With the fastest speed, Yin Qin drove the sedan to the Yin family villa.

He rushed into the villa.

Luo Xiaolang spent each day with his mother.

It was evident that Qin Keqin liked Luo Xiaolang, even though she never said it out loud.

The two were sitting on the sofa, watching TV.

As soon as Yin Qin emerged, they both turned towards him.

His demeanor was decidedly distraught these past couple of days.

“Luo Xiaolang, come with me.” Yin Qin directly reached out and grabbed Luo Xiaolang.

Luo Xiaolang was bewildered.

Qin Keqin instantly pulled Luo Xiaolang back, “What are you doing, Yin Qin?”

“It’s a real emergency.”

“Yin Qin, if anything happens to Luo Xiaolang or the baby, we’re done as mother and son,” she warned.

“Mom, where are your thoughts going?!” Disbelieving, Yin Qin replied, “If I wanted to harm Luo Xiaolang, I wouldn’t have waited until now.”

Qin Keqin fixed her gaze on Yin Qin.

“Nothing will happen, I promise.”

“Yin Qin,” Qin Keqin said seriously, “Is it about Ji Baixing?”

Yin Qin pursed his lips.

Just as Qin Keqin had suspected, the sudden demand for an extortionate amount of money, the sudden loss of control, was undoubtedly related to Ji Baixing.

Impatient and anxious, Yin Qin responded, “Stop asking, I know my limits.”

Qin Keqin wanted to say something more.

But Yin Qin had already left the house with Luo Xiaolang.

Yin Qin directed Luo Xiaolang to sit in the back seat of the car.

With a press of the pedal, they quickly took off.

The car was swift.

At that moment, Luo Xiaolang couldn’t help gripping the armrest, her other hand on her prominently round belly.

In the past, she hadn’t been so cautious about the child in her belly. But since coming to reside with the Yin family. After such a long time with Qin Keqin who provided her with several lessons about being pregnant and taught her many things, she realised how precarious pregnancy could be.

Watching Yin Qin driving in such a fluster, she did not know what had happened, but it must be no small matter.

The car drove on the city streets for a long time.

Luo Xiaolang maintained her silence.

Yin Qin also said nothing.

Luo Xiaolang could only feel that Yin Qin was severely irritable.

Suddenly.

Yin Qin’s phone rang.

Yin Qin swiftly answered the call, tightly clutching his phone, speaking bluntly, fearing to waste even one second, “Luo Xiaolang is in my car now.”

“Drive the car to the entrance of the first alley of Linlan Street in the West Suburbs. Let Luo Xiaolang get out of the car and hand her the phone. Don’t worry about what happens next!” the other end instructed.

“Alright.” Yin Qin agreed promptly.

The caller quickly hung up.

After Yin Qin put the phone away, he drove even faster.

Luo Xiaolang’s grip on the armrest tightened.

The car came to a sudden halt.

Luo Xiaolang steadied herself.

Thank goodness.

She was prepared, predicting Yin Qin would suddenly slam the brakes.

She watched Yin Qin stop the car, turn and hand her the phone.

Luo Xiaolang frowned, clueless.

Yin Qin said, “There’s no time to explain right now. All you need to do is listen and not ask any questions, or resist.”

Luo Xiaolang looked at him directly.

“Ji Baixing has been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 100 million in cash. The money is in the two cases beside you. After getting out of the car, carry them with you. I’ll give you this mobile. If a stranger calls you, pick it up and do whatever he directs you to do!” Yin Qin spoke fast and urgently. His tone intensified, “Luo Xiaolang, do not resist. I understand you’re usually quite a handful, but this situation is unlike anything else. Ji Baixing’s life is being directly threatened, assuring his safety is of paramount importance.”

Luo Xiaolang remained silent.

Yin Qin continued, “Luo Xiaolang, please bring Ji Baixing back safely.”

Yin Qin’s plea was sincere.

That moment seemed to carry a note of desperation.

Luo Xiaolang had rarely seen Yin Qin like this before.

She wasn’t sure how she felt at the moment, but she nodded her head, “Okay.”

