", Tensei in Japanese means some kind of 'heavenly' or 'raw/natural']
With this buff, the Goblin's attack power will be nearly 900, a level almost equal to that of Tenji.
As a result, it was found that the Goblins alone could defeat third-grade monsters and above.
This is one of the most rewarding verification in recent times.
Then, if Tenji equips the bangle, a 1.75x multiplier is added to the attack power, which is 2049.
With this level of monstrous strength, Chigo said, it was close to the equivalent of a second-grade explorer in an attack mode.
He also learned that the Goblins could carry these items and weapons. Of course, the demon lanterns purchased at the Hell Granny's store can also be used.
"I'm starting to understand...... a lot more about this calling."
Tenji slowly looked up at the clear blue sky, covered in the screams of monsters coming from all directions.
The season here is always pleasant, and he just wants to look up at the sky.
It has already been two and a half months since he took up his calling.
With the display of status, the unknown summoning system ability, and the increase in status in response to summoning, this calling did not have a section that specialized in some ability like an attack or a defence, but rather a calling that seemed to ask one person to do everything by himself.
The "le bte--pas," which other explorers have described as a "sudden increase in physical ability," has only increased by one after more than two months, perhaps because of "hell" involvement.
Nevertheless, even at a level 1 increase, he has the same physical ability as those third-grade explorers.
Summoning hell beasts, summoning weapons, and purchasing recovery items at Hell Granny's store. Everything was different from other people's calling, but that difference has recently become comfortable.
"I wonder when the next hell beast will show up. Is it level 2, or is it level 5? More........ I want to know."
Checking his calling and ability, a bit tedious at first, had become more enjoyable.
It is fair to say that it has a game element. It is interesting to consider what kind of explorer one's future might be, as this element is reflected more strongly than other explorers' calling.
"Oni?"
Tenji was lost in thought.
The first Goblin he summoned, who was waiting by his side, asked, "What's wrong?" and pulled the sleeve of his clothes from underneath.
"Sorry," apologized Tenji, snapping one hand on the Goblin's head.
"I think I'd like to meet a third-grade monster today, a little stronger than usual. Can you tell everyone to let me know if they find one without knocking it down?"
"Oni!"
The first Goblin was the leader of the Goblins...
That's why by placing that individual closest to him, he could get the message to all the individuals, even if they were far away.
It seemed that some kind of telepathic ability connected them. Tenji can only give vocal instructions, making it a little challenging to handle. That said, the Goblins are very smart, so there are more and more opportunities for them to take action without having to be told what to do.
"Well, let's get started--earn some experience points."