Yin Qin abruptly got out of the car, hastily moved to the back seat, opened the door for Luo Xiaolang, and passed her the cases of cash.

They were quite heavy.

Qin Keqin had told her that pregnant women shouldn’t lift heavy items.

Yet, at that moment, she yielded.

Compliant, she accepted both cases.

Luo Xiaolang intended to carry one in each hand.

Yin Qin, however, placed both cases onto one of Luo Xiaolang’s hands, instructing her to hold the phone in her other hand.

“Luo Xiaolang, it’s up to you now.” Yin Qin said seriously.

As if he had put all his hopes on her.

Luo Xiaolang nodded her head.

She carried the suitcase and headed towards the alleyway.

Only a few steps in,

The cell phone in Luo Xiaolang’s hand rang.

She answered, “Hello.”

“Don’t look around, don’t turn back, continue walking at a normal pace.”

“Okay,” Luo Xiaolang responded on cue.

“Turn right after ten meters.”

Luo Xiaolang followed the instructions from the phone.

“Turn left at the second intersection.”

“Go straight at the billboard arch, go right.”

“Cross the traffic light, cross the road in front of you. Go right.”

“Move forward 20 meters, then turn left.”

Luo Xiaolang carried on walking as instructed by the voice on the phone.

After more than 40 minutes,

Luo Xiaolang was starting to get tired.

Carrying the heavy object, with her bulging belly.

Some sweat trickled down her forehead, her belly felt tight.

Perhaps the baby was also uncomfortable, constantly kicking her.

Luo Xiaolang paused her steps.

The person on the phone said, “Why, aren’t you moving?”

Luo Xiaolang gritted her teeth and kept going.

Another 20 minutes passed.

The voice on the phone directed, “There is a big iron gate in front of you. Push it open.”

Luo Xiaolang walked over and pushed it open.

“Walk forward, there’s an abandoned warehouse.”

Luo Xiaolang walked to the front of the warehouse.

“Leave the phone at the door and only bring the money in.”

The call abruptly ended.

Luo Xiaolang left her phone at the door.

Finally, she could grasp a suitcase in each hand.

She took a deep breath and opened the warehouse door.

The huge warehouse was filled with junk, cluttered all over.

Luo Xiaolang stepped cautiously inside.

The warehouse was big, dusty, and eerily quiet.

It was so quiet that her footsteps echoed.

She carefully moved forward, bypassing heap after heap of junk. Finally, she saw five burly men with faces covered and hats on in the deepest part of the warehouse, and Ji Baixing, with his eyes shuttered, mouth gagged, and tied to a chair surrounded by the five men.

Luo Xiaolang looked at Ji Baixing, then turned to the five men in front of her.

“Come over,” one of the men ordered.

When Ji Baixing heard the voice, he was shocked.

Two long days.

She had no idea how she had gotten through these two days.

She only remembered that Li Wenjun had called her two afternoons ago and asked her to pick up his dry-cleaned suit from the laundry shop on the nearby street. He said that he had to work late that night and feared the shop would be closed by the time he got off work. He needed the suit urgently tomorrow, so he asked her to help him pick it up.

She was on holiday and didn’t refuse. She went right away after hanging up.

Just as she was reaching a lane near the laundry shop, unexpectedly, someone covered her mouth. Before she could react, she fainted.

When she woke up, she was in an unknown place, the place was dusty, and she was tied up and gagged.

It was only now

She realized that someone had come.

Are they here to rescue her?

She was nervous, her body tense, listening to the voices around her.

Luo Xiaolang approached.

“Put the suitcase on the ground and open it,” ordered one man.

Luo Xiaolang bent down with effort.

Because her stomach was really big now, many things had become inconvenient.

She put down the suitcase and opened it.

It was full of money, stack upon stack, very thick.

Two entire suitcases.

A man glanced at it and ordered another man to take it away.

Quick as a flash, Luo Xiaolang grabbed one of the suitcases back.

The man furrowed his brow, deciding to seize the situation directly at that moment.

Luo Xiaolang deftly sidestepped.

No matter how cumbersome his body felt at the moment, his basic combat instincts were still there.

“Let Ji Baixing go first.” Luo Xiaolang guarded the suitcase behind him.

The man furrowed his brows.

Ji Baixing’s body tightened even more.

She immediately recognized it as Luo Xiaolang’s voice.

Did Luo Xiaolang come to rescue her?!

Luo Xiaolang said, “First, let Ji Baixing go. Then, this suitcase full of money is yours.”

“Negotiating terms with me?”

“Money for the person,” Luo Xiaolang firmly replied.

Even though he couldn’t see the man’s face at that moment, Luo Xiaolang could feel his hostility.

The stand-off lasted for at least half a minute.

The man coldly ordered, “Let Ji Baixing go.”

Another man, following the orders, turned around to untie Ji Baixing.

Ji Baixing was trembling with fear.

The moment she felt someone approaching, her inner terror amplified uncontrollably.

The man untied the rope binding Ji Baixing.

He reached out to remove Ji Baixing’s blindfold.

The moment Ji Baixing felt something approaching her face, she was terrified, feeling as though she had lost herself.

Instinctively, she put up her hands to block the man. Feeling his hand touch her eyes, in fear, she lashed out.

It seemed as though she had torn something off.

At the same time.

The man swiftly removed Ji Baixing’s blindfold.

Ji Baixing was suddenly startled.

At that moment, she was staring directly at the man’s face, his stern and angry features.

The random swipe of her hand had torn off the man’s black mask.

The man’s face was now shockingly visible to Ji Baixing.

Ji Baixing was so frightened that her mind went blank.

The next second.

“Dammit!” The man cursed.

With a brutal slap, his hand forcefully struck Ji Baixing’s face.

Such a strong man, the power in his arm was astounding. The force of the man’s slap knocked Ji Baixing off the chair and onto the floor.

Ji Baixing felt a burning pain on her face, a buzzing in her ears, her whole body was shocked and she was unable to react.

Luo Xiaolang swiftly moved forward.

Before he could approach closer.

Two other men instantly blocked Luo Xiaolang’s path.

“Damned bitch!” The man, whose mask Ji Baixing had removed, looked incredibly piqued.

Luo Xiaolang also tensed up significantly.

Originally, he could have let Ji Baixing leave first. After she’s safe, he could give the remaining money to these men to ensure Ji Baixing’s absolute safety. Unexpectedly, in her panic, Ji Baixing had revealed the kidnapper’s face. In this kind of kidnapping, if the real face was revealed, it’s hard to guarantee they won’t kill…

Luo Xiaolang looked at Ji Baixing on the floor, and the man without his mask now showing a ferocious glare.

“Boss, what should we do?” Another man asked their leader anxiously.

The leader also looked awful, his eyes full of bloodlust.

“We won’t call the police, and we won’t expose you.” Luo Xiaolang tried to calm himself and spoke, “I promise. This money means nothing to us, we just don’t want to die!”

“Shut up!” The leader bellowed furiously at Luo Xiaolang.

Luo Xiaolang gritted his teeth.

Everyone’s eyes were on the leader, seemingly waiting for him to make a decision.

“You all keep an eye on them.” The leader ordered the others.

The four other henchmen nodded quickly.

The leader picked up his phone and walked away swiftly.

He dialed a number, “Now, one of my guys had his real face seen by Ji Baixing.”

“How could you be so careless!” Weng Cheng’s face changed immediately.

“It’s our fault.” The man said harshly, “But since she has seen him, there’s no way I’m leaving any witnesses.”

“Are you insane? I said no bloodshed!”

“We five have always been together, I can’t abandon my brothers! Besides, if my brother gets caught, it will certainly expose us all, and I won’t be safe either!”

“You are not allowed to kill!” Weng Cheng’s face turned ugly.

“If I don’t kill Ji Baixing, and if she calls the police, if we get caught, I’ll drag you down with me.”

“You!” Weng Cheng’s face turned green with anger.

“For everyone’s safety, murder is the only option.”

“Can you guarantee that you won’t get caught? Once a murder occurs, the police will definitely investigate. I’ll help you escape!”

“We all live in Jin City, we can’t leave! We’ve never been discovered all this while, this incident won’t turn us onto fugitives. Relax, we have kidnapped and killed before, not once were we found by the police!”

Weng Cheng clenched his phone, unable to utter a single word.

Originally, he just wanted to kidnap Ji Baixing to get shares of the Milky Way, and at most, teach Yin Qin a lesson by getting rid of his child. He never intended to take a life.

“The phone call was just to inform you, not to seek your opinion.” The leader said brutally.

“Be careful!” Weng Cheng gritted his teeth.

Don’t blame him for being cruel.

If there was anyone to blame, it was Ji Baixing’s unfortunate fate.

The leader hung up.

He turned around and walked back fiercely.

Ji Baixing sat fearfully on the ground.

Luo Xiaolang looked at everyone.

She knew very well that this time, it would not be easy to get out.

She was constantly observing.

Observing whether the five-men-group was armed.

She hadn’t found any weapons so far, or at least they hadn’t pulled them out.

She wondered if she could win a one against five, especially when she was heavily pregnant.

These five people were probably not from the Corpse Organization, they didn’t seem like it.

If they were not from the Corpse Organization and were just an ordinary kidnapping gang, their combat power shouldn’t be too strong.

Luo Xiaolang was calculating in her heart, thinking about how to rescue Ji Baixing.

At that moment, she saw the leader walking back.

The murderous intent in his eyes was obvious.

Luo Xiaolang felt a tightening in her chest.

She watched the leader warily.

She watched as he suddenly pulled out a black weapon from his clothes.

Luo Xiaolang bit her lip.

She should not harbor the slightest hope.

Since they committed this crime as a gang, they must be well-prepared.

And according to their actions, they did not seem to be novices.

Luo Xiaolang watched as the leader walked towards Ji Baixing.

The black weapon was aimed coldly at Ji Baixing.

Looking at the weapon, Ji Baixing was so scared that she seemed to lose all senses. It was the first time she felt the closeness of death; so close, very close!

“I’ve called the police!” Luo Xiaolang suddenly spoke.

The leader paused.

“I’ve called the police, the cops are outside!” Luo Xiaolang said loudly.

The leader turned and glared at Luo Xiaolang.

“If you kill us now, you’re a murderer, and death penalty is inevitable. But if you just kidnap, you won’t be sentenced to death!” Luo Xiaolang said urgently.

“Damn, shut up, woman!” The leader turned and walked towards Luo Xiaolang.

The weapon was pointed directly at Luo Xiaolang’s forehead.

Luo Xiaolang bit her lip.

She looked at the weapon at close range and at the man with only his two eyes exposed. She felt his strong hostility.

“In Yanshang Country, you pay your life for taking one.” Luo Xiaolang tried to remain as calm as possible and said.

“You think I’m afraid of death?!” The leader aimed at Luo Xiaolang’s forehead, “Let me tell you, woman, I’ve killed before. Even if I don’t kill you now, if the police catch us and our past kidnappings are traced, we are still doomed!”

Luo Xiaolang was taken aback.

As expected, they were not novices.

Her previous threat was utterly useless to this gang.

She told herself to stay calm.

Wei Ziming’s master had said, no matter what danger you face, you must not panic!

She said, “Don’t kill us yet, at least we’re hostages, we can help you escape smoothly. If you kill us, the police are right outside and you won’t be able to get away.”

“Shut up!” The man yelled angrily.

Luo Xiaolang glared at him.

“Boss, don’t listen to this woman’s one-sided words. When did she have time to call the police!” one of the men said suddenly.

The leader paused.

Then, in a cold, grim voice, he said, “You said you called the police? When?”

Luo Xiaolang gritted her teeth.

“Yin Qin, that wimp, does he dare to call the police?” The leader mocked.

“He wouldn’t dare, but I do. Yin Qin likes Ji Baixing, he cares for her safety. I have nothing to do with Ji Baixing, why should I care about her safety? I only care about my own!”

“Then why did you come? Why did you listen to Yin Qin and come here?!”

“Because I like Yin Qin.” Luo Xiaolang said word by word.

The leader glared at her.

“Because I like Yin Qin!” Luo Xiaolang repeated, “If I didn’t agree to him, he would hate me!”

“So tell me, when did you call the police? Can you do that while answering our calls?” The leader asked coldly.

“The moment you asked me to leave my phone at the door, I called the police.” Luo Xiaolang said.

She could only bluff like this.

She was well aware that sooner or later she would be exposed.

She said, “Believe it or not, you can send your men outside to see if the police are already there?!”

The gang leader was indeed skeptical.

In such a short time, it would be impossible to alert the police.

However, looking at Luo Xiaolang’s serious expression, he was afraid that if the police were indeed outside, they would be doomed without any hostages.

The gang leader hesitated for a moment, then said coldly to a man by his side, “You go and check outside, be careful.”

“Yes, boss.” With orders given, the man quickly set off to leave.

“Wait.” The gang leader called out to him.

“Aqiang, give the weapon to Lao Wu.” The gang leader commanded.

The one called Aqiang, who was unmasked by Ji Baixin, took out his weapon from his clothes and gave it to the man called Lao Wu.

Lao Wu took the weapon and quickly left.

Luo Xiaolang’s eyes flickered, watching as the man swiftly ran out of the warehouse.

Luckily, this warehouse was huge.

When Luo Xiaolang had entered, she had moved very cautiously, partially because she was vigilant of the unknown dangers, and partially because she was observing the environment.

Weiziming’s master once said that it was important to familiarize oneself with any new environment as quickly as possible, as it would increase the chances of escape.

The moment she had entered, she had calculated approximately how long it would take to move from the warehouse entrance to the objective.

According to the man’s jogging speed, it should take about 2 minutes.

Which means, she had 2 minutes to face one less opponent.

One versus four.

This was the biggest advantage she could secure for herself.

Her eyes narrowed.

At the moment when the gang leader was distracted, looking at his departing subordinates, Luo Xiaolang quickly sidestepped, dodged the weapon pointed at her, and fiercely knocked it away from the man’s hand.

The weapon fell to the ground.

The gang leader quickly reacted, aiming a vicious kick at Luo Xiaolang’s stomach.

Luo Xiaolang nimbly spun around, avoiding it perfectly.

At the same time, she bent down to pick up the weapon on the ground.

The gang leader rushed forward, kicking the weapon away.

Luckily, this gang only had two weapons.

From the moment Aqiang handed the weapon to Lao Wu, Luo Xiaolang had fairly concluded this, so she made her move decisively then.

Now the weapon had been kicked far away, Luo Xiaolang glanced over and saw Aqiang already running towards it!

Luo Xiaolang suddenly moved back, skillfully dodging the aggressive attacks coming from the remaining two men, other than the boss.

Luo Xiaolang was on constant defense.

She could not tangle with them now, because once Aqiang got the gun, her life would certainly be in danger.

And all this would happen in less than ten seconds.

She shouted out loud, “Ji Baixin, run out!”

At that moment, Ji Baixin looked stunned as she watched Luo Xiaolang fight with the men before her with a look of fright.

When she heard Luo Xiaolang’s voice, she seemed to snap out of her trance.

She quickly got up from the ground, not giving it a second thought and ran towards the exit.

Luo Xiaolang was watching Ji Baixin’s retreating figure.

After watching her run a few steps, she turned around and quickly followed in her direction.

Luo Xiaolang was faster than Ji Baixin, and in just a few steps, caught up with her, pulled her behind a pile of discarded materials.

In just a second, perhaps even less than that.

A gunshot rang out.

Resounding in the vast warehouse.

Ji Baixin even thought she could feel the bullet whisk past her ear at that moment.

She was so terrified that her face turned pale.

Her legs went weak, and her entire body was shaking.

Luo Xiaolang held onto Ji Baixin the whole time, her palms clammy with sweat.

She was surveying the surroundings, pulling Ji Baixin along, weaving through the debris.

Suddenly.

Luo Xiaolang came to a stop.

She quickly pulled Ji Baixin down, making them squat on the ground.

Ji Baixin looked at Luo Xiaolang.

This was the first time she realised that this woman, who was not even twenty yet, and despite being pregnant still had an innocent face, was so strong.

She had never experienced anything like this before and had almost fainted out of fear several times.

But this woman, she was so calm.

So calm while trying to save her.

She bit her lip, her eyes turning red.

Then she heard Luo Xiaolang say, “Right now, we have people on both sides, there is no other way out! If I’m not mistaken, we will be discovered within three minutes.”

Ji Baixin looked at her.

Her heart was racing.

“I’ll count to three, and then I’ll go out to the left, attracting everyone’s attention. You run towards the back without hesitation. The warehouse exit is to the right!”

“No.” Ji Baixing held onto Luo Xiaolang, “If I go out, what will happen to you?”

“Don’t worry about me.”

“No.” Ji Baixing’s eyes were very red.

She had never imagined that Luo Xiaolang would put herself at risk for her.

“Otherwise, we will die together.” Luo Xiaolang said harshly, “I can still fight them off. With you here, it’s actually a burden.”

“I can also distract them… I might not be able to escape anyway, but if it’s you, you’d certainly be able to get away.” Ji Baixing said, gritting her teeth seriously.

“No need.” Luo Xiaolang flatly refused.

Yin Qin said.

Ji Baixing’s life is very important.

He didn’t mention whether she needed to return safely.

“Luo Xiaolang…”

“I’ll count to three. Three, two, one…” Luo Xiaolang charged out without waiting for a reply.

Ji Baixing didn’t manage to hold her back.

At that moment, Ji Baixing heard many footsteps heading towards Luo Xiaolang.

There were even gunshots.

Ji Baixing’s eyes blurred with tears.

Luo Xiaolang was pregnant.

Her belly was so big.

She gritted her teeth.

Gritting her teeth, she ran in the opposite direction Luo Xiaolang had indicated, escaping through the rubble.

After she got out, she would find help.

After she got out, she would call the police to rescue Luo Xiaolang.

She was running at great speed.

She desperately wanted to get out.

She was looking at the exit of the warehouse.

Perhaps she was in too much of a rush, she stumbled and plunged forward onto the ground.

Before she could react.

She was harshly restrained by someone.

A terrifying male voice harshly whispered in her ear, “Run, where are you running to now!”

With that, he viciously kicked Ji Baixing in the stomach.

“Ah!” Ji Baixing was in so much pain that she curled up into a ball.

Then, a warm liquid flowed between her legs.

She held her stomach.

Enduring the intense pain.

She too was pregnant… although only just under 3 months along.

The man, still not satisfied, kicked Ji Baixing several more times, kicking her viciously…

The warehouse door was forcefully pushed open.

Yin Qin, sweating profusely and with an incredibly ferocious look, appeared at the door.

The moment he saw Ji Baixing on the ground, and all the blood around her, and at that moment, a man was ruthlessly kicking her as if wanting to kick her to death.

Yin Qin was absolutely livid at that moment.

He had been waiting on the street for a long time.

Waiting so long that he felt something was wrong.

So, he finally couldn’t resist, he quickly found a cybercafe, used his phone to track his IP, and was shocked to discover such a bloody scene when he arrived.

He charged over like a madman, punching the man in the face, then kicked him hard.

Caught off guard, the man was knocked to the ground by Yin Qin’s brute force.

Before he could fight back,

Yin Qin directly went over, pinned him down, grabbed his clothes, and began punching him mercilessly. At first, the man tried to resist, but eventually, covered in blood, he stopped moving, whether unconscious or dead, it was hard to tell.

Ji Baixing struggled to get up.

She pulled at Yin Qin.

Yin Qin froze.

He abruptly let go of the man, turned around, and saw Ji Baixing, covered in blood.

Yin Qin held Ji Baixing tightly in his arms.

At that moment, he held her so tightly, uncontrollably so.

He was truly scared that Ji Baixing would die just like that, just die so suddenly…

Ji Baixing felt a sudden twinge in her chest.

The intense heartbeat at that moment, the racing pulse was completely different from the fear she felt just now.

She actually wanted so desperately to stay in this man’s arms.

She had never felt like this, never felt this sense of security from a man before.

Not even from Li Wenjun.

Because of her mother, she hated her family and had been independent from a young age, never relying on anybody. However, at this moment, Yin Qin’s embrace was something she depended on, something she didn’t want to let go of, and it even gave her an inexplicable impulse!

But… there was also Luo Xiaolang.

Ji Baixing was about to speak.

Yin Qin suddenly picked her up in his arms.

Without thinking, he immediately decided to take her to the hospital.

Ji Baixing felt his sudden move, she endured the severe pain and tried to make a sound, saying, “Luo Xiaolang, Luo Xiaolang…”

Luo Xiaolang had just drawn away most of the people for her.

And those people had weapons.

She didn’t know how Luo Xiaolang was doing now!

She was afraid that something had happened to Luo Xiaolang…

It seemed to hit Yin Qin all at once. Luo Xiaolang still had to be dealt with!

He suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Holding Ji Baixing, he suddenly stiffened.

In that instant, images of Luo Xiaolang’s calm, composed, indifferent face filled his mind…

“She distracted the others for me…you need to go save her…”. Ji Baixing’s voice was barely a whisper, and she trembled in pain.

Yin Qin bent down, ready to put Ji Baixing down.

Just then-

He seemed to suddenly hear footsteps behind him.

One after another, heavy footsteps.

Yin Qin swiftly turned around.

His eyes reddened in an instant.

He saw Luo Xiaolang walking out.

Looking at her still calm face, without any reaction.

“Xiaolang.” Yin Qin called her.

At this moment, Yin Qin was holding Ji Baixing with her obediently nestling in his arms.

Ji Baixing was covered in blood.

Yin Qin was also stained with blood.

Luo Xiaolang took a glance at Ji Baixing.

She looked as though she was hanging on by a thread.

Strained, Ji Baixing was also looking at Luo Xiaolang. She asked her, “Xiaolang, are you okay?”

Luo Xiaolang didn’t answer.

She just shook her head.

She indeed looked fine and was able to walk out on her own.

There wasn’t much blood on her.

“I knew you were skilled and wouldn’t be in danger.” At that moment, Yin Qin was somewhat agitated. He said, “Ji Baixing is severely injured, I’ll take you guys to the hospital, follow me.”

Without any further delay, Yin Qin took Ji Baixing and started to leave!

Luo Xiaolang watched him leave.

She slowly followed.

With Ji Baixing in his arms, Yin Qin was moving quickly.

There was still a distance between the warehouse and the street.

He didn’t care whether Luo Xiaolang could keep up or not, and took off, carrying Ji Baixing at a quick pace.

Subduing her pain, Luo Xiaolang guarded her stomach.

She jogged to catch up.

A somewhat gasping Yin Qin carried Ji Baixing to his car.

He turned his head to look at Luo Xiaolang, “Help me open the car door.”

Luo Xiaolang helped him open it.

Very carefully, Yin Qin put Ji Baixing into the back seat.

Ji Baixing was looking very pale. Her complexion was terrible.

Yin Qin urged Luo Xiaolang, “Hurry up and get in.”

Luo Xiaolang sat next to Ji Baixing.

All along-

Yin Qin had never questioned Luo Xiaolang.

She looked out of the window.

Yin Qin drove very quickly, the urgency was clear on his face.

The car quickly reached the destination.

Yin Qin opened the door on Ji Baixing’s side, immediately picked her up, and dashed into the hospital.

Luo Xiaolang watched Yin Qin’s retreating figure, slowly getting out of the car.

When she got off the car-

Her thighs weakened, and she almost fell straight down.

She tried hard to lean on the car door.

She clutched her thigh tightly, the place where the bullet had wounded her.

She gritted her teeth.

Stood up.

Step by step, she entered the hospital entrance.

She had been very active today, doing many things potentially harmful to a pregnant woman. She didn’t know if it had affected the baby in her belly. Though she had consciously protected her stomach during the fight, there was no avoiding occasional hits.

She cradled her belly.

She began to feel the pain in her abdomen, which had become impossible to ignore.

When Luo Xiaolang entered the hospital lobby, she saw Yin Qin hysterically calling out for doctors and nurses. He appeared very agitated, “Call a doctor! Call a doctor! There’s someone seriously injured!”

As it was already night.

The hospital was fairly empty, and Yin Qin’s voice echoed throughout the empty lobby.

Instantly, hospital staff members came rushing out.

“Sir, please come with me immediately,” a nurse hurriedly said.

Yin Qin, full of urgency, carried Ji Baixing towards the emergency room, trailing after the nurse.

Luo Xiaolang followed them.

Upon reaching the emergency room, the doctor had Yin Qin place Ji Baixing on a mobile gurney.

Yin Qin carefully placed Ji Baixing on it, repeatedly reassuring, “Don’t worry, you’re safe now. We’re at the hospital, everything will be okay…”

At that moment, he paid no attention to Luo Xiaolang and immediately followed the doctors and nurses into the operating room.

Once Ji Baixing had completely left the emergency room and all the staff had returned to their posts, Luo Xiaolang approached the emergency window and said, “I’ve been shot. Is there a doctor who can help me remove the bullet?”

“What did you say?” The nurse at the window thought she had misheard.

Who would be this calm after being shot?

“I was hit by a bullet on my thigh,” Luo Xiaolang explained, “Also, my abdomen hurts a bit, and I think I’m bleeding between my legs.”

“Why didn’t you say so sooner? You’ve been here quite a while!” the nurse said, somewhat speechless, “Hold on, I’ll call the on-duty doctor.”

Saying this, the nurse rapidly dialed a number.

A moment later.

An on-duty doctor emerged, looking at Luo Xiaolang with her big belly.

“You’re injured?” the doctor asked.

“Yes.” Luo Xiaolang exposed her bloody thigh.

It was bloody and gruesome, the flesh exposed.

“Where’s your family?” The doctor’s face changed slightly.

“Not here.”

“Call them over immediately. Your condition isn’t just a simple bullet extraction.” The doctor looked serious.

“I’m an orphan. I have no family,” Luo Xiaolang explained.

“And the baby’s father?” The doctor appeared somewhat irritated.

It was astonishing that there was no one by her side considering the severity of her injury and her pregnancy.

“He’s in the operating room.”

“Hmm?” The doctor frowned.

He thought for a moment that both of them might have been involved in some accident.

After all, a bullet was involved.

“He’s accompanying someone else through surgery.” Luo Xiaolang explained.

“Accompanying who!? His wife’s in this condition and he’s with someone else! Call him over immediately.” The doctor, seemingly angry, turned to the nurse and said, “Go get her family. They’re in the operation room.”

Luo Xiaolang wanted to tell the doctor that she wasn’t Yin Qin’s wife.

But before she could say anything, the nurse had already hurried off.

A while later.

Yin Qin came running over with a nurse, “Luo Xiaolang, you’ve been shot?”

Luo Xiaolang nodded.

“Why didn’t you tell me!” Yin Qin snapped.

Luo Xiaolang didn’t respond.

“Damn it,” Yin Qin cursed.

He felt inexplicably guilty at that moment.

From the beginning till the end, he didn’t even realize that Luo Xiaolang was wounded, all his attention was on Ji Baixing. He didn’t have time to care about Luo Xiaolang.

He had always thought Luo Xiaolang was a formidable fighter.

Considering the combat power of those kidnappers, he knew they were no match for Luo Xiaolang when he floored one of them.

He had no idea that those kidnappers actually had weapons!

Damn it!

Yin Qin’s face turned incredibly grim!

Luo Xiaolang just watched as Yin Qin’s emotions changed.

Even though she might be a bit slow on the uptake, she could see the difference in the way Yin Qin treated Ji Baixing and her.

She couldn’t quite put her finger on the difference.

But it seemed.

That Yin Qin liked Ji Baixing, not her.
